After their emotions were under control, Leng Pan and Lu Zhen separated and each sat down on the sofas inside the living room to meditate.

While Lu Zhen took out the crystal core from the evolved zombie, Leng Pan also took a few crystal cores from her private stash.

She also needed to cultivate and absorb the energy from the meteorite. Every time they touch the meteorite, it activates something within them and increases the energy in their bodies, thus triggering the advancement of superpowers.

Now that they were going a distance from home, they wanted to be as strong as possible because they didn't know what they would find.

It was better to be prepared in case they came across something that could become a potential risk to their lives.

The two of them meditated for four hours before they were done. Once all the power from the meteorite was absorbed, Lu Zhen had advanced to the third level of superpower.

His ability now was probably unparalleled.

After tidying up, Leng Pan felt compelled to take the jade pendant that they had found on the roof of a building as a shard but changed later.

She didn't know why, but she felt that the pendant shouldn't leave Lu Zhen. Thus, she found a string somewhere and looped the pendant on it, turning it into a necklace then she had him wear it around the neck with a promise of not taking it off.

Lu Zhen didn't understand why his wife insisted that he wear the pendant but he wasn't about to complain. Thus, he put the necklace on before the two left the space and went back to their bedroom in the apartment.

What the two didn't realize before leaving the mansion was that another room had opened up.

This should be because they had regained some more memories about their past. However, Zee didn't remind them because it knew that they had plans and needed some rest and planning.

The next morning after breakfast, Lu Tao gave them the communication devices he had finished creating. There was one that looked like a mobile phone and another that was similar to ear comms.

"The frequency can be adjusted depending on the distance and depth. In case you go to a place where you have to go underground like in a basement or something, you have to adjust the frequency." Lu Tao explained as he gave the comms and phones to his brother who then gave a pair to his wife.

"Okay, make sure to take care of Mom and the others. Don't go out unnecessarily or put yourself in danger.

Don't open the door for anyone even if the sky is falling. You have already experienced what could happen if you become too compassionate.

Don't trust anyone or sympathize with others causing you to make a decision that could lead to the death or injuries of you guys.

Just stay at home and wait for us to come back.

It showed how worried he was about leaving the other members of the family alone at home. But the problem was, he didn't know where they were going and how safe that place was.

Thus, he could not take his family with him. He was already uneasy going with his wife, especially after the memories he had gained last night.

However, those memories also cemented his resolve to find the mystery behind the apocalypse and end it once and for all.

Even though the zombies and monsters he saw in the memories were advanced and he could even tell that they could think independently, he was sure they started the same way the current zombies are.

They had already witnessed how zombies could mutate and evolve, he had no plans of letting the zombies evolve to the point where humans had to flee from their own planet because they were overwhelmed by the war between the two sides.

"Son, don't go with so many worries in your head. We will be careful and not cause trouble. We can talk every day in the morning and evening so that you can put your mind to rest and do what you want to." Li Yunjia advised her son because she didn't want him going out with a divided mind.

It could cause terrible accidents if he becomes distracted in the middle of a battle because he was worried about them.

"Your mother is right. Don't worry so much about us. Your brother will keep his ears on the ground and warn us about what others are planning.

With him around, it will not be easy for others to plot against us. You and Panpan on the other hand should be careful on your journey.

You are heading to the abandoned town and even though there will definitely be fewer zombies since the place has been abandoned for many years, you never know what else is lurking there.

One could tell that something was bothering Uncle Li but since he didn't say anything, no one asked.

It was his own privacy and he had the right to tell or keep it to himself. Both Lu Zhen and Leng Pan had already realized that there was more to their Uncle than meets the eye but there was nothing they could do about it if he didn't talk.

"Alright, Uncle, everyone don't worry about us. We will come back in one piece." Leng Pan intervened and comforted everyone.
