Re:Zero All Sins

Chapter 10: Roswaal training.

Subaru used a win spells as he cut a tree in multiple pieces with a wind spell, as Emilia clapped and Ram looked away

Roswaal looked as he spoke. "You know the basics, your Divin Skill is something".

Subaru chuckles as he spoke. "Yeah".

Roswaal looked at him as he spoke. "So when exactly was that you ran away from Kararagi".

Subaru looked at him as he spoke the half truth, Kararagi was like Japan in this world so this was more of the truth. "I while Ago".

Roswaal narrrows his eyes as he spoke. "You are 15th, so that means it took you while too figure that they were trying too make you there Ultimate Weapon, Kararagi Version of Reinhard, so tell me something when did you realise.

Subaru was going too speak as he stopped. [Echidna then spoke in his head. "Don't worry, just say everything I say".

Pandora then spoke. "No say what I say]

Subaru then spoke mentally. "Why don't you both take turns ok".

Echidna huffed but agreed. ["Fine, I'll go first. Say this: 'It wasn't obvious at first. They made it seem like special training, like they were just preparing me for something bigger.'"]

Subaru nodded and repeated her words out loud, keeping his tone neutral. "It wasn't obvious at first. They made it seem like special training, like they were just preparing me for something bigger."

Roswaal narrowed his eyes but nodded. "Mmm, that would make sense. They wouldn't want you to realize the truth too soon. But you're saying you ran away? How exactly did you escape?"

Pandora chimed in mentally, her voice teasing. ["Now say: 'Luck. A moment of opportunity. They underestimated me.'"]

Subaru, feeling the smug energy behind her words, rolled his eyes but repeated, "Luck. A moment of opportunity. They underestimated me."

Roswaal studied him carefully. "Oh ho~ I see. And did you have any help?"

Subaru was about to answer when he suddenly felt a strange sensation—a presence in the air. It wasn't coming from Roswaal, Emilia, or Ram. No, it felt… off. Unnatural.

[Echidna whispered urgently in his mind. "Something is coming. Be on guard."]

Subaru tensed as he noticed a flicker of movement in the trees. A shadow loomed from above.

And then, with a sudden gust of wind, something—or someone—landed in front of them.

Roswaal looked as he spoke. "How did you escape".

Subaru took a deep breath, keeping his expression steady. ["Alright, Echidna, Pandora—one of you feed me a good answer."]

Echidna spoke first. ["Say this: 'They trained me too well. They thought I was still under their control, but I used their own methods to slip away undetected.'"]

Subaru repeated her words. "They trained me too well. They thought I was still under their control, but I used their own methods to slip away undetected."

Roswaal tapped his chin, his mismatched eyes gleaming with curiosity. "Mmm~ So they made you strong enough to escape but didn't account for your free will? How very… amusing."

Emilia frowned slightly, stepping forward. "But… weren't they angry? Wouldn't they come looking for you?"

Pandora chuckled in Subaru's mind. ["Now, say this: 'Oh, they did. But I made sure they had nothing to find.'"]

Subaru smirked, keeping up the act. "Oh, they did. But I made sure they had nothing to find."

Roswaal's smile widened slightly, but his gaze was sharp. "Fascinating~ I wonder, what exactly did you leave behind to make them give up so easily?"

[Echidna clicked her tongue. "Careful. He's testing you."]

Subaru kept his poker face. "Let's just say… I left a message. One they couldn't ignore."

Roswaal let out a laugh, clapping his hands. "Oh, now that is interesting. I do hope you'll tell me more about that message someday."

Subaru forced a chuckle, but inside, he was sweating. He could tell Roswaal wasn't fully convinced—but for now, he seemed entertained enough to drop the subject.

Emilia, however, still looked concerned. "Subaru… If you ever need to talk about it, you can tell me, okay?"

Subaru smiled at her, this time more genuinely. "Thanks, Emilia. I appreciate that."

But just as things seemed to calm down, Subaru felt a sudden shift in the air.

["Warning," Satella's voice whispered in his mind. "Something… is approaching."]

Before Subaru could react, the trees rustled violently—something, or someone, was coming.

The thing then moved too Emilia, as then Subaru rushed at her as he pulled both of his dagger and blocked what ever it was, it was then sent black as it was dark colour, it looked like that fusion of rabbit and cat and fox, it has red eyes Ans was giving of elemental energy, Subaru hold his dagger he took his job as Emilia body guard seriously

Roswaal then spoke recognise that creature. "A spirit and it seems to be an Ying and Yang Nature spirit".

Subaru kept his stance firm, his daggers crossed as he studied the strange spirit. The fusion-like creature hissed, its red eyes gleaming with intelligence as it circled, radiating conflicting elemental energies—light and darkness intertwining in an eerie dance.

Roswaal observed the entity with an intrigued smile. "A Yin and Yang Nature Spirit… How very unusual~"

Emilia, standing behind Subaru, stared in shock. "A spirit? But I've never seen one like this before!"

Puck, who had been resting, suddenly emerged, floating near Emilia's shoulder. His eyes widened. "Whoa, that's not just any spirit. That thing's… rare. Super rare."

Subaru didn't lower his weapons. "So, is it dangerous or just here to say hello?"

The spirit growled, lowering itself as if preparing to pounce. The air around it crackled, shifting from cold to warm in an instant.

["Careful," Echidna warned in his mind. "This spirit is incredibly volatile. It embodies both extremes—Yin and Yang, creation and destruction."]

Pandora then added with a chuckle, ["Ooh~ It's probably here for a reason, dear Subaru. Maybe it likes you~"]

Subaru sighed. "I really don't need any more weird things liking me…"

Roswaal took a step forward, his smile unwavering. "It's testing you, Subaru. Spirits like this do not appear randomly. You must have done something to attract its attention~"

The creature let out a sharp cry before lunging again. Subaru reacted instinctively, using [Invisible Providence] to pull himself backward, dodging as the spirit's claws sliced through the air.

"Alright," Subaru muttered, gripping his daggers tightly. "If it wants a fight, I'll give it one."

Puck floated beside him, eyes glowing. "Don't be reckless, Subaru. Spirits like this… they choose their contractors through battle."

Subaru blinked. "Wait… Contractor?"

Emilia gasped. "You mean—this spirit wants Subaru as its partner?"

The spirit let out a low growl, its eyes locking onto Subaru with a look that almost seemed… expectant.

Roswaal then walked as he spoke. "If you think about it makes sense, this Spirit is not evil or harmful it just sense Subaru energy and wanted too see if found another one of it self".

Ram scopes as she spoken. "So this things came from Barusu".

Subaru blinked, still keeping his daggers ready. "Wait, wait, hold on—are you saying this thing came from me?!"

Roswaal chuckled, nodding. "Indeed~! Spirits are born from nature, but in rare cases, they can manifest from individuals with strong magical affinities. Given your unusual energy, it's not too surprising."

Ram crossed her arms, narrowing her eyes at the creature. "So Barusu is now giving birth to spirits. How annoying."

Subaru twitched. "Could you not phrase it like that?!"

Emilia looked at the spirit with curiosity. "If it's connected to Subaru, maybe it just wants to stay with him?"

Puck floated near the creature, studying it closely. "It's a unique one, alright. A Yin-Yang Spirit… that means it embodies both harmony and contradiction." He then glanced at Subaru. "Honestly, that does sound like you."

The spirit flicked its tail before slowly stepping toward Subaru, its red eyes staring deep into his.

["Oh~ Looks like it's picking you,"] Pandora chimed in his mind.

["This could be useful,"] Echidna added. ["A personal spirit would make controlling your power easier."]

Subaru sighed, rubbing the back of his head. "So, what, do I need to give it a name or something?"

The spirit let out a low purr-like sound before tapping its forehead against Subaru's leg.

Roswaal smirked. "Congratulations, Subaru~! You just gained a spirit companion."

[Daphne then spoke in Subaru mind. "If you want a name give it a fusion for the Kanji of Light and Dark]

[Carmilla then spoke. "I-i think t-this is a good idea, K-Kararagi language system is 1 to 1 of Japan]

Subaru then spoke in his mind. "That opens up so many questions I am not ready for".

Subaru sighed, looking at the small spirit rubbing against his leg. "Alright, a fusion of Light and Dark in Kanji, huh?" He thought for a moment before snapping his fingers. "How about Kōyami?"

The spirit perked up at the name, its red eyes glowing slightly as it let out a pleased sound.

[Daphne giggled in his mind. "Fufufu~ Good choice, Darling."]

[Carmilla softly spoke. "I-it sounds cute..."]

Roswaal clapped his hands together, grinning. "Oh ho~! It accepted the name! That means it's officially your contracted spirit now."

Subaru blinked. "Wait, hold on—contracted spirit? I didn't agree to a contract!"

Puck floated beside him, smirking. "Well, naming a spirit is the same as forming a contract, kid. You basically just took responsibility for it."

Subaru's eye twitched. "Wait, wait, hold on—so you're saying I'm now bound to this little guy?"

Kōyami let out a small chirp before rubbing against Subaru's leg again, sending a small pulse of Yin and Yang energy through him. Subaru shivered at the strange sensation.

Roswaal chuckled. "Oh ho~! It seems the contract has already settled in. What an interesting development, don't you think?"

Emilia smiled, stepping closer. "I think it's wonderful! Now you have a spirit partner like me and Puck!"

Ram sighed, crossing her arms. "Tch. Another troublesome pet for Barusu."

Subaru groaned, running a hand through his hair. "Great, just great. First, I get magic, then a divine blessing, now I have a spirit companion. At this rate, I'll be the next Sage or something."

[Kōyami tilted its head, letting out a small, amused chitter.]

[Pandora then spoke in Subaru's mind, her voice dripping with amusement. "Wouldn't that be fun, Love~?"]

[Echidna added smugly. "You're already halfway there."]

Subaru sighed again. "You guys aren't helping."

Roswaal clapped his hands, drawing everyone's attention. "Well then, Subaru-kun, since you've now formed a contract with a spirit, I suppose we must train you in spirit arts as well, hmm~?"

Subaru groaned but nodded. "Yeah, yeah. Let's get this over with before I somehow stumble into another ridiculous power-up."

Emilia giggled while Puck chuckled beside her. Ram just rolled her eyes.

And so, Subaru's training continued—now with the unexpected addition of his new spirit partner, Kōyami.

Emilia then spoke. "Quick Question, will Subaru get more spirits, he still has Fire, Water, Earth and Water Element".

Rosweel thought looking at him. "Probably not, but who knows".

Subaru sighed, rubbing his temples. "Great, just great. First, I get magic, then divine skills, now I have a spirit partner… and now you're saying I might get more?"

Kōyami chirped in amusement, floating around him in a swirl of yin-yang energy.

Puck smirked. "Well, it's not impossible. There have been a few people in history with multiple contracted spirits, but it's rare. Spirits are picky."

Emilia tilted her head. "But Subaru has a strong presence… if Kōyami was drawn to him, maybe other spirits will be too?"

Roswaal chuckled, eyes gleaming with curiosity. "Oh ho~! That would be most fascinating, don't you think?"

Ram scoffed. "Tch. Just don't bring home another stray, Barusu."

Subaru rolled his eyes. "It's not like I asked for this in the first place!"

[Minerva then spoke in Subaru's mind, annoyed. "Just don't overdo it, idiot! You already break yourself enough."]

[Carmilla whispered softly. "B-but… i-it's kind of cute… having spirits a-around you…"]

[Daphne hummed. "More spirits mean more power~! I approve, Darling~."]

Subaru groaned. "You guys are really not helping right now."

Roswaal clapped his hands together. "Well then, let's not get too ahead of ourselves! For now, let's see what you can do with Kōyami, shall we?"

Subaru sighed. "Fine, but if another spirit randomly decides to bond with me, I'm blaming all of you."

Kōyami just purred in amusement as the training continued.

Later that night after Subaru went too sleep, and he came back too Hanging Garden.

Sekhmet snapped her finger as she looked as she yawn as she was done explain. "That is everything about the spirits and spirit arts".

Subaru leaned back in his chair, rubbing his temples as he processed the massive info dump Sekhmet had just given him. "So… you're telling me that spirits are basically beings formed from mana, and their contracts with humans are like mutual agreements? And that stronger spirits can influence the world even without a contractor?"

Echidna nodded, sipping her tea. "Exactly. Spirits are categorized into Lesser Spirits, Greater Spirits, and Divine Spirits. Though there are some… exceptions." She glanced at Satella briefly.

Subaru raised an eyebrow but chose not to push that topic. Instead, he turned to Kōyami, who floated beside him, flickering between light and shadow. "So what's the deal with you? Are you a Greater Spirit or something else?"

Daphne chuckled. "Oh~ You got lucky, Darling. Your little pet is… special."

Carmilla hesitated but added, "Y-your spirit isn't a normal one… i-it's more like… a unique existence."

Subaru sighed. "Of course it is. Because when is anything in my life ever normal?"

Pandora smirked playfully. "Maybe that's just your charm, love~."

Minerva scoffed. "Charm? More like he's a magnet for trouble."

Satella, who had been silent for a while, finally spoke. "It doesn't matter what Kōyami is… What matters is that it chose you. That means you have a bond that no one else can break."

Subaru looked at Kōyami again, seeing the small spirit flicker with a reassuring glow. A small smile formed on his lips. "Alright then, buddy. Let's see what we can do together."

Sekhmet yawned. "Well, that's enough talk. You better get strong, Sloth-bo~y. Wouldn't want you to break all your bones again, right?"

Subaru grumbled. "You'll never let that go, will you?"

Typhon giggled. "Nope! Big Brother is fun when he messes up~."

Subaru sighed, but a small smile remained. This was his new reality, and for once, he felt like he was actually growing stronger.

Little did he know, his bond with Kōyami was only the beginning.
