Chapter 1007 LIKE A GLITCH
1007 LIKE A GLITCH
"YOU SHOULDN'T be here."
Neoma wasn't really surprised when it was the first thing that the Nero from the Dead World said to her face.
This isn't my Nero.
Hence, she wasn't hurt.
But she was annoyed that she got caught because of her own carelessness, so she was about to lash out when, suddenly, the doors opened.
"What are you doing here, Nero de Moonasterio?"
Oh, fuck.
It was the Dead World's Emperor Nikolai de Moonasterio.
The Imperial Majesty scanned the room, his cold gray eyes falling on Neoma.
Shit.
This was Papa Boss before he became a decent human being.
"You're still alive?"
Neoma was not surprised, but she was still disappointed.
Of course, she was aware of how her father treated her in the first timeline.
She had already forgiven him back in their world.
Even so, it still hurt hearing that from her Papa Boss because it was like reliving her trauma.
Hence, before she could stop herself, her big mouth suddenly had a mind of its own.
Neoma clicked her tongue while looking at Nero and Papa Boss back and forth. "Scumbags."
Naturally, both (not) Nero and (not) Papa Boss looked at her in shock.
Even Lewis, who was used to hiding his facial expressions, looked at Neoma as if he was asking her if she had gone mad.
Oops.
"Did you just curse us out?" Papa Boss asked in disbelief. "How dare you?"
"Father, that girl must have lost her mind," Nero said, scoffing. "Even if she carries the Quinzel name now, she should still be punished. Let me deal with her."
"Very well," Papa Boss— no, Emperor Nikolai de Moonasterio said coldly before turning his back on them. "I can't stand the sight of that girl."
Haaah.
Neoma clenched her hands tight while watching her (not) Papa Boss walk away.
She was also pissed by (not) Nero's arrogant look.
However, in the corner of her heart, Neoma wanted to reveal the fact that her Mama Boss was alive and currently stuck in a block of ice under the Black Ocean.
She knew that it wouldn't change anything because it was already a Dead World.
Even so…
"Don't waste your energy on fixing this world according to your wishes, Princess Neoma."
Oh.
Finally.
Neoma was relieved when Manu finally arrived. "You're late, my lord."
Yep, the Moon Priest was finally here.
By this time, Emperor Nikolai de Moonasterio stopped walking away.
Then the cold emperor turned around and knitted his eyebrows while looking at Manu in disbelief.
Even Nero looked half-confused and half-curious.
"I've seen you before," Emperor Nikolai de Moonasterio said to Manu. "Aren't you the current Moon Priest?"
"Why are you with that girl?" Nero added, looking at Neoma and Manu with suspicious eyes. "Have you joined hands to steal the throne from me?"
Aigoo.
"You've done something you shouldn't have again, Your Imperial Highness," Manu said while shaking his head. "We should get out of here now."
A magic circle appeared below Manu's feet then.
Oh, it's time to bolt.
Neoma also realized that (not) Nero and (not) Papa Boss had been frozen on their spot.
Since this is a Dead World, Lord Manu is probably stronger than the de Moonasterios here.
"Princess Neoma, let's go."
"Yes, my lord," Neoma said, holding onto the sleeve of Manu's robe because she couldn't teleport. "We should save Lewis first…"
Hmm?
She trailed off when she realized that the (not) Lewis grabbed her by the hem of her clothes when she held onto the Moon Priest's robe.
"Why?" Neoma asked, confused. "Lord Manu, how can this Lewis move?"
Manu looked over his shoulder, and even the Moon Priest looked surprised that the Lewis of the Dead World wasn't affected by his spell. "It's probably your fault, Princess Neoma."
What the fuck?
How is it my fault again?!
"Why do you both look shocked?" (not) Lewis asked suspiciously. "I can't let you go unless you undo whatever magic you did to freeze His Imperial Majesty and the Crown Prince."
Oh, no.
This Lewis is too loyal to Nero.
Unfortunately, they didn't have time for that.
Neoma smiled and gently patted Lewis' arm. "Good night, my son."
Yeah, she smacked her "son" good night.

"MOTHER, FATHER," Nero greeted his parents who unexpectedly returned to the Imperial Palace. "What are you doing here?"
It wasn't like he wasn't happy to see his parents.
He just didn't expect them to show up in his office unannounced.
"We stopped our training when we felt it, sweetie," his mother said worriedly. "Were you attacked by a herd of Soul Beasts?"
Oh, right.
That was probably why another "guest" uninvited.
"How did you deal with them, Nero?" William asked, and it looked very clear that the Spirit was worried. "Do they not wish to rest in peace yet?"
"Contrary to what you believe, not all Rosehearts want to cross to the Afterlife and get the final rest they deserve, William," Nero said in a serious tone. "Some of them want to stay as Soul Beasts— my Soul Beasts, to be precise."
William, who wanted to free the Soul Beasts the most, looked heartbroken.
Even his mother looked a bit sad because of the news.
But what could they do?
We have to respect their will.
"Can you do it, Nero?" his father asked. Unlike his mother and William, his father looked more curious about something else other than the Soul Beasts' decision. "Can you tame all the Soul Beasts that followed you here?"
Argh.
Nero flinched when he remembered how his bedroom was currently thrashed after "playing" with the wild Soul Beasts.
Even Zeru and Sev— his original Soul Beasts— were a bit hurt from the "game."
"I'm getting there, Father—"
"Your Imperial Majesty!"
It was Melvin who entered his office without knocking, but it looked urgent so Nero didn't scold his closest aide.
Melvin looked surprised to see the former emperor and empress, though.
"What is it, Melvin?" Nero asked to make the secretary focus again. "Why did you come here running as if you have left your manners at home?"
"I apologize for my behavior, but we received an urgent message from the Hazelden Kingdom, Your Imperial Majesty," Melvin said, and then he gulped hard before he shared the news. "It seems like the enemies have started marching towards the Hazelden Kingdom."

AHA.
Trevor raised an eyebrow at Regina Crowell after he heard the news that turned the Hazelden Kingdom's Royal Palace upside down.
It seemed like an army had been spotted approaching the small kingdom.
They had already expected that.
Well, to be precise, Princess Neoma had already seen it coming from a mile away.
And that's why my brilliant Moon Princess helped King Glenn prepare for the enemy attack.
"Are they here to get you?" Trevor asked, half-curious and half-amused. "What are you going to do about Dilan Crowell, then?"
"Release that bastard," Regina Crowell said, smirking. "It's time for me to move."
