Chapter 325: Growth II
Finally, the day that Canna had been eagerly waiting for arrived. It started as a small tremor, barely noticeable at first, but then it began to grow in intensity, shaking the ground beneath the sanctuary. The evolution of Aurelis and Terrorfang, two of Canna's most powerful allies, was reaching its climax. They were about to fully ascend to disaster rank, an event that would change the sanctuary's power structure forever.
Canna, sensing the tremors, immediately teleported from place to place around the sanctuary, making sure everything was secure. His first stop was the Verdant Peaks, where Sylvanar, the 190-foot-tall guardian tree, watched over the sanctuary. Sylvanar's branches swayed gently in the wind, undisturbed by the tremors, but even the ancient tree seemed to acknowledge that something monumental was happening.
"Everything's stable here," Canna muttered to himself, nodding at Sylvanar before disappearing again in a flash of lightning.
The next place he checked was the Amazon, the heart of the sanctuary, where marshes, jungles, and rivers intermingled. The creatures here were growing restless, sensing the immense energy in the air. Stormrend, the hydra with its crackling lightning-infused body, coiled itself protectively, watching the horizon as if it could sense the power that was about to be unleashed.
By the time Canna returned to the epicenter of the tremors, the ground had begun to shake violently. And then, with a final burst of energy, Terrorfang's evolution completed.
Terrorfang, once a 150-foot crimson gorilla, now stood even taller and more imposing. His size had increased to a staggering 210 feet, his fur now a deeper, more intense shade of crimson, glowing faintly as if radiating raw power. His eyes, once merely menacing, now blazed with an otherworldly intensity, glowing a deep, fiery red. The crimson fur that covered his muscular frame had grown thicker and more pronounced, giving him a regal, almost mythic appearance. The power radiating from him was suffocating, making even the air around him vibrate.
Canna couldn't help but grin as he looked up at the newly evolved Terrorfang. "Impressive, old friend," he muttered. "You've come a long way."
Terrorfang let out a low growl, his massive fists slamming into the ground, causing shockwaves that rippled through the area. Even the strongest warriors of the sanctuary would think twice before challenging him now.
Solara, Zephyros, Dravos, and the other disaster-ranked beings gathered nearby to witness the event. They stood in awe as Terrorfang roared, his voice echoing through the sanctuary like thunder. They could feel the shift in power, knowing that Terrorfang was now an even greater force to be reckoned with.
But the day was far from over.
A few hours later, it was Aurelis' turn to complete his evolution. As the tremors intensified again, Canna stood with his arms crossed, eagerly awaiting the final transformation of the golden lion.
Aurelis, once 120 feet tall, was now towering at an incredible 170 feet. His golden mane, which had always been radiant, now shone with the brilliance of a thousand suns, each strand of fur seemingly imbued with the power of the stars themselves. His body, rippling with muscles, had become even more defined, and his aura had expanded tenfold. Golden flames surrounded him, and wherever his paws touched the ground, small suns would ignite momentarily before dissipating.
The very sight of him was awe-inspiring. Aurelis was no longer just a disaster-ranked lion; he had become a symbol of celestial power. His eyes burned with a radiant light, and the air around him shimmered as if filled with sunlight.
Canna watched with pride as Aurelis roared, his voice carrying a divine weight. Solara, Zephyros, and the others exchanged impressed glances, acknowledging that Aurelis had surpassed his previous limits by a vast margin. Even Sylvanar, watching from a distance, seemed to sway in respect.
"Aurelis and Terrorfang… you both have become far more powerful than I expected," Canna mused aloud, marveling at their growth.
With these two fully evolved disaster-ranked beings, the sanctuary had gained a significant boost in strength. Not only were they larger and more imposing, but their abilities had also grown exponentially. Terrorfang's physical strength was now unrivaled, capable of causing earthquakes with a single punch, while Aurelis' celestial flames could incinerate entire armies.
As the tremors subsided and the ground finally settled, the other disaster-ranked beings, including Solara, Zephyros, and Dravos, approached Canna to congratulate him on his newly evolved allies.

"It's a new era for the sanctuary," Canna said, beaming with pride. "And we're only getting started."

Meanwhile, on the other side of the sanctuary, Kael was dealing with a growing problem. The sanctuary had three primary prey animals: groundhogs, horned rabbits, and rockfowls. Each of these species was housed in massive pens, with each pen covering an area the size of ten football fields. The issue wasn't with the rabbits or the fowls, though—it was with the groundhogs.
Groundhogs, the first creatures to inhabit the sanctuary, had started to breed at an alarming rate. Despite the growing population of the sanctuary, the groundhogs were reproducing so quickly that they were now competing with the blossom shells for dominance. Currently, their population ranged between 10 and 11 million, and their numbers were growing faster than anyone could manage.
The reason for this explosive growth was a new phenomenon: the emergence of "boar kings." These rare groundhogs, with only one born out of every 1,000, were massive, true calamity-ranked beasts. Each boar king had a circular body as big as a school bus and six-foot tusks. Even the normal sanctuary warriors were having difficulty dealing with them due to their tough fur and aggressive nature.
Kael had been wracking his brain for days, trying to figure out how to manage the boar kings. They couldn't simply be ignored, as they posed a threat to the balance of the sanctuary. Then, inspiration struck him, courtesy of a passing child who casually mentioned, "Those are big groundhogs, ma! I wonder if there would be a competition on who can take them down the fastest."
Kael's eyes lit up with excitement. A competition! Of course! The sanctuary could hold a contest where teams of five would compete to see who could take down a boar king the fastest. Not only would this help manage the boar king population, but it would also be a great way to keep the warriors engaged and sharp.
He quickly started drafting the rules and logistics for the competition. It would be an excellent opportunity to pit the sanctuary's strongest warriors against the boar kings while turning a problem into an event that the entire sanctuary could get excited about.
"I'll make sure Canna approves this," Kael thought with a grin, already imagining the warriors lining up to take on the challenge.
The sanctuary was always evolving, and with these new developments, it was clear that the future held even more excitement.
