Chapter 35: Chapter 35: Talks and Quest?
Kenji sat quietly at his desk, the night soft and still outside his window. The faint glow of the Multiversal Chat System illuminated his room with a pale blue light, casting long shadows on the walls. He leaned forward, opening the system's main menu with deliberate focus.
He wanted to send them the animes and light novels but the problem? This world didn't have them.
Oh, they had similar things alright. Abominations calling themselves proper anime. Things like Drag-so Ball.
He shivered, he had tried to see what it was about and had nearly coughed out blood just seeing the first episode and then there were the others like Memma, Clean, and the greatest blasphemy of all....One piece.
Not bad?....That's what any reincarnator would think only to find out that it's a story of a perverted dude going on a journey to find the legendary one piece...and I mean a ONE PIECE.
He had vowed that when he got strong enough he was going to find the creator of this and kill him. No ifs or buts. Dude has to die.
Anyway problem is that he wants to send them and the only source is his memory and that's not good enough with the spotty holes that he can't remember.
"System," he muttered under his breath, narrowing his eyes. He needed a solution, a way to extract his memory in full or something at least. He had finally found a function after a while that would help him repair or rather recreate every moment of what he had watched and send it to them at the cost of system points.
Luckily even tho he hadn't gotten or done any missions he had a bit given the daily rolls and his luck allowing for at least 80 points a day.
A gentle chime rang out in reply, calm and mechanical, almost like a friendly little bell.
[System Alert: Memory Restoration Option Available. Cost: 1200 System Points.]
Kenji winced slightly. One thousand two hundred points. Ouch. That was more than half his total reserve, a hefty chunk of his hard-earned points. He had been saving them for something important, some rare upgrade for his magic or a powerful new item that could really make a difference. But this was something that mattered more.
[Confirm? YES/NO]
He didn't hesitate. The choice was clear.
He pressed YES.
A radiant light surged across his vision, not blinding or painful, but warm and encompassing, like being wrapped in a comforting blanket. It rushed over his consciousness like a massive wave of clarity, washing away the mental fog and his mind seemed to clear up.
Instantly, it all came flooding back, not just as vague impressions of episodes, but with vivid, almost overwhelming detail, Fairy Tail, with its chaotic guild hall and powerful mages, No Game No Life, a world where everything was decided by games of wit and strategy, The Death Mage Who Doesn't Want a Fourth Time, a dark yet compelling journey of an undead hero.
Their stories. Their vibrant worlds. The triumphs, the heartbreaks, the sheer epicness of their lives. It was all there, perfectly restored, as if he'd just finished watching and reading their entire sagas.
"Whoa…" he whispered, as he stared blankly at the interface, overwhelmed by the sudden influx of knowledge. With a deep breath, he pulled himself together opened the gift function in the chat system uploaded the memories, and sent them to everyone.
[Administrator - The Gamer]: Here they are.
The chat went quiet. For five minutes, there was nothing. Not even a typing bubble, which was usually a sign that someone was composing a message. Just a heavy, expectant silence.
Then—
[Red Cake Boss]: Thank you for this Kenji. I truly appreciate it.
[Eternal Virgin]: Yeah, I can't wait to see myself looking all awesome.
A silence fell again Kenji smiled softly he noticed Sora and Erza responding somewhat stiffly, a certain hesitance.
Not as smoothly as before, they must be nervous, He paused for a moment before addressing them gently.
[Kenji]: "Hey, I just want you both to know that you don't have to jump into this immediately. Take your time to really process everything until you feel ready before checking it out. It's a lot to take in. It's important to try to feel comfortable."
[Red Cake Boss]: It's weird. Like holding a mirror to your own soul, seeing every single flaw and triumph laid bare....Thanks, Kenji. This is a lot to take in, but...thank you.
Kenji leaned back and let the moment settle. The air in the chat, though digital, felt lighter as if a great weight had been lifted. But there was more he wanted to ask, a practical matter that had been on his mind.
[Administrator - The Gamer]: So, has anyone taught of taking any side quests yet? I've been curious about them, but haven't had the chance myself.
[Self-Proclaimed Human]: No. They appeared to be quests that offered minimal advantage depending of the quest and would waste time than help me. Most of them i have no idea what they are about and have little time to do it.besides I am currently occupied with more critical priorities—expanding my empire, I currently started adventure school so no time.
[Eternal Virgin]: Nah. Would love to, but I can't exactly leave Shiro alone, you know? She's my anchor, my other half. And let's be honest, I'm not strong enough to risk any of the harder ones yet. Gotta grind first in my own world before I start tackling multiversal odd jobs that could get me wiped.
[Red Cake Boss]: The guild's been relentless lately. We're swamped with S-class missions, even some issues from the Magic Council. Honestly, I skimmed the side quests the system offered. They felt like a joke.
Kenji chuckled at their responses, understanding each one completely. Their priorities were clear, their reasons valid, reflecting their unique personalities and the demands of their own worlds.
[Administrator - The Gamer]: Fair enough. Makes total sense. But I've been thinking—it's time I gave one a try. I've been leveling and training in my Instant Dungeon, sure, building up my stats. But real growth needs challenges that push your limits, not just repetitive grinding. Maybe I'll pick one of the easier subquests, and see how it goes. I need to test my new abilities in a real scenario, that wasn't my world.
[Eternal Virgin]: Alright, but seriously, don't pick "Fight Doom Slayer with a stick." that's a one-way ticket to respawn land or death. That's just suicide, man!
[Red Cake Boss]: Stay sharp. If something feels off, if your instincts warn you, back out immediately. Your safety is paramount; do not take unnecessary risks if you're not ready for it.
[Self-Proclaimed Human]: If you survive and acquire any information of value, document it thoroughly. Your experience may inform our future decisions regarding these anomalous quests, providing crucial data for our collective understanding.
[Administrator - The Gamer]: Understood. I'll try to keep my head on and not make stupid decisions, This could be the beginning of something big...
With the conversation fading and the chat falling into its usual calm, a comfortable silence settling over the group as they likely returned to their own worlds and their newly acquired 'life stories,' Kenji opened the quest tab again, this time with a new perspective.
Some really were ridiculous, truly outlandish. Others were vague, their objectives shrouded in mystery. A few… looked deadly, hinting at encounters far beyond his current capabilities.
How should he go about picking a world to start in.
Maybe he should start with Bleach, ohohoh maybe one piece or maybe even Typemoon or berserker...hahahahahah. what a joke as if he would ever touch those with a thousand mile long pole.
Hmmmmmmmmmm.
'I got it' he rubbed his chin. 'a world I could test and see how sub quest are like, not too powerful at the beginning of the plot, nothing too horrifying, no total chance of death--- maybe be a few percentages but nothing that would happen if I keep my head down and where even as weak as I am I won't die straight up and one he was knowledgeable about'
Yes, it had to be this one.
A bit cliche but what the heck.
The world would be....
