Seven Deadly Sins System

Chapter 131: Meeting an Acquaintance

Chu Wuyao walked into the secret room that the previous gathering took place and looked at the corpses that were still sitting on their chair.

There were no injuries or wounds on their bodies, yet they had lost their breath and their aura had completely disappeared, as if they died in their sleep.

In fact, Chu Wuyao knew that all these people had died in the same exact way, with their consciousness getting wiped out after their death in the Secret Realm.

Stepping closer, Chu Wuyao didn't pay much attention to most of these people and walked straight towards the middle-aged woman.

In the woman's hand lay some somewhat familiar red runes, that Chu Wuyao had seen many times before.

Just as she was staring at these runes, a burning sensation came form her shoulder and small tattoo appeared, flashing with a deep red light.

When she saw this, Chu Wuyao acted quickly and used her Mist World Authority to suppress it, sealing it again.

"Sure enough, these marks are related.", she whispered.

Chu Wuyao remembered that this mark was absorbed by her body when she killed Ren Sang and she had previously guessed that it should be a means left behind by someone to track the killer.

Originally, she thought that she should be able to remove it, but although her understanding of the Mist World Authority had improved dramatically and she had spent many hours trying to get rid of it, she had yet to succeed.

No matter how hard she tried, there would always be a small trace of this mark remaining on her shoulder, as if it had been completely attached to her and had become a part of her.

At first, Chu Wuyao thought that this should be a strange skill, but by now, she had realized that this mark was not a skill at all, but an ability of an Authority.

Recalling the words she had previously overheard from Xiao Li, Chu Wuyao realized what she was going on.

"This should be created by Mu Huanzhi through the use of his Authority."

"Moreover, it seems that the grade of his Authority is very high and his understanding of it surpasses mine. Otherwise, I should have been able to remove it with my Mist World Authority."

While she was thinking, a red mark flew out of Xiao Li's body and was about to land on her, but Chu Wuyao had already been prepared.

With a thought of her mind, a sword made out of light and surrounded by white mist appeared in her hand and she swung it forward.

"Clang!"

The sword fell on the mark and instantly shattered it, causing it to split into countless tiny pieces.

Before these pieces could fall to the ground, they had completely disappeared, as if they had been erased by an invisible hand.

At the same time, the runes in Xiao Li's hand also flashed for a split second and then disappeared.

When Chu Wuyao looked at this scene, she didn't take any actions to try and keep them, but let them disappear, knowing that it would be impossible to stop their destruction.

With the destruction of the runes and having already seen that there was nothing else of value, Chu Wuyao waved her hand and created a golden flame, before dropping it to the floor.

The moment the flame came into contact with the floor, it instantly lit it on fire and then spread at a terrifyingly high speed, soon spreading everywhere in the building.

Just when the flames looked ready to engulf Chu Wuyao, a popping sound came from her body and the next moment, her figure turned into dense white mist.

The headquarters of the Holy Church are located just outside the capital of the Sun Kingdom and they are composed of many tall, luxurious buildings made out of valuable materials.

These buildings work together, creating something akin to a small city.

However, compared to a real city that is populated by ordinary people, the pavement of the roads in this city are squeaky clean, while the people that walk in the streets wear luxurious clothes that are embroidered with gems and gold.

As Chu Wuyao walked through the city's buildings, she could see that the people around her were looking at her with respect in their eyes, making her a little happy.

A smile appeared on her face and she nodded back politely in greeting.

Despite this, her steps were pretty quick and before long, she had arrived in front of the main building of the headquarters, a large temple, which was the place where the High Priests of the Holy Church lived.

Just outside the temple, a huge golden statue that was many meters tall had been erected and it exuded a supreme majesty, while there were many people kneeling in front of it and praying devoutly.

Although about a month had passed since she became Hayden's apprentice and joined the Holy Church, Chu Wuyao still found this scene quite funny.

After all, the statue that these people were praying to was neither humanoid nor majestic, as it was just a big golden ball.

Chu Wuyao was still not used to the fact that the Creation God, the deity that supposedly created the world and enjoyed the worship of most people of the Sun Kingdom was actually a big ball.

Suppressing these thoughts and resisting her urge to laugh at this strange scene, Chu Wuyao greeted the people that were praying and then walked into the temple.

Just like the rest of the headquarters, the interior of the temple was very luxurious, evidence of the Holy Church's wealth and its high status.

There were paintings on the walls, depicting the scene of various battles, while there were stone statues on regular intervals, taking the appearance of the many High Priests that had died fighting for the Holy Church.

As she was already familiar with it, Chu Wuyao navigated through the corridors of the temple with ease, and after she walked down a spiral staircase, she arrived in a dark, underground tunnel that seemed completely out of place in this otherwise holy building.
