Seven Deadly Sins System

Chapter 133: Saint

Although Chu Wuyao stood right in front of the cell and didn't care about hiding herself, Zhao Peng didn't raise his head at all to look at her at all, his blank eyes and staring at the wall on the right side of his cell.

There was a lack of vitality in his eyes and they were filled with despair, as if he had gone through torture.

However, from the aura on his body, Chu Wuyao understood that his actual physical condition was fine, and it was his mental health that had deteriorated.

Recalling what she had read in the prisoner's files previously, Chu Wuyao felt a little emotional as she looked at him.

Compared to the other prisoners, who had committed various atrocities and were evil, Zhao Peng was actually innocent, neither sacrificing people to improve his strength nor having done anything evil at all.

The reason why he was caught by the Holy Church was not because of his actions, but because of his companion's betrayal.

According to the files she read, Zhao Peng and his companion were actually lucky enough to be transported almost next to each other to this world and seemingly knowing each other, the two worked together to survive and deal with any dangerous situation they found themselves in.

Just when everything was going fine and the two had managed to regain some of their strength, his companion actually turned around and betrayed him, giving his information to the Holy Church and asking to imprison him.

Thinking of this, Chu Wuyao subconsciously turned her head and looked at the cell on the right of Zhao Peng's, at the direction that he was staring blankly.

In that cell, there was a beautiful middle aged woman sitting on the cold floor, with her eyes closed and mediating.

Unlike the other prison cells, the cell that the woman was in was fairly luxurious for a prison, with a bed, a table, a wooden chair and other such appliances.

Moreover, the condition of this woman was very good, and although her strength was sealed, she had complete control over her body.

When Chu Wuyao looked at her, the woman instantly opened her eyes and looked at her coldly, then opened her mouth to speak:

"Has the Holy Church sent you to give me another mission?"

"Don't worry. As long as you unseal my cultivation, I will work hard to slaughter every single enemy of the Holy Church and the Creation God."

"I believe that I've already proved my devotion to the Creation God.", the woman said, her voice cold and filled with murderous intent.

As someone that had spent a lot of time with Li Ruoshi, Chu Wuyao had become used to indifference, but compared to the woman in front of her, Li Ruoshi's cold character was nothing.

The coldness in the woman in front of her didn't come from her character or her attitude, but it was deep-rooted, making one feel that they were looking at a piece of cold ice.

Hearing her question, Chu Wuyao didn't answer, but just shook her head.

In response, the woman nodded her head slightly and closed her eyes, returning back to meditating.

Seeing this scene, Chu Wuyao let out a sigh and felt that the cultivation techniques of the major forces in the Cultivation World were indeed very miraculous, but they were also very evil.

This cold woman was actually a disciple of the Ice God Palace and the technique she practiced was the Ruthless Technique.

From the other prisoners, Chu Wuyao had already obtained this technique and had a rough understanding of it.

The Ruthless Technique is a technique that forces cultivators to gradually let go of their emotions and to increase their strength, they have to become more and more indifferent.

However, if it was just this, it wouldn't be enough to make Chu Wuyao so surprised.

What actually surprised Chu Wuyao was the Ruthless Technique's accompanying skill, a skill named "Ruthless Love".

To practice this skill, a cultivator has to choose a person to fall in love with and then, make the other person develop feelings for them and fall in love with them too.

This is already very weird, but to practice this skill to perfection, the cultivator has to then kill or betray their lover, causing them intense despair.

The more despair their lover feels, the more the cultivator's strength will improve.

Obviously, the reason why this woman betrayed Zhao Peng was not for anything else, but to practice this skill.

Thinking of this and recalling that Zhao Peng had helped her many times before by answering her doubts, Chu Wuyao glanced at him with some pity and took a piece of bread out of her space ring, then threw it in the cell.

Unfortunately, even then, Zhao Peng didn't show any reaction, as if he was a piece of wood, a dead thing.

Just when Chu Wuyao was about to open her mouth and say something, the sound of the large door opening spread in the underground prison, followed by quick, hurried steps.

A few seconds later, one of the guards she had met previously arrived in this place and when he saw her, he breathed a sigh of relief.

"Priest Audrey, the High Priest Hayden is looking for you."

"He ordered me to inform you to go to his place as soon as possible,", the guard said with a solemn expression.

Hearing this, Chu Wuyao swallowed the words of comfort she was about to say to Zhao Peng and after taking a last look at him, she followed the guard and walked out of the underground prison.

Although Chu Wuyao had only met Hayden once over the last month, she was still aware of where to find him.

Without needing any guidance, she walked through the long corridors of the temple, spending some time to admire the luxurious decoration.

Before long, Chu Wuyao had arrived outside a large hall and after she pushed the door open, she walked inside.
