Chapter 146: Formation Expert

A few hours later, Chu Wuyao, the two High Priests, and the two Great Magicians were standing almost next to each other, looking at the huge black palace in the distance.

Behind them, there were about two hundred or so members of the Holy Church standing, with most of them being True Warriors and Magicians, while there were about a dozen or so Great Warriors.

If the strength of the whole Holy Church was taken into account, these people were nothing, but in the current situation, this team of less than three hundred people had turned into the hope of the Holy Church to break out of the formation.

"How is it?", one of the Great Magicians asked with a hint of nervousness in his voice as he turned his head and looked at Chu Wuyao.

The Great Magician couldn't be blamed.

They already knew that the core of the formation was very likely to be inside this palace and if they wanted to get out of the formation, they had to destroy it.

If Chu Wuyao was unable to deal with these formations, then not only them, but everyone in the Holy Church would be in trouble.

Chu Wuyao didn't immediately answer his question but casually waved her hand.

In response, as if her hand had removed an invisible curtain, the place in front of them suddenly changed.

Where there was originally nothing, a semi-transparent black veil appeared, with many runes flashing continuously on its surface.

These runes squirmed around the black veil and from time to time, they would shine with a strange red light.

Chu Wuyao looked at these runes and squinted her eyes, while her expression turned somewhat solemn.

Seeing these, the High Priests and the Great Magicians held their breath, waiting for her to speak.

A few minutes passed and just when everyone was starting to get anxious, Chu Wuyao finally opened her mouth.

"There should be no issue dealing with the formation, but you have to protect me for a few minutes and make sure that no one discovers us."

"Don't worry, we'll be sure to protect you Saint.", the bald High Priest immediately responded.

Hearing this, Chu Wuyao didn't say anything else but looked at the black formation.

Then, with a serious expression, her hands moved and gently brushed against it.

Her movements were slow and methodical, making her look like a formation expert.

In fact, what no one could see was that every time Chu Wuyao touched the formation, a trace of white mist would rush out of her index fingers and flow into the formation, becoming part of it.

Slowly, the white mist gathered in certain certain nodes of the formation, waiting for Chu Wuyao's signal to explode.

That's right.

How could it be possible that Chu Wuyao suddenly turned into a formation expert?

Her way of dealing with formations was quite crude: she just let her Mist World Authority become part of the formation and then exploded it.

While Chu Wuyao was doing this, the clueless people behind her were looking at her with admiration.

"The formation attainments of the Saint are truly extraordinary.", one of the two Great Magicians couldn't help but let out a sigh in admiration.

A few minutes passed in the blink of an eye and Chu Wuyao's actions suddenly stopped.

Looking back, she looked at the two High Priests and nodded her head.

"It's done. I've already taken control of the formation and can deactivate it whenever I want."

"It's just that the Demon Cult has left behind a backup and the formation will explode when I do so", she said.

"Don't worry. As long as this formation is destroyed, dealing with those cultists is very easy.", the bald High Priest smiled and patted her on the shoulder in encouragement.

Resisting the urge to cut his head off, Chu Wuyao nodded her head and raised her right hand.

A few seconds later, under everyone's eyes, she suddenly lowered it and spoke up:

"It's done!"

The moment she spoke, the black formation started trembling, as if an earthquake was taking place.

"Boom! Boom! Boom!"

The next second, with the continuous sound of explosions, the formation shattered into pieces.

The loud noise alarmed the members of the Demon Cult inside the palace, while the members of the Holy Church became excited.

"For the Lord!"

"Kill these damn heretics!"

"Lord, help us purify this filthy world!"

Loud shouts came out of the mouths of the members of the Holy Church, as they rushed towards the palace in the distance with red eyes.

Of course, the cultists quickly recovered from the shock and rushed out to meet them.

"Bang! Boom!"

The earth below Chu Wuyao's feet trembled, as the long-awaited "war" finally started.

When she raised her head to look around, she found that the members of each religion had chosen their respective opponents and were fighting fiercely against each other, using every means they had to deal with their enemy.

In just a few rounds of fighting, many people had already died, while the red color of the land below their feet had become even deeper.

Seeing this, Chu Wuyao let out a sigh.

"In fact, all these people are mere cannon fodder. The only deciding factor in this battle is the fight between the Holy Realm practitioners.", she thought and looked at the sky, where Irene and the bald High Priest were currently fighting against two demons of the Demon Cult.

One of these two demons had turned into a three-meter-in-height ape that had red fur all over its body, while the other one had maintained its human body, but its head had been replaced by a crow's head with a sharp beak.

These two demons used the strength of their physical body to fight against the two High Priests, who continuously cast various spells in order to defend against their attacks.

From time to time, they would cast a spell to knock the demons back and then attack them.

No one had a clear advantage for the time being and it was obvious that the fight would not end any time soon.

In Chu Wuyao's mind, whether the Holy Church would win or not would be decided by these people, while all the other people were basically sent to die.

This was true for both the members of the Holy Church and the members of the Demon Cult.

Taking this into account, Chu Wuyao didn't choose to rush forward.

Although with her strength, it would be unlikely that something could endanger her life, she wouldn't be stupid to put her life in danger.

Instead, with a move of her mind, dense white mist suddenly appeared around her and then squirmed, engulfing her figure and making her disappear.

Then, she stepped forward and walked towards the black palace in the distance.

When she passed by the battlefield of the Holy Church and the Demon Cult, the people seemed to ignore her existence and didn't attack her, focusing on their respective opponents.

A few seconds later, Chu Wuyao had arrived in front of the door of the palace.

Without taking even a single look at the slaughter that was taking place behind her back, she raised her foot and stepped inside.
