Shadow Slave: A Supreme Bond (Sunphis Wedding One-Shot)

Chapter 27: Starlight and The Moon

The world shuddered under the immense pressure of the Dusk Titan and the Cursed Terror. Their mere presence distorted the battlefield, bending reality beneath the weight of their monstrous wills. Even the Great Nightmare Creatures felt the crushing force of their clash—some hesitated, others turned to flee.

Not that a single one would escape.

The fearless government Saints were already at work, cutting down any who tried.

THUMP.

A loud, sickening crunch echoed as a fleeing Great Beast almost reached the edge of the battlefield—only to be stopped in its tracks.

"Where the hell do you think you're running, you rat bastard?"

A massive shadow loomed over the creature. Then, Effie's foot came crashing down.

The Giantess trampled it mercilessly, grinding its grotesque body into the dirt like a child smashing a broken toy. She snarled, raising her foot again.

"You think you can crawl away from this?"

Thud. Again. Thud. And again.

"Keep your filthy paws off my home!"

Beside her, a wisp of mist coiled into existence, condensing into the form of a mesmerizing woman. Jet landed lightly next to the ruined corpse, scythe resting against her shoulder. In her other hand, she held a severed head, its soulless eyes still frozen in horror.

She exhaled.

"Calm down, Effie. It's already dead."

Effie paused, blinking. "Oh."

Jet shook her head and tossed the head aside. "How many?"

Effie grinned. "You first."

Her voice boomed, drawing the attention of two more Great monstrosities in the distance.

"Two Great Beasts, one Great Monster," Jet answered, glancing up. Her gaze lingered on the towering titan of shadows in the distance—on the colossus wreathed in slithering black flames, its three orbs of dark radiance pulsing above its head.

She sighed. "And here I thought you were the big one."

"Huh?"

Effie narrowed her eyes, already cracking her knuckles.

"What did you just say?"

Jet smirked, pointing at the towering Dusk Titan. "You look like an ant next to that."

Effie followed her gaze, then burst into laughter.

"Oh, that?" She snorted, slamming her fist into an oncoming Great Beast and pitching it across the battlefield like a baseball. "Let Sunny enjoy it while he can."

Her grin widened. "It's not every day he gets to brag about his height, you know?"

Jet chuckled.

Before she could respond, a murder of crows materialized in front of them, shifting and twisting until they merged into a single figure.

Saint Cor.

"The lower-class Great Nightmare creatures have all been eliminated," he declared. His sharp eyes flicked toward the distance. "Now we move together. We will intercept that."

He pointed toward the distance, where a Great Titan—an unholy fusion of grotesque, distorted limbs, all converging toward a single, writhing sphere of flesh and bone, rampaged.

Jet hesitated. "Saint Cor, are you sure we can—"

"We can." A calm, yet firm voice interrupted her. Cassie appeared before them, already summoning a Memory.

"Sunny is sending one of his Shadows to assist us."

Hearing that, Jet relaxed slightly. "Good. Which one? The strange one? The faceless one? That female one?"

Cassie shook her head. "No. They're all busy with the Cursed Creatures." She turned her head slightly, gesturing behind her. "He sent... that one."

The shadows rippled. Then, a large figure emerged.

A warrior clad in magnificent obsidian armor strode forth, towering six feet over them. Six powerful limbs extended from its form—two were scythes, two were pincers, and two bore a sword and spear. A brilliant insignia shone upon its chest:

A star, emanating a piercing light through darkness—illuminating a legion of warriors beneath it.

It turned its cold, ancient gaze toward Cassie—then lowered its limbs, bowing in reverence.

"Your orders...?"

Its voice was deep, rumbling like an ancient warrior awakened from an endless slumber.

Saint Cor smiled. "A Supreme Terror." His expression gleamed with approval. "What an incredible Echo Sovereign Sunless has."

Cassie tilted her head slightly. "It's not exactly an Echo, but close enough" she murmured, stepping closer.

She whispered something into the warrior's ear. It straightened.

"As you wish."

Without hesitation, the Starlight Legion Warrior raised its sword, dark energy crackling along the blade. Then, it moved—its towering form surging forward like an unstoppable force, heading straight for the monstrous Titan in the distance.

Cassie turned."Follow it. I'll explain our plan on the way."

Without hesitation, the three Saints moved, charging into battle.

...

A colossal corpse lay mutilated in the heart of the battlefield. Its grotesque limbs, once brimming with malice, now lay melted like wax. Its severed head rested a short distance away, eyes frozen wide in terror.

Signs of poison and other unnatural corruptions marred its body—burnt, torn, and scarred beyond recognition.

The Cursed Beast was dead. And standing atop its ruined remains was a woman—her raven-black hair flowing in the wind, her glistening eyes locked onto the sky as if gazing at a distant promise.

Near the corpse, a group of masked figures observed the aftermath in silence, their faces unreadable behind the veils of their disguises.

Finally, one of them spoke.

"That was easier than I thought." A young man with blue hair stepped forward, his tone light, almost amused. Who said Cursed Creatures are tough? We're tougher."

"It was just a beast," Rain exhaled. And we had the Sovereigns' domain helping us." Another figure nodded. "In any case, we still have more of them to take care of. Let's not waste time—"

Before he could finish, one of the masked figures wordlessly removed his mask. Underneath was a young man with a carefree smile... and sharp, serious eyes. He turned on his heel, already preparing to leave.

A hand landed on his shoulder.

"Where are you going?" The blue-haired man's tone was devoid of friendliness.

The masked man, Noctis, didn't turn fully—just tilted his head slightly, gesturing toward the distance.

"Those brats need my help."

The blue-haired man followed his gaze. Across the battlefield, a massive, nightmarish creature loomed over a group of Saints, its body surrounded by a swarm of smaller abominations.

The Saints fought desperately, their bodies battered, their movements strained. They weren't winning. They were barely managing to keep themselves alive.

Yet not a single one retreated. Not a single one gave up. As if killing the Great Tyrant before them mattered more than their own lives.

The blue-haired man clicked his tongue.

"Leave them. They haven't made any mistakes yet."

His grip tightened slightly.

"We'll step in when they utilize all two. But right now, we need you here."

Noctis smirked. "Just because they can make mistakes... doesn't mean they should."

He took another step forward, jerking his arm free.

"Dying is painful, you know?"

Then, he paused—his gaze flickering toward another masked figure. A silent one. One with sharp, ebony hair.

Noctis grinned.

"Besides... I doubt you actually need me here. You're all strong."

And then, his entire form dissolved into a cascade of silver light. Moonlight exploded where he stood, swirling like liquid silver.

The air shimmered.

A moment later, a titanic wolf made of moonlight emerged from the swirling glow—soaring through the sky, racing toward the battlefield where the Saints fought for their lives.

The blue-haired man clicked his tongue in frustration.

"Where does he get off acting like he's better than us?"

His voice was filled with irritation. He turned toward Rain, scowling.

"I don't know why you insist on bringing him along. The guy can't even use Memories, has zero survival instincts, and throws himself into reckless situations like he can't die or something."

His gaze followed the distant figure of the shimmering wolf.

"He doesn't even know how to work with a team. He's clearly too weak—unsuitable for our clan."

Rain didn't answer right away. Instead, she lifted a single hand... and pointed.

"Observe."

All heads turned toward the battlefield. Where, beneath the silver glow of the moon, the luminous wolf finally reached the Great Tyrant.

Rain's voice was quiet.

"All your doubts will be cleared."
