She Belongs To The Devil

Chapter 794: Confession

Ariel widened her eyes in shock when she heard Damien.

Yes, he did whisper to her, but there were a lot of people in the vicinity who could hear the whispers really well.

So, Ariel gave a glare to Damien for saying such a thing out of the blue, in the presence of everyone. And she pointed ahead of her and mouthed, "My dad!"

In his excitement, Damien had completely forgotten that Ariel's father was also with them. Fortunately for him, he looked busy talking with Zach and it didn't look like he heard.

Damien gave a nervous laugh to Ariel and then said while rubbing his nape, "I was asking if I can look at your wrist. I would love to take the measurement so that I can buy a beautiful bracelet for you later."

For a second, Ariel wondered if she had misheard Damien earlier. But her mind soon caught up with the fact that he was simply trying to correct the mistake that he had made earlier.

And she also played along, "You want to buy me a bracelet? That's very thoughtful of you. Here." She held out her hand in front of Damien and smiled.

Damien's face had already turned red with embarrassment. He took her hand and measured her wrist with his fingers. "Okay, I got it," he whispered again.

While the two of them continued talking about the bracelet, Kenneth looked really uncomfortable. He was walking not too far away from the two of them. And he had clearly heard what Damien had said to Ariel.

He looked at his cousin and then asked her while pulling her by her wrist, "Grace, why don't we look at those stalls? I think they are selling something interesting." Before she could answer him, he dragged her to a stall that was on another street.

That action of Kenneth didn't go unnoticed by Ariel. She felt bad for him because she was a hundred percent sure that he heard Damien talking about priests earlier.

"Umm…" Ariel looked around at the others and asked Damien while speaking with her breath, "Follow me." As she and Damien were walking behind everyone else, it was easier for her to drag Damien away while escaping everyone's eyes.

When they were in another street, and when Ariel was sure that their voices would be masked by the excited chatters of the crowd around them, she turned to look up at Damien's face and then asked him, "Dame, do you think this is the right time to let Kenneth know about my feelings?"

Damien suddenly felt as if someone came running to him at a great speed and punched a hole in his chest with a burning torch. It hadn't hurt this much even when he was close to his death yesterday night.

"Damien?" Ariel gently tugged on his sleeve when he suddenly turned into a statue.

Damien grimaced in pain and glanced at Ariel with a look of utter confusion reflected on his face. He drooped his shoulders and asked while gasping for breath, "Y-You have f-feelings for Kenneth?" Explore more stories at empire

"What? Ah!" Ariel sighed and face-palmed herself after realizing why Damien suddenly looked like he was going to die. She let out a deep breath and softly said, "I'm sorry, it came out wrong from my mouth."

She then held Damien's hands and asked him again, "Do you think this is the right time to let Kenneth know about my feelings for you?"

"Oh!" Damien tightened his hold on Ariel's hands and bent his head a little to press his forehead against her knuckles. He let out a deep sigh of relief when Ariel confirmed again that she had chosen him. And he looked back at her with his eyes slightly glistening with tears.

Ariel could clearly see the depth of the love that he felt for her. She could also feel Damien's hands slightly trembling; she felt sorry for him for scaring the soul out of him.

She took a step forward and pressed her forehead against his chest. And she whispered to him, "You already know that it's you, Damien. Why were you so scared? Although I denied it, even to myself, know that it has always been you."

Ariel had no idea how much her words meant to Damien.

He instantly pulled her into his chest and tightly wrapped her in his arms. He closed his eyes and whispered in a relieved voice, "You have no idea how much I needed to hear that."

Ariel found a little solace in Damien's warmth. However, the restlessness returned very quickly. She needed to get it out of her chest and clarify things with Kenneth.

After embracing each other for a moment, Ariel pulled away from the hug and said to Damien, "I had thought of saying that to Kenneth on the last day of our trip. But I don't think I should keep him on the fence anymore. I have hurt him enough."

Damien couldn't agree more. "Yes, he deserves to know sooner."

"Should I find him and talk to him then?" she asked, hoping to get that little push that she needed. She was getting way too nervous.

Damien gave a nod and encouraged her, "Yes, you should do that. All of us will be at ease after that."

Before she walked away, he tucked her loose hair behind her ears and cupped her face. He couldn't help but feel bad for Kenneth. So, he asked Ariel, "Ary, Kenneth is a really good man. If you can then… please try to make it less traumatizing for him. Don't just drop the news and run."

Ariel gave a sad smile and nodded. "I know. I won't do that. I will take as much time as he needs."

Damien had also noticed how Kenneth had dragged Grace together with him. So, he also said to her, "I will send Ramon to fetch Grace. And I will try to keep the others away from the two of you. Make sure to take your time."

Damien then leaned forward and gave a soft kiss on her forehead. "I will be with the others then," he whispered.

Ariel nodded her head and replied, "I will go and find him."
