Shinchan: Chaos of Anime Multiverse

Realizing that Shiro could understand their conversation, Yukino and Haruno decided not to approach Shin-chan just yet. Instead, they figured it might be better to talk things through with Shiro first and see if he could help.

Shin-chan was currently in the living room watching Gundam. Today's airing was a special-length theatrical version, and it still had more than half an hour left.

"Let's head to the bedroom first."

Following behind Shiro, the Yukinoshita sisters tiptoed along and peeked at Shin-chan, who was comfortably watching TV in the living room. Beside him was the ultra-giant limited-edition cookies Yukino had gifted him.

Shin-chan was sipping juice while munching on cookies, looking absolutely content.

'This brat really knows how to enjoy life!' And to think it was Yukino who bought him those cookies, Haruno had assumed Yukino wanted them for herself. She even spent quite a bit of money.

Seeing Shin-chan so carefree just made Haruno's anger boil. In a situation like this, the fact that Yukino thought of Shin-chan first, didn't that prove her little sister was being lured away by this wretched brat?

Once they reached Shin-chan's bedroom, Shiro looked at the two sisters. Ever since discovering his yokai bloodline, it was like Shiro had unlocked some mysterious switch, he now handled things with surprising poise.

"I've been wondering… how did you two end up turning into cats?"

"It was the bakeneko's curse!"

Yukino quickly explained everything that had happened today and made her request.

"We want your help. Please see if Shin-chan can recognize who we are and help us return to normal."

'So it was that bakeneko's doing, huh?' Shiro nodded. Honestly, he wasn't too worried about Shin-chan recognizing Yukino, when it came to these kinds of things, Shin-chan was usually pretty reliable.

"That runaway bakeneko? I thought Master killed it. So it ended up targeting you two? Good thing it's dead now."

"Shin-chan was the one who killed it?"

"Yeah, today we were watching TV, and that bakeneko suddenly showed up. Then Master sliced it down with two strikes and it vanished. I was just cleaning up the mess it left behind earlier."

'Shin-chan is actually that strong?' Haruno hadn't expected this seemingly normal brat to be powerful enough to take down a terrifying monster.

"Shiro, do you have any ideas to help us? Something to make Shin-chan recognize us."

Now that they had Shiro's help, Yukino felt like their odds of success had improved a lot.

"I don't have any brilliant ideas… how about we just go meet him and try it out?"

"That's all we can do."

The three of them padded back to the living room.

Shin-chan was still deeply absorbed in the Gundam movie and didn't seem to notice the three of them approaching.

"Now's the time, use the Iron Fist!"

Shin-chan suddenly shouted, startling both Yukino and Haruno. Shiro, however, didn't react, he seemed used to it.

'What an immature guy. If he can recognize me, I'll buy him a collector's edition Action Kamen model, Yukino promised herself internally.'

"Woof woof!" Shiro barked twice, trying to get Shin-chan's attention.

"Shiro, wait a bit. I'll feed you after this finishes. If you're really hungry, just grab a can from the shelf."

Now that he had some dividend money coming his way, Shin-chan had been a bit more generous, he'd even bought high-end dog food and canned meals.

"Woof woof… (How am I supposed to open a can!?)"

Meanwhile, Yukino was thinking, if Shin-chan doesn't recognize her and she had to spend her life as a cat, living in the wild might be better than being his pet cat. This guy just wasn't dependable.

Shiro barked a few more times, and Shin-chan finally turned around.

"Huh? Are these your friends, Shiro? They look kind of familiar."

Seeing two new cats in the house, Shin-chan's attention was finally caught. Though, back in Kasukabe, Shiro did have plenty of friends, so Shin-chan wasn't too shocked. Still, there was something familiar about these two cats…

Hearing Shin-chan say that, Yukino tried her best to suppress her excitement and leapt in front of him, striking a graceful pose.

'Come on, Shin-chan, my dearest friend. I know you'll recognize me! I believe in the bond between us!'

Haruno watched the eye contact between the two with intense anticipation. If Shin-chan could recognize Yukino and call out her name, they'd both be saved.

Shin-chan looked at the snowy-white cat with sapphire eyes in front of him. He hesitated for a second.

Under Yukino's hopeful gaze, Shin-chan suddenly scooped her up into his arms.

"Hehe, you look so soft. And hugging you feels great too."

"Come watch TV with me. After the movie, I'll treat you guys to some canned food!"

While talking, he started petting the white-furred cat in his lap. Yukino tried to escape, but as a tiny kitten, she was completely powerless against Shin-chan's grip.

'No! Not there—anywhere but there!'

"Meow~"

Yukino's cry of despair turned into helpless meowing. Not far away, Haruno was frozen in shock, this wasn't how she expected things to go at all.

Sis-touching violation.

And right on cue, a system prompt sounded.

[Mission [Yukinoshita Meow] complete. Congratulations, Host, for completing three tasks. Beginner stage cleared. System functions now upgrading.]

[Reward issued. Host can claim it anytime.]

Shin-chan didn't seem surprised by the system voice at all, it was like he had already known who the cat in his arms was.

Yukino tried to resist, but Shin-chan's lap was just too comfortable. All she could do was purr helplessly, her whole body limp as if her bones had melted.

"Woof woof!"

Shiro was also stunned, he hadn't expected Shin-chan to go that far.

Shiro's barking snapped Haruno out of her daze. She instantly dashed toward Shin-chan.

"Damn it, let go of my little sister!"

But the words turned into nothing but adorable meows as they left her mouth.

"You wanna join too? Don't be in such a rush."

'Wait! No, stop!'

Shin-chan, effortlessly handling two cats, scooped Haruno up as well and held her close.

Before long, Haruno was just like Yukino, completely relaxed and reduced to purring in bliss.

Shiro silently looked on, feeling like his master was doing something… way too spicy for a dog's eyes. Quietly, Shiro chose to leave.

As for whether Shin-chan could recognize Yukino, based on what Shiro knew about him, he definitely already had.

It was just… opportunities like this were rare. If you're going to pet a cat, might as well go all in.

From this day on, Yukino would probably have a lot to talk about with Eriri. And for Haruno, this would certainly be… an unforgettable memory.
