Chapter 1264: Summit of different races (3)

There was a tense silence that lingered in the air after I said this.

Neither the representatives from the other races or the representatives of the human

kingdoms said a single thing.

With the way that they were staring at each other, it was as if they were trying to see through each other.

It was as if both sides were trying to figure out what the other was thinking.

But in the end, the one that broke the silence was the dwarven representative.

"We don't have much that we want from you humans since you're already providing it to us. The only thing that we're hoping to gain from this is some higher grade magic catalysts." As he said this, he turned to look at the representative from the Sorcery Empire.

The representative from the Sorcery Empire was surprised to hear this, but he wasn't surprised by the content of what the dwarven representative said. After all, this was something that was already well established, so it wasn't as if there was a need to be surprised.

The dwarves did do magic engravings and such, but that all depended on the material that they obtained from other people.

While dwarves could use magic, they weren't skilled at it and there were few dwarves that studied magic. That was why when it came to magic catalysts and forging materials, they would usually obtain them from outside sources.

The human race's Sorcery Empire was one of those large sources.

But the Sorcery Empire didn't want the dwarves to become too strong since that would be a threat to not only them, but also the human race.

So in order to restrain them, they had restricted the level and amount of magic catalyst that had been traded with the Dwarven Kingdom.

This had created a bit of friction between the two sides, but they still had a working relationship.

But now to create a deeper relationship...

The representative from the Sorcery Empire didn't answer this request that was made by the dwarven representative. Instead, he had a deep frown on his face as if he was thinking about something.

It seemed that barriers weren't that easy to break down.

While the representative from the Sorcery Empire was lost in thought, there were representatives from other human kingdoms that suddenly asked, "Are you willing to trade weapons with us? We have magic catalysts as well that we can offer up as trade."

Though the magic catalyst they spoke of wasn't on the same level as the one from the Sorcery Empire, that didn't mean that they were bad.

It was certainly enough to satisfy the Dwarven Kingdom if they wanted to trade.

The only thing was that these kingdoms never had the opportunity to trade with the Dwarven Kingdom before this.

The Dwarven Kingdom was one that isolated themselves and only traded with outsiders when they needed to. That was why none of these kingdoms had been able to open up trade with the Dwarven Kingdom before.

They had to rely on the other outlets to get dwarven goods.

The dwarven representative looked at these human representatives for a bit before saying with a slow nod, "Alright, we can consider it."

As for the reason why he was saying this was because he had already gotten permission.

Before this, the Dwarven King had told him that in order to strengthen the humans for a stronger alliance, they would be selling their weapons to them. Though many dwarves felt that the humans weren't worthy of their weapons, they still decided to go along since they had seen the threat of the demons and received an oracle from Terra, the god that they believed in.

The eyes of the human representatives lit up the moment that they heard this and it didn't take long before they started talking at the same time.

All of them were talking over each other, as if they wanted to be the first to put in an order.

However, the fact that they were talking in unison like this made it hard to make out what they were saying.

They also knew this, so they suddenly stopped and glared at each other as if they wanted to fight on the spot. However, they held themselves back since they knew that there was nothing to gain from fighting each other like this.

So instead, they turned back to the dwarven representative with a determined look.

It seemed that they were prepared to enter a bidding war to win what they wanted.

But before they could do that, the dwarven representative suddenly raised his hand and said, "Before we go any further, I just want to say that we will only be trading through a representative."

The human representatives were all taken aback when they heard this before deeply knitting their brows.

Trading directly with the Dwarven Kingdom and trading with a representative was completely different. After all, when using a middle man, there's no telling what would be lost in translation.

There was the possibility that the middle man would add in terms for their own benefits. After a long silence, one of the human representatives asked, "What representative?"

The dwarven representative just gestured at me as he said, "We'll be trading with the Kite Kingdom and they will distribute our goods. If there's anything that you want, you can request it from them."

As soon as they heard this, all of the human representatives looked at me with deeply furrowed brows.

The look in their eyes made it clear that they weren't happy with this arrangement, but there wasn't anything that they could say since it was the one that the dwarven representative had

proposed.

At the same time, they could see the determination that was on the dwarven representative's face, so they knew that there was no talking him out of this.

The only thing that they could do was pressure the representative that they would be trading through.

The only thing that they could do was try to use the pressure of their kingdoms on the Kite Kingdom to make things more favourable for them.
