Chapter 1267: Summit of different races (6)
The next invitation that I received was from the elves.
This was a group of elves that I wasn't familiar with, they weren't even being led by one of the High Elves.
The High Elves were the final defenders of the elven race, so this showed just how little they had actually invested in coming to our aide.
But the fact that they had come to our aide was already more than enough.
When I came in, the first thing that the representative of the elven race said was...
"Your majesty, our king hopes that you will be able to come and visit the capital of our Elven Kingdom one day. He hopes that he can deepen the relationship between our two kingdoms for the sake of the future."
"Just me?" I asked back.
The representative of the elven race just slowly nodded with a friendly smile.
Though he had a friendly smile on his face, I really wasn't feeling any friendliness from him.
After all, the elven race was still a mystery to me.
Honestly, I didn't know how to handle the elven race after all this time.
Even though I had married Moon and became close to the elven village that she came from, it wasn't as if I was close to the entire elven race. An elven village was quite far from the Elven Kingdom's capital and quite removed from the politics of the Elven Kingdom.
That meant that Moon and the elders of the village didn't have that high of a status in the Elven Kingdom in the first place.
The only reason that they were even willing to come and help was because of Vivrum's interference.
If it wasn't for her giving them an oracle, then they never would have brought that branch from the Tree of Life or sent these reinforcements to the human race. They would have watched everything happen from the side and waited for a conclusion.
Whether that was to fight with the demon race or ignore the human race like they had done.
As such, I had no idea what they were thinking now.
Even if they were following Vivrum's oracle, that didn't mean that they would follow that oracle forever.
There was the chance that they would suddenly decide to do something that would stab us all in the back and I wouldn't be able to stop them.
So that was why I had my guard up against them the entire time.
In the end, I just simply said, "When I have the time, I'll come pay a visit."
The representative from the elven race just gave a simple nod and then stood up to leave to my surprise.
I thought that he would have more to say to me, but it turned out that this was the only message that he had.
It really made me confused what the elven race wanted...
But in the end, since they didn't say anything, it didn't matter to me what they wanted. Until they showed their true colours, we would both keep each other at an arm's length. After the meeting with the elves, there was only one place left for me to go.
It was quite the place since putting the two races together actually made them quite rowdy. In the first place, giants and dwarves had similar personalities.
So when they were brought together, they actually complimented each other and made each other more rowdy.
They had occupied a bar in the capital and were currently drinking their way through the bar. It had reached the point where the dwarves were so wasted that they were even arm wrestling the giants.
Putting aside the large size difference between them, there was also the fact that giants were much stronger than dwarves. Even if dwarves were stronger than humans, that didn't mean that they were so strong that they were able to defeat giants.
But still, that didn't stop them from having a good time.
Everyone had reached the point where they were too drunk to care.
So the sight of a dwarf and a giant holding hands in preparation to arm wrestle each other really was a strange sight.
It was even more strange seeing the dwarf fly through the air.
All that proved was that if anything, the dwarves were so sturdy that they were able to be fine after being thrown through the air like this.
It wasn't a bad thing that things were getting rowdy here.
The only bad thing was the number of flies that were gathered outside.
Even though there were carriages parked there, there weren't any humans that actually made their way into the bar. That was because all of them were stopped by the dwarves and giants that were posted at the door.
They didn't want to be disrupted by these humans that just wanted to talk to them for their own benefits.
That was why they had been kept out of the bar and the area around the bar that the giants were drinking in.
When I went over, they let me in without any hesitation.
That was because the giants and dwarves all recognized me.
There were some humans that came forward as if they wanted to rely on this chance to enter the bar with me, but they were denied by the dwarves and giants.
"Your majesty Zwein, do you remember me?"
There was someone who was even desperate enough to call out to me.
Even though he called out to me, I just couldn't tell who this person was since I had never seen
them before.
With the way that he was winking at me, it was as if he wanted to give me a signal, but I just ignored him in the end.
There was nothing to gain from indulging in their delusions after all.
After entering the bar, the first thing that came into my hand was a flagon of ale and then a slap on the back urging me to drink.
This was certainly better than the meetings that I had with the other races or even the
humans.
