Single Wish: Rise Of The Omniscient Paragon

Chapter 533 532: RUN!

The first time Corey received his Ears of Omniscience, he thought the only thing it could do was to improve his hearing by an extremely high degree, however, after practicing and experimenting quite a bit with it, he realized that his Ears of Omniscience were not simple at all.

In the Mystic Realm, there was something called The Language of Mysticism.

The difference between the Mystic Realm and the Astral Realm was extremely vast, and there were countless reasons why Mystic beings treated Astral beings with indifference, arrogance, and disdain.

When one reached the Mystic Realm they could start learning the Language of Mysticism, and depending on their foundation, talent, and mental fortitude, the easier or harder it would be to learn the Language of Mysticism.

Mystic beings could speak the language of mysticism, and only other Mystic beings or beings higher than the Mystic realm would be able to understand the words spoken in the language of mysticism.

To Astral beings, the words spoken in the language of mysticism would be utterly incomprehensible and strange in their ears and minds.

However, this was not so for Corey.

Apart from improving his hearing ability to a ridiculous level, Corey found out that he could also understand any language he heard even if he had no knowledge of the said language.

There was a time he chanced upon a group of four men in the streets of the Outer area of the City of Sin, and these men spoke in a language he had no idea of, however, the moment he heard the language, he could understand it.

He performed several tests by listening to numerous other languages after buying a recording device that had numerous languages on it. Unsurprisingly and without fail, he understood them. Even the Language of Mysticism.

There were no numerous uses for the Language of Mysticism. It did not exist just to be spoken by Mystic Beings, and one of the uses was that if a Mystic Being unleashed an art or a skill while chanting the name of the art or skill with the Language of Mysticism, the skill or the art would be three times stronger than what it's meant to be.

Depending on the depth of the person's comprehension and understanding of the Language of Mysticism, the unleashed art could even be five times stronger than what it's meant to be.

What was also wonderous about the Language of Mysticism was that this increase does not consume more Mystic Mana, however, using the Language of Mysticism to invoke a skill or art placed a strain on the user's mind.

As for why Pamela chose not to use the Language of Mysticism when fighting Zal'Zerael?

The answer was simple, she did not need it. She was a Rune Sage, and she could speak to the runes and the runes could speak back to her.

Returning to the present.

Through his Ears of Omniscience, Corey was able to decipher a part of the Queen's Song, and for a moment, he wished he had remained ignorant.

Ignorance is bliss, so they said, and now, Corey wished he remained ignorant.

Although he could not understand the meaning behind some of the lyrics, it was clear as day what most of what his Stars of Consciousness deciphered meant.

The Queen's Song, or should he say, the supposed Queen of the Shattered Sea who was singing, wanted both the abominations and the Goliathspawns to capture him.

'You have got to be kidding me.'

Corey cursed multiple times inwardly, and then he looked around him warily.

He gazed at the Goliathspawns approaching, and Corey's skin tingled when he felt numerous malicious intents aimed at him from some of the Goliathspawns. He turned and stared at the abominations, but he felt the same thing.

'Damn it.'

Although it seemed like the Goliathspawns and abominations were coming to the centre of the Shattered Sea because of one another, Corey knew that some or all of them were moving to the centre of the Shattered Sea to capture him or kill him.

'What of the others? What if one of them can decipher the song and notices the strangeness of the Goliathspawns and the abominations? What if they're able to pinpoint the intents of these creatures?'

Corey warily thought, and then he glanced at Ryan and the others.

He could see each of them having uncomfortable expressions as they struggled to reel in their emotions and stop themselves from losing themselves using whatever method was at their disposal.

He saw Mira and Lyra holding their hands which emitted a blue serene light.

Kaelan's eyes glowed with a fierce green light as he clenched his fists around his Genesis Armament tightly.

Old Man Poison quickly stabbed his left arm with multiple injections, and Corey saw Old Man Poison release a sigh of relief afterwards.

Melissa gritted her teeth as veins protruded from her neck as she struggled not to lose control of herself.

Hiss

Corey heard a hiss, and then he glanced at Melissa's right hand where a hazy outline of a snake appeared in his Eyes of Omniscience.

'Boros.'

Corey glanced at Ryan, and he saw him having a calm expression without any sign of disturbance or pain. However, when Corey observed him closely, he noticed a familiar sharp light reflecting in his eyes and around his body as he stared at the Water of Calamity.

'Sword Intent.'

Corey's gaze shifted to Azhrun, and just like Ryan, he had a calm but serious expression on his face as he stared at the surging and bubbling Water of Calamity.

Azhrun and Ryan noticed Corey's gaze, and Ryan frowned deeply.

"The Queen's Song… it's worse than I remember."

"Something is not right here. The last song only affected the Goliathspawns and abominations, it didn't affect us Outsiders and the Tainteds like this."

Ryan had a rarely seen solemn expression as he shifted his gaze from Corey to the approaching Goliathspawns.

"We should leave, Smile Reaper." Ryan took a step forward toward Corey, and Azhrun raised his brows when he saw this.

"We can come back after this is over and fulfil our agreement."

'No, that cannot work at all. This so-called 'Queen' is aware of my presence and the Infinity Crystals in me, and even if we decide to come back later, the same thing or something worse would happen. At that point, even you would start suspecting me.'

'Also, even if there's another Infinity Crystal in this shattered dimension and I'm able to get there on time, what's the assurance that I'll be able to find somebody like you who is willing to 'assist' me?'

'I also have a freaking time limit of less than two months to leave this place and advance. I need to obtain this Infinity Crystal no matter what… We absolutely cannot leave and come back.'

Countless thoughts and simulations surged in Corey's mind, and for a moment, Corey failed to reply to Ryan on time, causing him to frown.

HISS

A hiss resounded in the minds of Corey, Ryan, Azhrun, Kaelan, Old Man Poison, Melissa, and the twins.

Ryan looked around with a frown.

Azhrun shook with widened eyes.

Old Man Poison's fingers trembled.

The twins joined their hands in prayer.

And Melissa looked around with an extremely solemn expression, and her pupils turned to golden slits.

Due to the countless thoughts he had, Corey almost ignored it, thinking it was Melissa's snake, Boros, that hissed, but then his stars of consciousness warned him of the abnormality of the sound.

A second later, his face paled and his pupils shook when he saw a colossal, titanic, and extremely long shadow beneath the crab-like Goliathspawn through the bird's eye view of his Eyes of Omniscience.

"RUN!"

Corey screamed, and then all hell broke loose.
