Chapter 758: 755: The Nameless One
"Like I said, I'll think about it."
Corey could feel the rage bubbling within Prince Zakar'el the moment he said these words, but Corey's expression remained the same.
Calm.
"Do I look like a joke to you?"
Corey shook his head, "No, you don't... What I meant by what I said is that I'll take your heart with me. I'll think about it for some time, and then I'll come to a decision."
"Impossible... The moment you take my heart out of this dimension, it'll be sensed by beings you cannot comprehend and you'll die once they descend on your home planet."
"If you fuse with my heart now, you won't be noticed and you can safely undergo an evolution that would never be seen in all of reality."
"Don't be foolish, Corey. I won't want my heart to fall in the hands of a fool."
"I'm not even surprised you know my name despite me not telling you."
Corey shook his head with a scoff.
"Since the main problem is that your heart would be sensed by your enemies and several other powerful beings, I think I have a solution for that."
"What?" Prince Zakar'el replied with a baffled and curious tone, and Corey's eyes changed.
From his violet-blue eyes, it transformed into his Tri-Pupil Eyes which had two golden triangles in each eye.
His Tri-Pupil Eyes glowed with a golden light, and the instant his eyes glowed, Prince Zakar'el snapped his head at his heart.
He saw a swirling portal appear below his heart, and his fog-like face and aura were shaken. He felt a suction force emerge from the portal.
Two seconds later, his heart was swallowed by the portal, and Prince Zakar'el's exclaimed loudly in disbelief.
"What?!"
"How is this possible? I- I can't..."
Corey watched as Prince Zakar'el mumbled several words out of pure shock and disbelief with his aura and smoke-like face trembling like a flickering flame that was about to go out.
He wiped away the blood that was streaming down the corners of his eyes, and stared at Prince Zakar'el while observing his every move.
He had taken a gamble.
A very huge gamble.
From everything he had been observing about the last Letherion Prince, he had no ill intentions towards him... Although he could be wrong and the Prince was just very good at hiding his intentions, a feat which he would not be surprised at considering how ancient he was.
After listening to the Prince's reason for wanting him to fuse with his heart right now, he knew he had to show the Prince that he could keep his heart without it being found by any being.
The storage space in his Tri-Pupil Eyes.
This was what Corey was banking on, and it seemed the abilities of a Paragon had not failed him.
He had been attacked and targeted by two Supreme Tribulation Eyes, and in those two instances, the Supreme Tribulation Eyes never noticed the blood of the Supreme Ancestor that was hidden in the depths of the storage space in his Tri-Pupil Eyes.
In fact, none had ever noticed or found out that his eyes were a storage space in itself, and this also gave Corey the confidence to take the Prince's beating heart right in front of him.
Taking the heart came with two possible consequences, and despite these two possible consequences, Corey still decided to take the heart.
The first was if he was even capable of storing the heart in his Tri-Pupil Eyes.
He remembered the time he tried storing a Nightmare's Finger in his eyes, and he also remembered how he almost became a cripple.
His mana veins and meridians were severely damaged, and if not for the Veinweaver's Dreamgrass, he would not be where he was at the moment.
Trying to store the heart of a being whose potential could most likely allow him to reach the heights of the Paragon Ancestor... was pure madness.
Although he had the Celestial Mana Veins and was much stronger and different compared to the past him, it was still a huge gamble.
For all he knew, he might truly become a cripple once he tried storing the heart.
The second possible consequence is the reaction of the Prince.
If everything went well and he was able to store the Prince's heart in his Tri-Pupil Eyes, he had to be careful and wary of the Prince's reaction.
The Prince could become angry at the fact that he had stored his heart without his permission, and this reaction would be justified since even he would most likely become angry if he were in the Prince's shoes.
In Corey's mind, the worst thing that could happen would be that he would have to fight the Prince, and he would most likely die.
Fortunately... He was lucky.
After using his Tri-Pupil Eyes to store Prince Zakar'el's heart, he was not crippled. However, his mana, spiritual energy, and mental energy were severely depleted.
He only had 1% left of each energy, and if not for his Stars of Consciousness which were taking control of Corey's body, he would have fallen on his knees.
Also, he felt no killing intent from Prince Zakar'el, and he was slightly relieved.
"How did you do that? What power is that? It's my heart but I can't sense it anymore. It's like... my heart has been completely cut off from... reality."
Corey smiled lightly, "You don't have to bother yourself about the power I used. What matters is that I can hide your heart without others sending it."
Prince Zakar'el remained silent for some seconds, and Corey did all he could to restore his almost depleted energy.
His Poison, Earth, and Water Infinity Crystals released energy into his body at a rapid speed.
"Since you can do that, then I guess I don't have to worry about those bastards sensing my heart..."
Prince Zakar'el paused once again, and then he glanced at the book on the throne.
"You should also take this book before you leave."
Corey glanced at the book with slightly furrowed brows, "What's in the book? I don't sense anything unique about it."
"True... Even I don't sense anything unique about the book."
Corey looked at Prince Zakar'el with surprise, "So there's nothing special about the book?"
"Oh, there he is... This was one of my father's most treasured possessions..."
"... It cannot be destroyed no matter what.. That's the only unique thing about the book."
"So what's in the book?" Corey asked with raised brows. This time around, he was getting confused.
"It's a diary."
Corey's lips twitched. Now, he felt like Prince Zakar'el was truly messing with him.
"A diary?" He asked with a suspicious and disbelieving tone.
"I had the same reaction and expression you currently have when I realized that the book was a diary."
Corey tilted his head slightly, "So, whose diary is it?"
"I don't know."
Corey's lips twitched once again.
"I just know that he calls himself the Nameless One."
