Chapter 760: 757: Draw The Attention
So many questions and thoughts regarding the Infinity Crystals and Prince Zakar'el's knowledge about the Infinity Crystals surfaced in Corey's mind.
For some strange reason, the thought that Prince Zakar'el most likely had no knowledge about the Infinity Crystals felt somewhat true.
It was just a fleeting feeling, but it felt like he was correct about his assumptions.
And if he was, this would lead to several other questions... But that's for the future.
Corey decided to push these thoughts to a Star of Consciousness, and chose to focus on what he had just gained from looking at the cube of esoteric runes.
Looking, analyzing, and studying the esoteric runes was extremely dangerous because if he was not careful, he could have died.
At first, he attempted to study the entire cube, but the moment his instincts screamed at him with such intensity that shook his Cosmic Soul, he quickly shifted his gaze to just a corner of the cube.
And even just a corner of the cube almost shattered his mind.
Did he learn anything from the cube of esoteric runes?
No.
Just a tiny corner of the cube contained an unfathomably complex, terrifying, and vast number of runes that almost consumed his mind.
In fact, he was barely able to understand a single stroke of one of the runes, and doing this almost shattered his mind.
He was just recovering from storing Prince Zakar'el's heart, so it was extremely careless of him to try and study something that was complex for even some gods and Old Ones to comprehend.
Fortunately for him, Prince Zakar'el knew when he had reached his limit and sent the cube of esoteric runes into Rhea.
Although it seemed like Corey had chosen to do something so reckless, he had already assigned five Stars of Consciousness to ensure that he stopped looking at the cube of esoteric runes once he was reaching a point of no return.
They were to do anything to stop him, even if it meant they had to detonate his eyes and make him go blind for some time.
Fortunately, Prince Zakar'el had no desire to allow Corey to fall into the jaws of death.
Although Corey had done something reckless and extremely dangerous, he gained from his actions.
The first gain was that the cracks on the shell of his Cosmic Soul had increased, and the increase was not minimal.
The increase was equivalent to what he would have gotten if he advanced to a higher Tier, and this was extremely substantial for Corey because it meant that he was going to obtain the full benefits of his Cosmic Soul faster than he was meant to.
The second gain was that Corey had being able to record the cube of esoteric runes.
This was the biggest gain for Corey in the long run, and he was extremely satisfied that he had been able to achieve this.
Although there was a price he had to pay for this.
The destruction of ten Stars of Consciousness.
To record the cube of esoteric runes, ten Stars of Consciousness died out because of the immense amount of information that was contained in the cube, and this was slightly shocking to Corey.
One should not forget that the Stars of Consciousness were actually the soul origins of the dead gods of his Universe, and although he had no idea how powerful the dead gods were, it was surprising that the soul origins of ten gods was required to just record a cube of runes from Prince Zakar'el.
He could not fathom just how powerful beings like Prince Zakar'el, the dead gods of his Universe, the Supreme Ancestor, and the Paragon Ancestor were.
He was a mere Tier 3 who had the ability to destroy an area as large as a metropolitan city or maybe even a small-sized nation with his full power.
But beings like these were just far beyond his scope of imagination.
Just how powerful were they?
This was a question he knew he dared not think about or he would be drowned in a sea of thoughts.
Moving away from this... Corey felt that sacrificing ten Stars of Consciousness was a fair price for the recording of the cube of esoteric runes.
With time, he would keep on studying the cube of esoteric runes, just like he had been doing for the rune he was fortunate to record the first time he entered the void.
'I don't know if the cube of esoteric runes would be beneficial to me, but what I do know is that just analyzing it would be immensely beneficial for my knowledge on runes.'
Corey shifted his attention from the death of his Stars of Consciousness and the cube of esoteric runes, to the clearly shaken Prince before him.
He said nothing and was focusing on healing his body. After a minute exactly, he heard Prince Zakar'el exhale softly, and Corey's brows twitched.
From that soft exhale, Corey felt a power that could turn him to lowest of atoms if it ever grazed him.
He shivered ever so slightly.
"It seems you have far greater secrets than I expected..."
Prince Zakar'el gazed at Corey, and Corey could feel a little bit of anxiousness from the Prince's gaze.
And this surprised him.
Why would a being as powerful as the Prince be anxious?
"Before, I was not so worried about you fusing with my heart. But now... I'm not so sure... Especially since you've decided to fuse with my heart outside my dimension."
"... In fact, I doubt my dimension would have been able to hide the aura and effects that would occur if you chose to fuse with it here."
Corey looked at Prince Zakar'el with a calm expression, but inwardly, he had questions.
"I just hope that your Progenitor favors you and is strong enough to battle the tribulations you'll face... Because if your Progenitor is not strong enough... He or she... might die."
Corey raised a brow, "What do you mean?"
"Once you fuse with my heart, you'll become an entirely different race... And you'll draw the attention of so many... beings and entities."
