Chapter 16: Chapter 16: Risky Plan
Ezra quickly entered his room and unlocked his phone. He opened the Elite platform and searched, "How to learn archery for beginners?"
Many lists came up, and he scrolled through them. Most suggested finding a tutor. But private tutors were rare for archery, and the price per lesson made Ezra reconsider.
Another suggestion was to practice in the Professional Training room, which cost three thousand credits per hour.
Looking at the prices, Ezra realized that the professional training room was his best option, but he didn't have any money. Even food had become a luxury since he hadn't eaten since yesterday.
'Should I get a part-time job?' he mused but quickly shook his head. 'The pay is too low to cover my bills. Besides, in the plane, roasting meat could satiate my hunger, while selling monster crystals could fill my bank. Two birds, one stone.'
Ezra quickly searched, "How much for monster crystals of the mortal rank?"
After a short scroll, he found the general pricing: Monster crystals of the First Order Mortal were about a thousand credits; Second Order went for five thousand; Third Order was fifteen thousand. Although these prices were for the plane, they increased outside due to the rarity of low-level monsters. Not like he could hunt outside the plane.
When he checked the price of gear, he was tempted to sell the Metal Arm but reined in that thought. It was the only thing slightly boosting his strength. The least gear cost about a hundred thousand credits.
He quickly dressed and took a 'short walk' to the Council Association, which was a 'stone's throw distance away'. The sun was slowly rising, and most people were still asleep. There were only a few in the association.
"Kate?" Ezra asked in shock when he saw the lady behind the desk.
"Ezra? You're here early?" Kate questioned with a smile as she adjusted her glasses.
"Sigh! A man needs food for survival, and there's free food in the plane," Ezra replied before asking curiously, "You don't sleep?"
"I sleep, but I wake up early. You can go to the Beacon yourself; I only led you the first time to make sure you knew how to do it."
Ezra nodded and walked toward the room where the beacon was placed.
She suddenly advised, "Don't get greedy; the price of greed in the plane is death."
"I love my life," Ezra said with a smile before entering the room, joining the queue with others heading to the plane.

Entering the plane, Ezra emerged clad in his brown armor. He quickly scanned the area around the dome, even sending his spirit body to scout. He breathed a sigh of relief when he didn't see Brenna or Jude; the place was still scanty.
"Walk, dude."
A voice from behind jolted him, and he quickly exited the inner court, fearing Brenna might be inside the compound.
"Looks like my day will be good," he hummed as he took the time to tour Silver Edge Haven.
After a short tour, he approached a young teenage boy who seemed the most honest and approachable. The boy had neatly arranged, short golden blonde hair, a lost look in his green eyes, a naive expression, and bubbly cheeks. He was also not very tall.
"Good morning," Ezra greeted.
He frowned, turned slowly to Ezra, before replying, "Morning."
"Can you tell me the best location to hunt?"
The boy gazed at Ezra from head to toe, as if assessing him. "Did they send you to annoy me? All the best locations have been hunted, leaving only difficult Second Order monsters beyond the grass plain. Even if I had the location, I wouldn't tell you. I also need monster crystals."
Ezra ignored his attitude and asked again, "Well, are there any dangers to watch out for, like Tank Tarantulas, Ghost Mantis, or Vineguard?"
The boy took a step back at Ezra's words. "It wouldn't be called a hunting zone if those scary things were present."
Ezra nodded and turned to leave.
"Erm… There are poisonous snakes hiding in the grass plain with sharp fangs that can penetrate all armor beneath the Third Order, so go around the grass plain behind the Haven," the boy yelled after him.
Ezra paused, turned, and gave him a look that said, 'Were you trying to kill me before?' but his helmet concealed his expression.
He swiftly left the Haven and circled around it, crossing the open field until he stood before an expansive grass plain. The lush, thick green grasses reached his chest, while the Haven faded into the distance behind him.
Exhaling, Ezra steeled himself, his expression hardening beneath his helmet as he summoned the Metal Arm to his right arm. A cool material enveloped his right arm, enhancing his strength.
'My armor covers it…' Ezra thought as he swung a punch. It was significantly faster than before.
Nodding in approval, he summoned Silver Edge, the blade materializing in his grasp. With his eyes fixed on the grassy expanse, he activated [Soul Reflection] and called forth his spirit body.
He planned to hunt around the grass plain like others, but then remembered many things could go wrong if he strayed far from the Haven due to his weak Physical and Constitution. There was no Selene to heal him.
So he changed his mind and decided to hunt in the dangerous grass plain, relying on his invisible scout and a risky plan. To him, it was a better option than the unknown dangers of hunting beyond the plain. At least he understood the risks involved in his plan.
The spirit body quickly got to work, slowly combing through the plain without missing anything. His body stood on the open field, watching the grass expanse intently, while his mind focused through the eyes of the spirit body.
Thirty minutes passed without seeing anything, but he didn't give up.
The sun was almost up.
Suddenly, a patch of grass began to move—no, it wasn't just grass but a snake with vibrant green scales that blended seamlessly with its surroundings. It slithered leisurely ahead, its tongue flicking in and out, and its girth was as thick as an adult's upper arm.
'Damn camouflage! I knew it!'
Through the eyes of his spirit body, Ezra gauged the snake's speed and direction before sending it to scout the area. He observed that the snake was gradually moving toward the border.
This time, he was extremely cautious and thorough. Fortunately, he didn't see any other snakes.
After a brief search, he sent the spirit body back to the snake, which he found without difficulty.
Breathing heavily, he picked up a fist-sized rock and moved toward the grassy expanse, his heart racing.
'I pray I don't get myself killed.'
