Beside her, another lady followed, her presence equally striking.

'How could it be these two, and why are they representing the Monster race?' he thought, his mind reeling.

For a moment, his usually composed demeanor faltered. His gaze lingered on their faces, their golden and green eyes locking onto his with subtle tension. Their expressions, though polite, held a faint edge, as if they were holding back emotions.

"I'm Hu Liwei, and this is my partner, Tian Meifeng. We represent the Monster races, and it's an honor to meet you, sir," Hu Liwei introduced herself as the representative.

"And we are delighted to have you join us," Xu Qianghua finally snapped out of his stupor, responding to the ladies with a charming smile.

"It is indeed an honor. The reputation of the Xu family precedes itself, and we are thankful for the invitation," Tian Meifeng continued the greeting.

"Thank you for your kind words. Please, take a seat," Xu Qianghua said, gesturing toward the couch opposite the one the ladies were seated on.

As they moved to their seats, Xu Qianghua observed them more closely. Their tension was evident in the slight stiffness of their movements, though they carried it well.

But he just brushed it off, thinking they might be unprepared to meet him or something similar. He did not think much about it as he was still shocked to see these two ladies here.

After the ladies took their seats, Xu Qianghua quickly regained his composure and addressed them.

"May I ask why the representatives are two ladies and not the elders from their clans?"

"Ah, yes. You must be surprised to see two young ladies as the leaders of the Monster delegation," Hu Liwei said, smiling faintly.

"A bit, yes. I have to admit that I wasn't expecting such a sight."

"I understand. However, as the head of the delegation, I am responsible for introducing myself.

I have to be able to interact with the people at this gathering, and as you know, humans can be a bit difficult to deal with.

So, my mother and Tian Meifeng's mom agreed that we would be the best choice," she explained in quick succession.

"I see. That makes sense."

"Thank you for your understanding. I hope that we can get along well."

"Of course, it's a pleasure to have you here."

As the introductions were done, Xu Qianghua decided to continue and began talking.

"I hope the trip was not too troublesome," he asked with concern.

"It was a bit tiring, but it wasn't too bad," Tian Meifeng answered, flashing him a smile.

"I'm glad to hear that. We have prepared special accommodations for you. You may rest if you wish, and we will call for you once the others arrive," Xu Qianghua stated, his voice carrying a trace of worry.

"Thank you. But we will be fine. Besides, we are a bit excited about the gathering," Hu Liwei responded, her expression a mask of pleasant calm.

"Of course, I understand. I am looking forward to it as well."

Meanwhile, the four ladies beside Xu Qianghua watched with interest. Bai Lingyun had a schadenfreude smile, while Bai Xueyan looked at them with curiosity as she did not understand why they showed up earlier than before.

However, they did not ask; instead, they sat quietly and enjoyed the snacks. That did not last long, as they also joined in the conversation, and before long, Xu Qianghua was the only one left out of it.

But that did not bother him, as he knew this was a good sign. It showed that the ladies had opened up to the Monster Race delegates, which was important for his future plans.

So, while the five ladies chatted away, the two leaders looked at Xu Qianghua with the same thought: 'We finally meet again.'

The same could be said for Xu Qianghua. 'Looks like there were some secrets that I did not know about in the old timeline.

But if I remember correctly, in the old timeline, the fox and snake clans were not the most powerful due to their appearances; they were more focused on developing their territories.

Though their strengths were not too bad either, they were mostly a part of the background, and only the tiger, wolf, and other monster races were the faces of the Monster race.
