Star Wars: Daimon's Story

Chapter 75: Enemy of my Enemy

Several months passed since the meeting between the Republic and the Imperium. The information brought back to the Republic was enough to prompt the Chancellor and the Senate to reinforce Republic Border worlds and approve a quick resolution to send various amounts of support including a voluntary republic volunteer corps which would consist of people who wanted to volunteer to fight alongside the Imperium.

The Republic wouldn't get directly involved and instead focused on defending their worlds and letting the Imperium deal with matter as they seemed to be handling the matter very well. Over months, millions of civilians joined the volunteer corps and were trained and armed with Republic equipment to go and join the Imperium in its fight. Leading this volunteer corps would be active officers from the Republic Armed Forces and Jedi Knights.

Due to them taking a more active role in the Republic, the Jedi Order had sent well over 100 Jedi Knights in these months alone in order to combat this threat.

For the Imperium, the war had turned from a defensive battle to an offensive battle in just months. Daimon left Veldari and now led from the front alongside various Admirals and Grand Admirals. Tens of thousands of enemy ships were destroyed, and dozens of worlds were purged of Abominor with tens of millions of slaves being freed. Garrisons had to be left of several worlds to take care of these former slaves and initiate rehabilitation and re-education efforts which would take decades.

These worlds and sectors were temporarily classified as occupied territories and would be highly militarized until the war was over. Any Abominor facilities or units left over would be torn down or locked down for study.

With these planets secured, the Imperium continued its advancement into the Unknown regions, navigating through some of the most dangerous parts space in the galaxy. Thankfully with the Quantum Hyperspace Mapping System, Imperium fleets did not face many challenges when advancing into enemy territory.

At the same time, Daimon had 4 Progenitors and their Ascendant legions to participate in the war. These Progenitors were Raelos Vyn, the Warmaster, Darek Thalor, Malis Kaevor, and Syra Veyra. With the addition of new ships thanks to the Star Forge, new fleets were formed, and each Progenitor was given their own fleet of 10,000 ships made up of the latest weapon advancements that the Imperium had to offer.

Each Progenitor waged war in a way that reflected their own doctrine, making it harder for the Abominor to predict their tactics. Raelos led the charge against the foundry worlds of the Abominor which were covered in megastructures and planet-wide foundries. He didn't bother with sieges, instead, he chose a direct bombardment of the planet. The slaves of the planet were considered collateral damage as they weren't citizens of the Imperium so whatever happened to them while the planet was under the Abominor control was not of concern to the Imperium.

Darek suffered the least casualties as he was a powerful Force Healer, able to grow back the limbs of any soldier and heal any wound they suffered. This allowed his army to steamroll most planets as the fact that one could be healed from any wound, made the fear within almost everybody disappear. Unlike his brothers, he sought to preserve as much life as he could and save as many slaves as he could.

Malis employed a similar doctrine. As the High Pontifex of the Divine Imperial Doctrine Department, he was a philosopher, spiritual guide, and zealot at heart when it came to the will of the Imperium. Within months, the worlds "purified" by his legions had started to see the construction of doctrinal centers, even as clearing operations mopped up the droid remnants. Inquisitors and Adjudicators followed behind the armored columns, weeding out spies or sabotage, interrogating captured Abominor code-minds, and planting the seeds of Veldari culture in the ruins.

Syra Veyra, the embodiment of law and order throughout the Imperium, quickly became an icon as she led her forces on a crusade of justice for the millions of Imperial citizens who lost their lives. She was the most adamant of the Progenitors in enforcing Daimon's decrees and will, comparable to an arbiter of sorts. She infiltrated enemy planets and triggered slave uprisings hours or days before the ground invasion arrived.

On almost all worlds, the arrival of Imperial soldiers was called a "liberation" from Abominor control. The Republic had seen various sides of the Imperium throughout this fight. So much so that a conflict with them would be considered suicidal if not outright stupid. Luckily, they were on relatively good terms, so the Republic didn't have much to worry about.

(A/N: Keep the following in mind for the rest of the chapter and future chapters. The Rakatan Infinite Empire enslaved most of the galaxy during their timeline, relocating many species from their homeworlds. Most of these relocated species still exist and will be found in various parts of the galaxy other than their homeworld)

During his arrival into one of the Abominor controlled systems, Daimon saw the Abominor fleet engaged in battle with another fleet. This fleet had ships that Daimon had never seen before and fought with mainly kinetic weaponry. He had Cortana collect information on this fleet by remotely hacking into their systems and stealing the information.

In a matter of minutes, she was done and was about to reveal a new discovery. "The fleet attacking the Abominor consists of numerous empires from within the Unknown regions. This Coalition is known as the "Stellar Sovereignty Alliance," a unified front composed of multiple diverse empires from within the Unknown Regions, each unique in government structure, culture, and military doctrine.

The first empire identified by Cortana was the Elysian Concordat, a democratic federation known for advanced technology and diplomacy, with worlds inhabited by humans, Twi'leks, and various other species who descended from Rakatan slaves. Their silver ships maneuvered swiftly, firing kinetic rounds and energy disruptors, dismantling Abominor vessels.

The second empire was the Theocratic Dominion of Kalyndra, ruled by a High Oracle and governed by zealously devout beings who revered the Force as divine. Their ships, adorned with intricate golden engravings depicting sacred symbols, unleashed devastating barrages of Force-enhanced weaponry, leaving trails of radiant energy across the battlefield.

Another powerful member of the alliance was the Kingdom of Rylothis, a monarchy ruled by the fierce and proud Zygerrians. While they were slavers, they had turned against the Abominor after their own worlds had been targeted. Their brutal and rugged warships, covered with projectile cannons and powerful deflector shields, tore into enemy formations.

The fourth member, identified as the Coalition of Free Stars, was a combination of planets liberated from various tyrannical regimes. They operated a mixed fleet, diversified and improvised, their ships marked with various insignia, evidence of their origins. They fought with desperate courage, their diverse crews unified by a single goal, freedom from oppression.

Finally, Cortana identified the Varraxian Technocracy, an empire run entirely by a collective of highly advanced cyborg beings. Ironically similar to the Abominor in some ways, they sought to control technology rather than be controlled by it. Their vessels were modular, adapting rapidly in battle, and wielded potent EMP and cybernetic warfare capabilities that crippled the Abominor's automated systems.

Observing the ongoing battle, Daimon made an immediate decision. "Open communication channels," he instructed Cortana. "Broadcast an open message to these Coalition fleets. Identify us clearly."

"Channel open, I've already deciphered the language that is collectively used by the Coalition." Cortana responded. Daimon nodded, placing his hand on Cortana and absorbing the knowledge of their language so that he could talk to them.

"This is Daimon, Emperor of the Veldari Imperium. We have a common enemy in these mechanical abominations. We want to cooperate with you to attack them."

A few tense moments passed as Daimon's transmission echoed across the chaos-filled battlespace. Suddenly, a response came through, clear and authoritative yet filled with a hint of surprise. "This is Supreme Commander Aelon Marrek of the Elysian Concordat, speaking for the Stellar Sovereignty Alliance. Your timing is fortuitous, Imperium. We acknowledge your offer and accept. Join us, and together we shall eradicate these mechanical monstrosities."

Acknowledging the cooperation, Daimon directed his forces forward, the Imperium fleet moved forward, avoiding the coalition's fleet and making sure not to accidentally target them. With the combined might of the coalition fleet and the Imperial fleet, the Abominor fleet was reduced to nothing, and victory had prevailed.

As the debris cooled in space, Admiral Caedus approached Daimon cautiously. "My Lord, do you trust these new allies?"

Daimon thought about this briefly before replying. "Trust is unnecessary, Admiral. We share a common goal. For now, that is enough for us to move forward and avoid an unnecessary conflict."

Onboard his command ship, Supreme Commander Marrek opened a direct holo-channel to Daimon. The image of a human with a distinguished appearance appeared before Daimon.

"Emperor Daimon," Marrek began, a note of respect evident in his tone as this unknown Emperor spoke their language, "we invite you to our coalition council aboard the flagship Concordia. Your forces have demonstrated formidable strength. It is clear we must discuss mutual cooperation against our shared enemy and learn more about one another."

"Agreed, Commander Marrek," Daimon responded. "I will arrive shortly."

Shortly after, Daimon boarded his shuttle and prepared to depart for the Coalition fleet to meet with their leaders. He was intrigued at what he was going to find as the Abominor was already a surprise and to now learn about this coalition meant that even Cortana wasn't able to get that information from them. He assumed they safely guarded that information because of their enemies knew that they had a mutual ally, then they would team up and threaten the Abominor even more.
