Chapter 25: Chapter 25: Twin Dragons, Misplaced Confidence
Chapter 25: Twin Dragons, Misplaced Confidence
"Flew away..." Bra shaded her eyes with her hand, gazing into the distance where the dragon's silhouette disappeared in an instant.
"Wow, what a strange dragon..." Chi-Chi sighed, her voice filled with puzzlement.
"What about the wish?" Gohan's mouth twitched slightly. What on earth just happened?
Everyone stood dumbfounded, exchanging bewildered looks. The strange dragon had left in such an inexplicable manner that it left them at a complete loss.
"Anyone can tell just by looking at it—that's clearly not the original Shenron!" Vegeta sneered.
Bulma turned to Goku helplessly. "What now? What about the people who've died?"
"Hey, that was an evil dragon just now!!" North Kai's voice suddenly echoed around them.
Following him, the Elder Kai also started grumbling incessantly.
North Kai calmed down after explaining the origins of the evil dragon, but Elder Kai continued ranting and raving.
This tirade went on for a full thirty minutes, filled with blame-shifting and complaints.
"Post-failure wisdom, pig-like foresight," Lin Qi said casually, instantly silencing Elder Kai.
"If you're useless, don't blame others!"
Bulma nodded emphatically, fully agreeing with Lin Qi. "Exactly! Why didn't you say anything sooner? This is all because of you gods being incompetent!"
"If it weren't for Goku and the others constantly having to fight enemies, would we even be using the Dragon Balls so frequently?"
"And what about that youth-restoration nonsense..." Elder Kai muttered reluctantly but fell silent when Lin Qi glared at him.
"Wow, that's so beautiful. Are those auroras?" Pan pointed to the sky, where vibrant colors began to appear.
"They look pretty, but they're radiating an incredibly malevolent aura..." Piccolo frowned, turning to Goku, whose expression had grown serious.
"Heh..." Goku suddenly grinned excitedly. "I don't quite understand everything, but as long as we find those mutated Dragon Balls..."
"And defeat them, right?" Goku turned to Vegeta, who was standing upright and ready. "Vegeta, looks like we get to fight again!"
"Quit talking and hurry up already!!" Vegeta, eager to get started, shot into the sky first.
"I'm coming too!" Pan exclaimed as Goku leaped up.
"No way!" Chi-Chi was the first to object.
"I'm going!" Pan stuck out her tongue at Chi-Chi. Unlike everyone else, she wasn't afraid of her grandmother at all.
With a playful grimace, Pan hugged Giru and dashed into the sky to chase after Goku. Chi-Chi, left fuming, could only watch helplessly, while Gohan apologized guiltily, "Sorry, Mom..."
As the fighters departed, Bulma looked up at Lin Qi, who was leaning on the second-floor balcony. "Aren't you going?" she asked curiously.
"I'll go," Lin Qi replied indifferently. He planned to join later after confirming the locations of the Three-Star and Four-Star Dragons.
After all, the One-Star Dragon was sneakily hiding behind the Four-Star Dragon.
Three minutes later, Lin Qi quickly pinpointed the Three-Star Dragon's location. "Hmm... A cold aura from the east, huh?"
Whoosh
Lin Qi used Instant Transmission to appear in mid-air above a once-bustling city, now transformed into a dazzling ice sculpture.
The chilling frost spread everywhere, and amidst the icy streets were frozen humans, their forms sparkling under the sunlight.
The biting wind howled as Gohan and Piccolo battled the Three-Star Dragon below.
In the original story, it was primarily Pan and Goku who fought all the evil dragons. But now...
With so many fighters involved, including Vegeta, Trunks, and Goten, all rushing to hunt down the evil dragons, everyone was worried they'd miss out on a fight.
Lin Qi floated mid-air, observing but not intervening. There was no need.
In the original timeline, the Three-Star Dragon couldn't even defeat Super Saiyan 4 Goku. The only reason he managed to blind Goku was through vile, underhanded tactics.
Now, in this frozen city, the battle was nearing its conclusion. Although Gohan was soft-hearted, he couldn't ignore Piccolo's instructions.
And Piccolo, in his past life, had been the terrifying Demon King.
"Finish him off, Gohan!" Piccolo yelled urgently as he dodged a freezing attack flying toward him.
As Piccolo narrowly evaded, Gohan moved into position, his hands forming the signature "Kamehameha" stance at his waist.
"Kame... Hame..."
"Ha!!"
"Damn it..." The Three-Star Dragon tried to dodge but was too slow. The Kamehameha wave struck him directly, tearing his body apart.
"Arghhh..." With a pained scream, the Three-Star Dragon disintegrated into pieces under the powerful energy blast.
"We did it!" Gohan landed beside Piccolo, and the two exchanged a smile.
"The Three-Star Dragon Ball!" Gohan exclaimed, bending down to pick up the rolling Dragon Ball.
But as Gohan reached out, a ki blast suddenly shot toward him at high speed.
"Look out, Gohan!" Piccolo instinctively spread his arms wide to shield Gohan, acting without hesitation.
"You killed my brother..." From the ruins emerged a figure identical to the Three-Star Dragon.
Whoosh
Lin Qi, still hovering in the sky, extended a finger and fired a beam of energy, intercepting the ki blast before it could hit Piccolo.
The Four-Star Dragon had appeared—a twin of the Three-Star Dragon, complete with thick lips and small wings, though his skin tone was different.
Of course, their personalities were distinct too. As the Dragon Ball worshipped by Goku's family for generations, the Four-Star Dragon had absorbed their strong sense of justice.
"Uncle Piccolo, are you okay?" Gohan asked, clutching the Dragon Ball, his face full of concern.
"I'm fine!" Piccolo replied, glancing up at Lin Qi and giving him a slight nod, acknowledging his help.
Lin Qi descended, landing beside Piccolo as he turned his attention to the Four-Star Dragon.
The intense heat waves radiating from the Four-Star Dragon were silently melting the surrounding ice.
"So, you're Goku's son..." The Four-Star Dragon's gaze shifted from Gohan to Lin Qi.
"I was originally waiting for Goku, but it seems the wait has been far longer than I anticipated..."
"In that case, I'll just take care of all of you first!" The Four-Star Dragon's eyes locked onto Lin Qi.
"Take care of me? You're awfully confident," Lin Qi raised an eyebrow, finding the statement amusing.
Even with flattery, the Four-Star Dragon, at best, could match Super Saiyan 4 Goku. Yet, he dared to claim he could defeat Lin Qi?!
