Chapter 27: I'm Here, The Fated Duel

With a deafening explosion, the Four-Star Dragon leaped into the air, his tone filled with regret. "I warned you..."

"...Lin Qi is okay, right?" Son Gohan swallowed hard, fear written all over his face.

"Don't worry... I can still sense his ki! It's faint, but it's there!" Piccolo stared unblinkingly at the center of the blazing inferno.

Within the raging flames, clusters of blood-red blossoms seemed to sway as the smoke began to clear and the fire subsided.

The Four-Star Dragon turned his gaze toward the most devastated area. Some rocks had been burned into ashes, leaving vast stretches of barren ground with nothing remaining.

"Huh... isn't that where Dad is?!" Pan, clutching Giru in her arms, shielded her eyes with her hand to peer at the horizon behind Goku.

That direction glowed crimson under the firelight, resembling a picturesque sunset over the mountains.

"What a tremendous energy..." Goku paused for a moment, then urged Pan anxiously, "Come on, let's go check it out!"

"Okay!" Pan nodded, tightly gripping the Six-Star Dragon Ball in her hand.

"There's still a fight going on over there..." Trunks glanced at the Dragon Radar in his hand and turned to Goten.

"Uub, let's go too!" Goten shouted to Uub, who had just picked up a Dragon Ball from the ground.

Vegeta, holding the Five-Star Dragon Ball, looked in Lin Qi's direction and muttered through gritted teeth, "Damn it..."

"Why didn't I get to encounter such a powerful opponent!"

After dealing with the other trash evil dragons, everyone began flying toward the town where Lin Qi was located.

Several streaks of light flashed across the sky, all heading toward the same place.

Though the flames in the town had diminished, they still burned fiercely. The twisted high temperatures left behind by the fire were everywhere.

After waiting for a long time, the Four-Star Dragon finally concluded that Lin Qi had perished under his ultimate attack. He turned his gaze toward Son Gohan and Piccolo.

"Go call Son Goku over. One of you is already dead by my hands..."

"Though it wasn't intentional, he did die because of me. But I feel no guilt..."

"Heh heh..."

A soft chuckle suddenly sounded from behind the Four-Star Dragon. He turned around in disbelief to see Lin Qi standing there, completely unharmed. Shocked, he roared, "Impossible!"

"How could you still be alive?"

His ultimate attack hadn't left so much as a scratch on Lin Qi. Was it truly possible for someone to survive such a massive explosion?

"It's the truth!" Lin Qi smirked mockingly, speaking as if offering life advice. "The world is vast, yet your perspective remains so small!"

"Are you handing over the Dragon Ball or not?!" Lin Qi's voice was calm, yet it carried an eerie menace.

"If you don't give it to me now, you'll never see Goku, who's already on his way!"

"Is that so?" The Four-Star Dragon, full of suspicion, conjured a Dragon Ball in his palm and tossed it to Lin Qi. "Here, take it!"

To the Four-Star Dragon, death wasn't something to fear. What mattered most to him was the chance to fight Son Goku in a fated duel.

"What I truly want is to face Son Goku in the battle of destiny!"

Lin Qi couldn't care less about such melodramatic declarations. As long as he got the Dragon Ball, he was satisfied!

"You'd better make good use of your time!" Lin Qi caught the Dragon Ball and tossed it to Son Gohan.

His words were cryptic, leaving Son Gohan confused. Piccolo, however, kept scanning the Four-Star Dragon carefully.

This guy... could he actually be a good dragon? Otherwise, why would Lin Qi spare him?

"Gohan... Lin Qi... Piccolo!" A streak of light rapidly approached from the distance—it was Goku and the others.

"Son Goku..." The Four-Star Dragon locked his gaze on the approaching figures, scanning them before turning to Lin Qi. "Where is he?"

Lin Qi pointed at Goku. "Isn't that him?"

"Tch..." Vegeta clicked his tongue in disdain. These damn evil dragons didn't even bother to acknowledge him, the Prince of Saiyans!!

Always Goku this, Goku that—how irritating!

"...It looks like him, but the age doesn't match!" The Four-Star Dragon eyed Lin Qi suspiciously. Was this guy trying to deceive him?

"Goku, weren't you always keeping the Four-Star Dragon Ball safe?" Lin Qi turned to Goku, tossing the question to him.

"Haha... that's because Pan liked playing with the Four-Star Dragon Ball when she was little!" Son Gohan chuckled, scratching his head.

"So it ended up being kept at my house!"

"...By the way, who is this guy?" Goku asked curiously, looking at the Four-Star Dragon. "Do you know me?"

The scene inexplicably turned into a bizarre introduction session between Goku and the Four-Star Dragon.

"Hello!" Goku cheerfully extended his hand to shake the Four-Star Dragon's.

The Four-Star Dragon huffed arrogantly. "I've been waiting for you, just so we can fight. Come on! Our destined battle!"

With everyone looking bewildered, the man and the dragon faced each other, poised to fight at any moment.

"What's going on?" Vegeta grumbled at Lin Qi. "Why is that guy specifically asking to duel Kakarot?"

Lin Qi glanced at the indignant Vegeta and briefly explained the backstory.

"Hmph..." Vegeta finally seemed satisfied after hearing the connection between Goku and the Four-Star Dragon.

The group turned their attention to the two figures facing off in the distance, starting to discuss among themselves.

"Who would've thought the Four-Star Dragon Ball had such a connection to Goku?" Trunks remarked in amazement.

Goten chimed in, astonished, "I always thought that Dragon Ball was just a decoration!"

"It was passed down from Grandpa's grandpa..." Pan felt a twinge of guilt for having treated the Dragon Ball as a toy.

"Son Goku, I've been waiting for you for a long time!" The Four-Star Dragon's expression was complex as he spoke, a mix of anticipation, excitement, battle intent, and unease.

"Heh heh... I don't really understand why you've changed form!" Goku said absentmindedly, assuming a battle stance, his expression becoming serious.

"I'm here, Four-Star Dragon!"

"Thud."

With Goku's shout, he flew toward the Four-Star Dragon. Unfortunately, due to his small stature, his power seemed limited.

The Four-Star Dragon sent Goku flying with a single punch, slamming him into the ruins of a building.

"Ouch, ouch, ouch..." Goku rubbed the back of his head as he climbed out of the rubble, his gaze at the Four-Star Dragon brimming with battle spirit. "You look pretty strong!"

"Son Goku, your strength shouldn't be this weak!" The Four-Star Dragon's expression grew graver as he stared intently at Goku.

"Haaaaa..."

"Alright... I won't hold back anymore!" Goku roared, transforming into his Super Saiyan 4 form before charging at the Four-Star Dragon once again.
