Chapter 101: Chapter 101: Rumble-Rumble Fruit Awakens
After effortlessly wiping out a pirate crew lost in daydreams, Kaito scanned the surroundings.
Pirates like the Black Bear Pirates, trying to enter the Grand Line, had two options if they lacked the skill or means to cross the Calm Belt: either pass through Reverse Mountain or give up. The sea zone where Kaito currently stood wasn't far from Reverse Mountain.
The pirates who made it here were of mixed strength. A few stronger ones retained some shred of humanity and wouldn't casually target civilians. But the weaker ones? The less capable they were, the more they preyed on civilians—committing atrocities without hesitation.
After all, pirates produced nothing of value. With no strength and lawless personalities, looting civilians became their best shot at survival.
In the end, the bar for entering the Grand Line was still far too low.
Kaito lowered his head, thinking for a moment. Since he was already here, he might as well do something. After all, he was now an Uchiha who had joined the Marines.
It seemed that every powerful Uchiha had an obsession—to create a peaceful and beautiful world.
Kaito didn't have such a deep-seated conviction. But he could still do what he could, within his power.
As that thought passed through his mind, the six tomoe in Kaito's right eye began to tremble violently. A terrifying wave of ocular power spread out. In his left eye, the single tomoe spun madly, shifting into a deep violet hue, crackling with electricity.
〖Rumble-Rumble Fruit — Awakened!〗
This was a power unlocked after awakening the first tomoe in his left eye: the ability to forcibly awaken any Devil Fruit power he absorbed by infusing it directly with his ocular chakra.
And this awakening wasn't ordinary. Because it was catalyzed by the Rinnegan's power, it also carried a faint trace of the Six Paths' strength—imbued with Kaito's own will.
The awakened forms of Paramecia, Zoan, and Logia fruits each had distinct characteristics. For Logia fruits, awakening typically brought catastrophic natural disasters and immense destructive force.
The blue lightning radiating from Kaito's body had now darkened into violet. The air itself buzzed with destruction, filling the sea with an ominous tension.
The tomoe and ripples in Kaito's Rinnegan were now completely obscured—replaced by two dazzling spheres of violet electricity.
Above the vast sea stretching thousands of kilometers, not a single ray of sunlight could break through. Thunderclouds crackling with violet lightning covered the sky.
A giant Sea King, a hundred meters tall, poked its head above the surface, curiously observing the environment.
A bolt of violet lightning descended from the heavens, striking it instantly and reducing it to a smoldering pile of ash.
This violet lightning wasn't something Enel's electricity could compare to. Without extremely strong defenses or physical durability, being struck meant total annihilation.
The entire sea within thousands of kilometers had become a Violet Lightning Hell—a demonstration of a Logia awakening's terrifying power to transform the climate of an entire region.
And because the thunderclouds carried Kaito's will, unless he deliberately held back, they would only attack pirates. Marines and normal merchant ships would remain unaffected.
Not long after the thunderclouds formed, thunder began to rumble continuously across the sea. Clearly, some unlucky pirate crews were still sailing through this zone.
Each thunderclap marked another pile of scum erased from the world.
Kaito gazed up at the endless canopy of storm clouds overhead. The violet electricity in his eyes gradually faded, revealing the original appearance of his Rinnegan—though tiny arcs of purple lightning still danced across its surface.
This Violet Lightning Hell was the perfect greeting for any pirate who arrived here. If they couldn't survive this, then they had no business disgracing themselves in the Grand Line.
Some dreams were better off crushed early.
After surveying his domain one last time, Kaito smiled faintly and once again dissolved into a bolt of lightning, vanishing into the air.

Marine Headquarters — Marineford
Inside the conference room, Sengoku and the upper ranks of the Marines were gathered around a long meeting table. For once, most of them had actually shown up. Tsuru stood with Gion at her back, nearly all the Vice Admirals were present, and of the three Admirals, only Borsalino was absent.
As for Borsalino—usually the king of slacking off—he had recently been suffering. Vegapunk had a batch of new weapons that required his help, and he had to stand by constantly.
Aokiji and Akainu sat opposite each other, arms crossed, not even glancing at one another. Akainu's eyes were hidden beneath his cap, making it impossible to read his expression, while Aokiji looked like he'd already fallen asleep.
The room was silent for a while—until the door burst open.
Garp strode in, arms full of rice crackers. In his view, Sengoku's meetings were always long and dull, and if he didn't bring snacks, he'd go crazy sitting through them.
Sengoku's forehead twitched. This guy was, once again, the last to arrive. Did he think the rest of them were just sitting here for fun? They'd been waiting on this glutton the whole time!
Suppressing his irritation—today's topic was actually a positive one—Sengoku couldn't let someone like Garp ruin the mood.
He cleared his throat and officially opened the meeting.
Everyone turned their eyes toward Sengoku at the head of the table.
Sengoku pulled out a newspaper and tossed it onto the center of the table. A full-page spread of bold headlines and a large photo stared back at them.
"Vice Admiral Kaito Creates Another Miracle — Golden Lion Dies on the Spot!"
Beneath the title was a photo of Kaito gripping the Golden Lion's throat. Kaito's expression was cold, while the Golden Lion's head lolled sideways—his neck clearly broken.
Say what you will about the media in the One Piece world—they were everywhere. No one knew how they'd snapped that picture of Kaito confronting Rayleigh last time either. Their professional level was off the charts.
Everyone who saw the headline had their eyes widen in shock.
Kaito—again. Now even the Golden Lion had fallen to him?
In contrast, Tsuru, Garp, Gion, and the three who had participated in the Minion Island incident—including Onigumo—looked relatively calm. They at least had some sense of Kaito's strength. Taking down a Golden Lion who had declined in power was still within the realm of possibility.
That wasn't to say they weren't shocked. After all, the Golden Lion had been a figure from the same era as Roger. For a man like that to fall to Kaito—it was hard not to be amazed.
Gion quietly gripped the hilt of her sword, Kinpira, reminding herself she needed to keep improving. She refused to become a burden in Kaito's future battles.
Sengoku swept his gaze across the room and nodded inwardly. This was the exact reaction he had expected.
Slaying the Golden Lion—there weren't many feats that could top that, short of taking down one of the current Four Emperors. The impact was monumental.
It was almost time—the final and biggest setup was about to begin.
Pressing both palms against the table, Sengoku spoke the shocking words:
"Given Vice Admiral Kaito's performance in this latest battle, I believe his strength no longer warrants any doubt. Taking into account his previous achievements, I've decided to designate him… as a candidate for Admiral!"
