Starting with 50 Spirit Stones and 2 Hours with My Senior Sister as Daoist Consort

Chapter 43 - Something Everyone in the Outer Sect Knows—Except Li Chuan

But the cultivation world’s different—especially for a general like Su Yaoyue. On the battlefield, facing enemies head-on, they won’t spare you just because you can’t afford Treasure Weapon armor. The worse your gear, the bigger the target on your back.

On the battlefield, surviving’s the top priority. No life, no cultivation—what’s the point?

Su Yaoyue used to be a general—probably got used to wearing Treasure Weapon armor. So after joining the Yin-Yang Sect, she nabbed a set.

That fiery red armor? Her signature.

Beyond that, among the sect’s Qi Refining disciples, you’d be hard-pressed to find another sucker like her.

Li Chuan overheard some outer sect senior and junior sisters saying this—they mocked Su Yaoyue behind her back, calling her a sucker. Why waste contribution points on armor instead of resources to rush Foundation Establishment?

Back then, Li Chuan thought they were just jealous—jealous of her looks.

What’s it to you if she wears Treasure Weapon armor or Magic Weapon robes? She’s got the goods to pull it off.

Now, though, Li Chuan’s mind went further.

Big daily expenses mean big Spirit Stone needs—time for him to step up, right?

No sooner thought than done—he got up, threw on his gear, and told the gaggle of junior sisters, “You sleep—I’ve got business.”

The junior sisters were sweet about it.

“Senior Brother, it’s late—be careful.”

“If you’re tired, rest somewhere—don’t push too hard.”

“Senior Brother, Xiaoyu’ll miss you—hurry back, okay?”

They figured he was off digging Spirit Plants again.

Xiaoyu-whoever—Li Chuan forgot her name the second he turned.

Forget these junior sisters—he didn’t even know the steward sister’s name.

Kidding? Lately, he’d been tossing Spirit Fruits he picked to them like candy.

Not much each, sure—but as the sugar daddy, did he need to bother with names?

Maybe if they outranked him someday.

And yeah, that could happen.

Li Chuan’s talent was average—even with top-notch resources, his cultivation speed had limits.

Among these junior sisters, some had killer potential. Barring accidents, they’d outstrip him eventually.

But that’s a long way off.

Li Chuan took off on his sword, chasing Su Yaoyue’s crew.

Her group was decent-sized—seven or eight people.

He knew Su Yaoyue was tough—didn’t get why she’d roll with so many.

Plus, this was a Spirit Plant Small World—no need to team up for beast kills.

“Could she be a guard?”

The thought stopped him cold.

Sure, her beauty was famous, but nothing said a stunner couldn’t play bodyguard.

Made sense—their flight speed wasn’t fast, meaning they weren’t strong.

Su Yaoyue, tenth-level Qi Refining—shouldn’t be this slow, no matter what.

She’d spotted him the moment he took off, but just glanced—no reaction.

Running into sectmates in a Spirit Plant Small World was pretty safe. Spirit Planting folks weren’t usually tough—low attack vibes.

Before he got close, they’d stopped.

Su Yaoyue stabbed the ground with her spear.

Firelight flickered around her.

“Fire Spirit Root!” Li Chuan smacked his lips.

Another elemental spirit root—no surprise her strength was solid.

As he neared, he clocked the others hovering midair.

A few at first- or second-level Qi Refining; the strongest matched him—fourth-level.

Combat-wise, though? He’d wipe this Spirit Planting crew.

Real fights aren’t games—kill one, the rest spook, and their strength tanks. They looked numerous but were a mess.

“Young brother, what’s up?” the fourth-level old geezer in the group asked.

A real old-timer—over a hundred. No breakthrough soon, he’d be toast.

Li Chuan’s eyes dropped below as he spoke. “I’ve heard of Senior Sister Su Yaoyue forever but never seen her. Didn’t expect to catch her here—so I came to pay respects.”

Down there, Su Yaoyue was tangling with a Monster Tree—its branches whippy, looking tender but packing stone-crushing force.

Her spear snapped several off.

Dodging and weaving, she showed off that jaw-dropping figure.

The old guy grinned, getting it. “Senior Sister Su’s fame’s all over the outer sect, but she’s rarely around—so few see her face. We get your drift, brother.”

Li Chuan pulled his gaze from the fight, curious. “Senior Brother, does Senior Sister Su hang with you guys often?”

The old guy gave a wry smile. “Her rates ain’t cheap—where’d we get the cash to hire her regular?”

Li Chuan nodded. As the outer sect’s top beauty, her fees wouldn’t be low—then it hit him: they didn’t mean Immortal Bond prices.

Still, “not cheap” fit—whatever the service, it’d cost.

“You hired her as a guard?” he asked.

They all stared, sizing him up.

“What? Did I say something off?” Li Chuan blinked.

He checked himself—dressed sharp, no broke vibe. What’s the issue?

The old guy eyed him, thoughtful. “If this weren’t our Yin-Yang Sect’s Small World, I’d wonder if you’re even one of us.”

“Any disciple who runs missions knows Senior Sister Su takes on kill jobs no one else can handle. You new here, brother?”

He eyed Li Chuan’s Magic Weapon robe and boots, hesitating.

Like Li Chuan felt—his robe and boots screamed quality. A newbie at fourth-level Qi Refining shouldn’t have this gear.

Li Chuan laughed it off. “Oh, that? I don’t do missions much, so I didn’t know about Senior Sister Su. Thought you just ran into that thing by chance.”

He pointed at the Monster Tree below.

Monster Trees aren’t Spirit Trees, Tree Demons, or Tree Spirits.

They’ve got attack and some movement, but no real smarts—or barely any.

Spirit Trees just soak up spiritual energy to grow—most lack attack power or brains.

Lots of Spirit Trees’ trunks and leaves work for crafting or alchemy; their fruits are clutch too.
