Chapter 18: I'll Blow You All Away
The residents of the Yan residence can be divided into two types: those who proactively make a move, and those who are too shy to do so.
Proactive types: Zhou Hongyu, Zhao Yuanzhen, Anna, sometimes Ye Jun. That's it.
The rest are passive types, but Tang Xiaolian and Xie Ruoxi often get to enjoy some benefits due to their close friendship.
So what about the others?
Su Yunjin and Lin Ning are victims of free-market competition. When Yan Yu didn't set specific allocation rules and welcomed any kind of challenge, those girls who just sat waiting for the boyfriend to pamper them quickly realized they were being sidelined.
Lin Ning was most sensitive to this injustice and her first instinct was to confront Yan Yu, but Su Yunjin quickly stopped her.
In the end, if something needs to be fought for and you haven't competed, then claiming "unfair distribution" will surely be ignored by everyone.
"We can only blame ourselves for not being proactive enough," Su Yunjin said in a low voice, "We're in our own team, yet we're less frequent in approaching the captain than outsiders. That doesn't make sense at any point in time."
"But we are girls, right?" Lin Ning huffed angrily, "How can you expect a girl to go and ask her boyfriend for... for those kinds of demands!"
"Girls have needs too and can take the initiative to express them," Su Yunjin said calmly, "They taught us that."
So Lin Ning fell silent. In today's paired arrangements, one is often the leader in the partnership. In the Ning Jin combo, the leader is undoubtedly Yun Jin, whom Lin Ning is willing to trust in judgment.
The two conferred for a moment, then decided to strike back hard, demanding compensation from Yan Yu for the recent neglect.
They walked through the walls into the room one after the other, with Lin Ning stepping forward to corner Yan Yu against the wall:
"Why haven't you been coming to see us lately?"
Secret Skill · Preemptive Strike!
Yan Yu's expression was noticeably unnatural. After all, as a man managing a harem, he should theoretically be spreading his attention evenly, but alas, some appetites were just too big, and the landlord didn't have extra grain to spare!
"I've been really busy lately..."
"Are you busy now?" Su Yunjin quickly interjected.
Even Yan Yu, despite his thick skin, couldn't lie with open eyes, so he chuckled and said:
"Just finished discussing business with Lord Master, so I suppose I'm free. What's up?"
"We want compensation," Lin Ning said.
"What kind of compensation?" Yan Yu regretted asking as soon as the words left his mouth. What kind indeed, "Ahem, then I'll go shower first."
The trivial Ning Jin duo was nothing Yan Xiao really feared. What he was worried about was the mantis stalking the cicada, unaware of the oriole behind. Afraid that just as he escaped the tiger's den, he'd end up in the wolf's lair!
Even the strongest hunter can't handle that many dens!
"Great, let me wash your hair," Su Yunjin smiled and said.
"I'll scrub your back!" Lin Ning chimed in.
They took Yan Yu to the bathroom front and back like prison guards escorting a prisoner, with eyes full of vigilance.
Yan Yu thought to himself that he hadn't even planned on using the shower as an excuse to escape. Besides, could such a rookie duo really push him to flee?
Ridiculous! Today I'll show you just how skilled my marksmanship is!
The bathroom door was closed by Su Yunjin. Before long, rhythmic scrubbing sounds started coming from inside.
Meanwhile, Zhou Hongyu returned to the villa with Tang Xiaolian, only to find Zhao Yuanzhen, Anna, and Xie Ruoxi sitting in the first-floor living room, each with arms crossed and legs crossed, expressions cold like bosses ready for a gang clash.
"You're back," Zhao Yuanzhen said.
"I'm back," Zhou Hongyu replied.
"You're late," Zhao Yuanzhen said.
"It's never late with you around," Zhou Hongyu said.
"I'm not the decider," Zhao Yuanzhen said.
"The decider isn't here," Zhou Hongyu said.
"Are you playing a game of pointless words?" Xie Ruoxi asked.
Everyone was silent for a moment.
"Whatever!" Zhao Yuanzhen said impatiently, "Everyone follow me upstairs!"
The girls marched upstairs with grandeur. Zhao Yuanzhen linked arms with Xie Ruoxi, Zhou Hongyu held Tang Xiaolian's hand, and only Anna was alone, yet she exuded the momentum of an army.
At this moment, she was incredibly inspired, her mind involuntarily beginning to craft a screenplay about a few girls who had been oppressed by the Demon King, finally uniting to overthrow him and trample his dignity hard under their feet!
Haha, Yan Yu! Today is the day of your disarmament!
With so many of us, we won't just make you surrender; we'll make you surrender again and again, so that in the future, you won't even think about challenging us!
The battle in the room had already ended; Yun Jin and Ningning were indeed defeated. The former lay defeated on the bed, while the latter was still having a final tussle with Yan Yu—clinging tightly to his thigh, refusing to let go.
"Let go, Ningning," Yan Yu said coldly, "You've lost."
"No, I haven't!" Lin Ning, though exhausted, stubbornly kept her mouth stiff, "I still have strength!"
"Then get up if you can," Yan Yu said.
Lin Ning struggled to sit up, but her thigh muscles felt as if they had done hundreds of squats, sore and heavy... Recalling carefully, indeed, there had been hundreds.
Yan Yu pushed her back onto the bed and pulled up the quilt to cover her body.
Tears of stubbornness welled in Lin Ning's eyes, feeling wronged and pitiful, but Yan Yu quickly sealed it with a kiss, quenching her last thoughts of resistance, leaving only a faint sweetness and sadness.
