Chapter 306: Controlling The Masses

"Take five million out of my share from the crystals you sold and add it to a new account for the guild. Make it so that Griselda has access to the funds as well, so you can go to her for anything regarding guild expenses."

Juliet's eyes widened in surprise, and even Gina looked shocked by what Jason just said! Five million dollars was a lot of money! Did Jason really want to leave something like that in the hands of someone like Griselda?

Juliet tried to reason with Jason.

"M-Maybe we should wait until you get back from your Gate Dive before—"

"No, Griselda wanted this, and she's the one who started it, so I'm going to put some trust in her. If she ends up betraying my trust, then it means she was never good enough to own a guild in the first place."

Jason knew that he wasn't going to be available to contribute to the running of the guild as much as he should be, so the best course of action now was to put a lot of trust in the people who were around him and hope that they would be capable of handling the problems in their own way. Griselda was the owner of the guild, so if Jason couldn't trust her, then there would be no point in him being in the guild at all!

Juliet put her hand on her forehead while shaking her head in disbelief before she finally decided to let it go. Jason was a multimillionaire, so she knew that five million dollars wasn't really going to make a dent in his net worth. It was just so shocking to see how easily he was willing to give it out.

"I'll make the necessary arrangements, and I'll tell Griselda about the new developments. I just hope she can live up to your expectations so everything works out well. Sigh~ It's been a long night. You guys should probably get some rest before the sun comes up. I'll see you tomorrow."

Juliet waved as she began moving towards the stairs to go back to bed, and Jason told her goodnight. But she stopped just before vanishing upstairs and spoke.

"Oh, you should also think up a name for the guild before the meetings tomorrow. I don't think you want Griselda to say whatever comes to her mind when they ask for a name."

Jason nodded with an amused smile, and Juliet smiled back at him, but Jason suddenly clicked his tongue, and Juliet raised a curious brow. Jason looked down in irritation when he heard Esdath speak up again!

'Wait! Before she goes, can you tell her to step on me! Just put me on the floor and let her step on me!'

Juliet could see a shadow coming over Jason's expression, and she asked Jason if everything was alright. Jason let out a tired sigh as he ignored Esdath, and he said that everything was fine. He was just a little sleep-deprived. Juliet laughed and told Jason that he had better get some rest soon before she vanished upstairs. Once Juliet was gone, Gina tightened her hold around Jason's shoulder and spoke with a pout.

"You seem really close with her."

Jason raised a brow and turned to glance back at Gina, and he saw her staring at where Juliet had just disappeared with narrowed eyes. Was she jealous?

"She's just my manager."

"I know that, but I don't think she does. I don't trust her."

Gina glared at the stairway with a deeper pout, and Jason just chuckled as he turned around and kissed her softly. Gina had always been a very observant person, and Jason knew that she wouldn't just be jealous for no reason. But Jason wasn't planning on acknowledging the advances from any other woman since he didn't want to disrupt his relationship with Gina, so Gina didn't have to worry about all that.

'Hohoho, so you'll be okay with it so long as your woman agrees to you having more women! I see you are truly a man of culture! You should take that older woman first! She looks like she will be an animal in bed!'

The sword suddenly spoke up again, and Jason finally focused on cutting his mental link with it! Esdath cried out as he was suddenly thrown out from Jason's subconscious and Jason sighed calmly when the voice finally went silent! That fucking bastard was getting on his nerves! Jason was definitely going to have to find a way to exorcise that bastard later, but for now, he would focus on their upcoming battle. Jason told Azrael to start his preparation for the [Soul Drain] rune, and Azrael nodded as Jason began pulling Gina upstairs for them to rest. Juliet was right about it already being late, so they needed to rest before going for the Gate Dive tomorrow.

[The next day]

"Hey, did you see the news on social media? New Jersey is absolutely wrecked!"

"Wait, really? I thought the superhumans were going inside the Gate?"

"I don't know, man! They keep saying stuff about dragons and people from another world! Look at Twitter, dragons are trending like crazy!"

"Dragons? Didn't that new superhuman have a dragon? That Jason guy?"

"Yeah, dude! He was trending last week! But some people are saying that we're getting invaded by people from another world or something."

"Another world, eh? Do you think that's possible? I mean, if we were going to meet aliens, then we would've met them already."

"Yeah, I guess you're right! But that new superhuman Jason Marc's going inside the Gate today with his new Guild. Turns out he got the license from the SMD over the BloodRaven guild. It's not really surprising since Katarina's a criminal now."

"Really? Didn't Jason only awaken like a month ago!? How in the world does he already have a guild? Help me look it up, what's their name?"

"One sec, I think it should be trending. Oh yeah, here it is. Jason Marc is going into the Yellow Gate as the captain of the newly created Monarch Guild."

The entire country was abuzz with news of the Yellow Gate and the attacks from the dragons. There had been a lot of rumors going around the country about what had happened in New Jersey and how there had been giant dragons and dragonriders that came out from the Gate and destroyed most of the city, but Gaia had been working hard to make sure that there was no evidence that would allow anyone to prove the existence of the dragonriders. Every single cellphone and recording device that the superhumans or regular civilians had used to take pictures of the dragonriders had mysteriously been wiped clean, so the only thing that the witnesses could use to tell others about what they had seen was word of mouth! Gaia didn't care if anyone knew about the existence of the dragons since those were just regular magical beasts, but once people started talking about dragonriders that behaved and moved like humans with superior intelligence, Gaia knew that there would be a massive panic across the entire world! This lack of proper evidence allowed Gaia to plant various people across social media who would bring up points that countered anyone who was trying to claim that there was such a thing as an other-worlder!

The director of the SMD in New Jersey even went on the news a few hours after Jason cleared out the city and killed all the attackers, and he gave an official statement concerning the attack. Everyone waited patiently to hear what had really happened that caused the entire city to be destroyed, and many of them already expected to hear stories about dragons and people from other worlds since those were the rumors that had been going around all this time! But the Director's words turned out to be completely different.
