Chapter 409 Final
"I have delivered the message, Master Kartis, Brother Kartis, I shall take my leave." Zon Kerol cast a meaningful glance at Blaze Regret before turning around and walking out of the Kartis Family residence.
"What exactly is your relationship with Nor Amelia?" Kartis Kian stared at Zon Kerol's retreating figure, then turned his gaze to Blaze Regret, his tone filled with accusation.
Upon hearing Kartis Kian's question, many people wore amused expressions. Kartis Kian's repeated pursuits of Nor Amelia, only to be repeatedly rejected, was no longer a secret in Snow Storm City.
That girl in black, like a black lotus growing in the abyss, could only be admired from afar but never approached. Not even a genius like Kartis Kian could make her spare him a glance.
"What does my business have to do with you?" Blaze Regret lazily rubbed his face. Even from a distance, he could clearly sense the jealousy in Kartis Kian's words.
As soon as Blaze Regret finished speaking, the young generation present was momentarily speechless. They looked at Blaze Regret in disbelief, feeling a sense of suffocation. That was Kartis Kian, the fourth ranked individual on the Ice List!
Even Kartis Van, on ordinary days, wouldn't dare to speak to Kartis Kian in such a manner!
"You better know who is standing in front of you." Kartis Kian's face darkened like water upon seeing Blaze Regret's demeanor. If it weren't for the significant age difference, he would have wanted to strike him down on the spot.
"Kian er," Kartis Sham slightly frowned and spoke calmly.
"Hmph."
With a cold snort, Kartis Kian glared at Blaze Regret, his eyes icy as he sat down. Over the years, Blaze Regret was the first to speak to him in such a manner.
Thus, sooner or later, he would make Blaze Regret understand the price of disrespecting him.
"Alright then, Master Kartis, Blaze Regret is an honorary elder of the Thousand Stone Hall under my command. If there is nothing else, I will take him back to assume his duties." Mut Lin stood up, smiling broadly, with none of the previous tension.
"Then congratulations to the Angsana Pavilion on gaining another fourth grade alchemist." Kartis Sham also stood up, cupped his hands with a friendly expression.
"Old fox."
As they observed the two individuals whose expressions changed faster than one could flip a book, everyone present couldn't help but harbor secret criticisms in their hearts. However, they also understood that maintaining a facade of harmony between two equally powerful forces was absolutely necessary.
Otherwise, if conflict truly erupted, it would only result in other factions taking advantage and reaping the benefits.
"Blaze Regret, let's go."
As he walked over to Blaze Regret, Mut Lin gently patted his shoulder, his expression one of great satisfaction. Defeating Kartis Van with the strength of a ninth level spiritual Imperial master was indeed worthy of being the descendant of an old friend.
Watching the backs of Mut Lin and the others, a sharp glint flickered deep within Kartis Sham's eyes. In the instant Blaze Regret emerged from the ancient mirror, he clearly caught sight of the deep, mysterious orb in the latter's hand.
"No wonder he could escape from the ancient mirror; he relied on that orb." Kartis Sham's lips curled into a sinister smile. Having seen it, he had no reason to let it go.
"Father, at the All Star Banquet, I will find a way to get that orb," Kartis Kian said with a calm voice, but anyone could hear the coldness in his words.
His intent to kill Blaze Regret was now evident.
Daring to meddle with Nor Amelia was reason enough for him to want Blaze Regret gone.
"Hehe, with Mut Lin here earlier, forcibly detaining someone was obviously unrealistic. However, I want that orb, but as for the person, I don't want to see him ever again," Kartis Sham's chilling voice slowly resonated.
Upon hearing this, Kartis Kian nodded with a smile. Then, he flipped his hand, revealing a transparent glass shard between his fingers.
"Crack!"
As the glass fragment shattered, the surface of the massive ancient mirror twisted, and soon the scene from within the Thunder Abyss reappeared.
"Although we can't enter, we can still manage to take a look, and perhaps deduce how that kid acquired so many Thunder Soul Orbs," Kartis Kian said with a smile as he raised his head, only for his smile to freeze instantly.
The vast Thunder Abyss was pitch black, with dry branches swaying violently in the howling wind. Yet, at this moment, not a trace of lightning could be found within the Thunder Abyss.
"What's going on!"
Kartis Sham was shocked to his core, his previously calm and composed face now filled with horror.
The Thunder Abyss, which the Kartis Family depended on for their prestige, was gone?
...
"Uncle Mut, a year ago, some people from Snow Storm City came to Velorian City and took my father away. You weren't aware of this?"
Walking along the wide street, Blaze Regret's brow was tightly furrowed. The way things were unfolding seemed to be beyond his expectations.
"Don't worry. Although your father's strength has sharply declined, his means of preserving his life are something even I cannot compare to. Perhaps he's gone to find a way to lift the seal within him," Mut Lin reassured.
"Is the seal that powerful?" Blaze Regret's eyes held a trace of doubt. What kind of seal could suppress a severely injured Spirit Sovereign Realm expert down to a mere Spirit Lord Master, leaving him unable to progress for years?
"Very powerful," Mut Lin nodded quietly. "It's said that Kartis Sham accidentally acquired it in some ancient place, and nowadays, it's difficult for anyone to find a method to break it."
"Kartis Sham." Coldness spread through Blaze Regret's eyes. One day, he would make that duplicitous man pay a heavy price.
"By the way, Gen Yun."
Turning his head, Mut Lin called out to the distracted Gen Yun a few more times: "Gen Yun, Gen Yun?"
"Master," Gen Yun was startled and immediately bowed his head respectfully.

"From now on, Blaze Regret will be under your care. He is the descendant of an old friend of mine, so make sure to look after him," Mut Lin said with a smile.
"Rest assured, Master, I will take good care of him," Gen Yun replied, glancing sideways at Blaze Regret. As for what he meant by "taking care," only he truly knew.
With a faint smile on his face, Blaze Regret bowed to Gen Yun, though his smile carried a hint of coldness.
Playing with the invitation forged from ice between his fingers, Blaze Regret glanced back in the direction of the Kartis Family. Life in Snow Storm City was just beginning.
As the chilling winds swept through the streets, carrying whispers of old rivalries and unspoken secrets, Blaze felt an undeniable pull towards the tumultuous history that surrounded him. The Kartis Family, once not a formidable force in the city, had become the strongest force from the past, he need to work hard to.
Gen Yun observed closely, noting the flicker of determination in Blaze's eyes. It was clear that beneath the boy's seemingly calm exterior lay a tempest of ambition and resentment, a desire for revenge to those that work together before when his father injured. "You must understand, Blaze," Gen Yun said, his voice steady yet soft, "this city can be both a friend and a foe. Choose your alliances wisely, for they will define your path."
Blaze nodded, the glint in his eyes sharpening. He understood that he was to weak now to fight Kartis family and take revenge to those that injured his father. He will work hard to make it happen. He will also fufill the promise that he make with master Magi to search for his long page.
As the evening drew near, the sky above Snow Storm City transformed into a canvas of deep blues and purples, with stars beginning to twinkle like diamonds scattered across velvet. The air buzzed with anticipation for the upcoming festivities, a masquerade ball hosted by the Kartis Family, where masks would conceal true identities and hidden ambitions would be unveiled.
With a final glance at Gen Yun, Blaze turned away, his resolve solidifying. He would not allow himself to be constrained by the expectations of others. Instead, he would carve his own destiny, one that would echo through the halls of Snow Storm City for generations to come.
The invitation remained clutched tightly in his hand, a reminder of the opportunity that lay ahead and the path he had to forge, not just for himself, but for the legacy of his ancestors. As he stepped into the night, Blaze Regret whispered to the wind, "Let the storm begin."
