Summertime Loving

Chapter 68: Chapter 67

Travis finished his shower and stepped out, fully dressed and ready to move on to his next stop—meeting Ronda at the pool. It was getting late, so he knew he needed to pick up the pace. Grabbing his things, he headed downstairs, where he found Beth seated on a stool at the kitchen counter.

When she noticed him, Beth turned with a soft smile that gradually brightened as she rose to her feet.

"Um, are you staying for dinner?" she asked, a hopeful hint in her voice.

Travis chuckled, closing the distance between them. "No, I'm in a bit of a rush. But maybe next time, I'll come unannounced and spend the night with you all."

"Oh, that's unfortunate," she replied, though her smile held a hint of warmth. "Well, it was nice to finally meet you. Just take care of my daughter, okay?"

He gave her a reassuring nod. "Don't worry. I'd never do anything to make Judith upset. I should get going. Bye."

With a quick wave, he stepped out of the house, picking up his pace until he was sprinting back home.

Beth sat back down and sighed in relief, feeling the tension slowly ease from her shoulders. She had barely managed to keep herself together while talking to Travis earlier. Every time her eyes fell on him, a rush of heat surged through her, intensifying in a way that was hard to ignore.

'I need to relieve myself,' she thought, quickly making her way upstairs to her room.

.....

Travis arrived back home, dropping off his other things and grabbing just his swim shorts and whatever else he'd need. He checked his phone and noticed a message from Ronda, urging him to hurry up and get there.

'Damn, she's impatient,' he thought.

He left the house and strolled down the road. It wasn't far, so he arrived quickly. As he approached the pool, he was greeted by a crowd of people splashing around. Travis couldn't help but wonder how he'd manage any training here when it felt impossible to swim a few meters without bumping into someone.

Upon entering, he spotted Ronda standing at the edge of the pool, staring at the water with a look of defeat. She wore a green swimsuit that hugged her perfectly fit body, accentuating her curves beautifully.

"Yo," he said, taking his place beside her.

She turned to him, a smile breaking across her face at the sight of him, but then it faded as reality set in.

"Um, you're here. You should hurry and get changed first," she urged, her expression shifting.

He nodded, grabbing his things and heading to the changing room. He knew he needed to behave, even though a part of him wanted to push boundaries. Not today, though; he didn't want to be labeled a pervert in front of the crowd. He slipped into an empty stall and changed quickly, emerging a moment later.

'Why am I here again?' he wondered, until he spotted Ronda sitting on the poolside.

"So, when's the training beginning?" he asked.

"It's canceled, as you can see. Saturday isn't the best day for something planned. Let's just leave," she replied, disappointment evident in her voice.

"Huh, I just arrived, though. Maybe we should try later when there's no one here. But for now, let's just chill," he suggested.

Ronda turned to him, curiosity piqued about what Travis had in mind. She prided herself on being one step ahead, but in this moment, his intentions felt elusive and unpredictable.

She nodded, dismissing any lingering doubts. After all, what could possibly go wrong?

They settled onto the poolside, legs dangling just above the water, the sun casting a warm glow over everything. The sound of laughter and splashes filled the air, but for Travis and Ronda, it was as if they were in their own bubble, isolated from the chaos around them.

"Can you believe how packed it is today?" Travis said, glancing around at the throngs of people enjoying the pool. "I didn't expect this many people on a Saturday afternoon."

Ronda laughed lightly, brushing a loose strand of hair behind her ear. "Yeah, it's like everyone decided to come out and swim at once. It's a bit overwhelming, honestly. I was hoping for a quieter day to train, but I guess we'll make the best of it."

"What kind of training were you thinking?" he asked, genuinely intrigued. "Are we talking about actual swimming drills, or more like a fun 'how to not drown' session?"

She chuckled, her eyes sparkling with amusement. "A bit of both, I guess. I wanted to help you get more comfortable in the water. You seem pretty confident, but I bet you'd benefit from some tips."

"Tips, huh? Are you sure you're not just trying to challenge me at everything you're good at?" he teased, nudging her lightly with his shoulder.

"Me, of course not?" she replied, matching his playful tone. "But seriously, I think you'd be a natural. You just need to relax a bit and let the water do its thing."

As they spoke, their conversation flowed effortlessly, covering everything from favorite childhood memories to their most embarrassing moments. Ronda shared a story about the time she attempted to impress her friends by diving off the high board and belly-flopped instead, leaving her red-faced and gasping for air.

Travis laughed heartily at the image, "That's classic! You're braver than I am. I can barely muster the courage to jump into the shallow end without worrying about belly flopping myself!"

"Don't worry; I'll be your coach when the time comes," she said, grinning. "Just remember, the key is to embrace the fall."

They exchanged stories, and as they did, they grew more comfortable with each other, the initial tension from earlier fading away. Ronda found herself drawn to Travis's easy laughter and genuine interest, while Travis admired Ronda's passion and confidence.

As they talked, they began to lose track of time, the sun slowly descending in the sky, casting a golden hue over the water. The world around them blurred into a distant hum, with the laughter of others fading into the background. It was just them, two people sharing moments that felt surprisingly intimate.

"Okay, I have to ask," Ronda said, leaning in slightly, her tone conspiratorial. "If you could have any superpower, what would it be?"

Travis leaned back, considering the question. "Definitely the ability to teleport. Imagine skipping all the boring travel and just popping up wherever you want!"

"Teleportation? Really? That's your dream superpower?" Ronda laughed, shaking her head. "I was expecting something cooler, like mind control or super strength."

"Hey, I like the idea of being able to avoid traffic jams and long flights," he shot back, a playful smirk on his face. "Besides, think of all the extra sleep I'd get!"

"Fair point," she admitted, chuckling. "I guess that would be nice. But I still think mind control would be way cooler. Just think of the possibilities!"

" Hmm I know what can't of women you are" he said as he stared at suspiciously.
