Chapter 3: Chapter 2 – So… What the Hell is My Class?
[Ignisveil Fortress – Lyria's Quarters]
Kaito let out a long, exhausted sigh.
After everything that had just happened—crash-landing into a demon girl's bed, nearly getting incinerated, and barely talking his way out of immediate execution—he really needed a moment to process things.
Unfortunately, the universe had other plans.
[SYSTEM MESSAGE]
'Oh? Look who finally decided to acknowledge my existence.'
Kaito blinked as a translucent blue screen popped up in front of him.
[SYSTEM MESSAGE]
'Just yesterday, someone said "Shut up, system" and ignored me like a damn NPC. But NOW, when it's convenient, you suddenly care?'
Kaito stared at the text. His eyebrow twitched. "...Are you holding a grudge?"
[SYSTEM MESSAGE]
'Me? Hold a grudge? Nooo. I'm just a totally neutral, 100% helpful guide. In fact, let me help you!'
Another window appeared.
---
[NEW TITLE ACQUIRED!]
Congratulations! You have unlocked: [Lost Idiot in Demon Territory!]
---
Kaito twitched harder. "...You absolute bastard."
[SYSTEM MESSAGE]
'Ah, the sweet sound of gratitude!'
Kaito clenched his fists. (I swear, if I ever get an "Uninstall System" option, I'm taking it.)
Fine. Whatever. If this damn system was going to keep harassing him, he might as well check his status properly.
Taking a deep breath, he muttered, "Status."
The screen shifted, and a new window appeared.
---

Kaito stared at the screen. Then he stared some more.
"…What the hell am I looking at?"
The system, ever helpful, decided to clarify.
[SYSTEM MESSAGE]
'You are looking at your stats, dumbass.'
Kaito clenched his fists. "I swear I will find a way to delete you."
[SYSTEM MESSAGE]
'Sure, buddy. You do that.'
Ignoring the smug text box, Kaito analyzed his stats.
"Alright, so I'm Level 1. My Strength, Agility, and Endurance are all… kinda weak. Intelligence is decent, I guess? Luck is a question mark… which is terrifying. Charisma is weirdly high, but I don't know if that's good or bad…"
Then his gaze landed on his class.
"Unscripted Hero? What kind of bootleg class is that?"
As if waiting for that question, another system message popped up.
---
[CLASS INFORMATION]
'Unscripted Hero: A chaotic anomaly outside the world's predictions. Your actions shape your skills, and your skills shape your fate. The path is unknown, and so are your abilities. Good luck! You'll need it.'
---
Kaito read it twice. Then a third time.
"…So what I'm getting is—I have no idea what my own skills are, and I get new ones based on… random circumstances?"
[SYSTEM MESSAGE]
'Ding ding ding! We have a genius over here!'
Kaito resisted the urge to throw something.
"Okay. Fine. Be like that. Let's check my skills." He tapped on one of the [???] icons.
---
[Skill: ???]
Description: 'Try using it and find out, genius.'
---
Kaito twitched. "OH, COME ON."
He checked the others. Same vague response.
The system was actively refusing to explain his abilities.
Kaito groaned, rubbing his temples. "...So my powers are basically a giant question mark. Fantastic. I love my life."
As if things weren't bad enough, a voice suddenly interrupted him.
"What the hell are you muttering about?"
Kaito froze. Slowly, he turned his head.
Lyria was standing in the doorway, arms crossed, red eyes narrowed in suspicion.
"Uh—n-nothing! Just talking to myself!" Kaito said quickly.
Lyria raised an eyebrow. "...You're weird."
Kaito sighed. (Yeah, well, you try getting thrown into a demon fortress with a sassy system and see how normal you act.)
Lyria studied him for a moment, then sighed. "Whatever. Get up. We need to move."
Kaito blinked. "Move? Move where?"
Lyria's lips curled into a smirk. "The Demon Warlords are gonna find you eventually. We either hide you properly… or you're getting sold."
Kaito paled. "I-I vote for option one!"
Lyria chuckled darkly. "Good choice, human."
And with that, Kaito's survival adventure truly began.
---
[Ignisveil Fortress – The Not-So-Secret Slave Ritual]
Kaito sat cross-legged on the cold stone floor, arms tied behind his back. Across from him, Lyria was busy drawing some very suspicious glowing symbols on the ground.
"Hold on, HOLD ON. You're skipping, like, ten steps here!" Kaito protested.
Lyria didn't even look up. "Shut up. Either I own you, or you get sold to some creep."
Kaito's eye twitched. "Those are both terrible options!!"
Lyria smirked. "Welcome to demon society."
Before Kaito could protest further, the heavy doors slammed open.
BANG!
A tall, armored demon with piercing golden eyes stepped inside.
General Zareth.
"Lady Lyria," Zareth said coldly. "What exactly are you doing with a human in a restricted chamber?"
Lyria clicked her tongue. "Tch—none of your business."
"Oh? I think it is." Zareth stepped forward, crossing his arms. "A noble demon secretly collaring a human? That sounds an awful lot like a political scheme."
Kaito blinked. (Wait. Huh? What political scheme?! This is just a kidnapping with extra steps!)
Zareth narrowed his eyes. "I could execute him right now… or I could take this matter to Her Majesty."
Lyria stiffened. "Tch."
Kaito swallowed. "Okay, so… what's option C?"
Zareth grabbed his chains. "There is no option C."
---
[Throne Room – Meeting the Demon King]
Kaito hit the cold, obsidian floor with a grunt. The impact sent a dull ache through his arms, but he barely had time to complain.
Because before him stood a monster in human form.
The throne room was massive, carved from black stone with glowing crimson veins running across the walls, pulsating like a living heart. Towering gargoyle-like statues lined the chamber, their twisted, horned faces frozen in eternal snarls. The air carried the scent of incense and something faintly metallic—blood, perhaps.
And at the very center, atop a throne of obsidian and silver, sat her.
The Demon King.
She was breathtakingly beautiful—long, flowing black hair that seemed to swallow the very light around it, eyes like molten rubies, and a smirk that sent chills down Kaito's spine. Even seated, she exuded an unmatched aura of power—one that made the air feel heavy, like the room itself was kneeling before her.
Zareth and Lyria immediately lowered their heads.
"Your Majesty," Zareth said, his voice steady but respectful. "I found them in a restricted chamber. The girl was performing a slave pact ritual on the human."
The Demon King's smirk widened. "Oh my. How scandalous."
Lyria tensed. "It's not like that—"
"Oh? Then what is it like?" The Demon King tilted her head, resting her cheek on her palm. "Because it sure looked like you were about to collar a human in secret."
Kaito, still face down on the floor, groaned. "I, too, would love an explanation."
Lyria glared daggers at him. Kaito glared back.
The Demon King chuckled. "How fun. It's been a while since I've seen a noble girl this flustered."
Lyria clenched her fists, but she didn't dare talk back. Zareth remained still, watching the scene carefully. Unlike before, there was no sarcasm in his voice—only duty.
The pressure in the room was suffocating.
The Demon King wasn't just strong. She was the apex predator of this world.
Then, she turned her glowing red eyes toward Kaito.
"Tell me, human," she mused. "What exactly are you?"
Kaito gulped. (Oh. Oh no. Oh sh*t. She's actually interested.)
And that's when the system activated.
---
[SYSTEM MESSAGE]
Skill Activated: Divine Authority (Bugged)
---
The air shifted.
A sudden pulse of power erupted from Kaito. The ground trembled. The air grew heavy.
Zareth's eyes widened. "What… is this?"
Lyria stumbled backward. "W-What the hell?!"
Even the Demon King paused, her gaze sharpening.
Kaito, meanwhile, was internally panicking.
(WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING?!)
His status screen popped up.
---
[STATUS UPDATE]
Skill: Divine Authority (Bugged)
Effect: Creates an aura of dominance and importance, making those around you subconsciously hesitate to act against you. Does NOT grant actual power. Enjoy the free intimidation.
---
Kaito's soul left his body.
(IT'S. JUST. A. BLUFF?!)
And yet, it was actually working.
Zareth visibly tensed, as if struggling between instinct and logic. Lyria looked frustrated and wary. Even the Demon King—while still calm—was clearly intrigued.
"Your Majesty…" Zareth said cautiously. "What is he?"
The Demon King tilted her head. Slowly, her lips curled into a sly smirk.
"Fascinating."
Lyria gritted her teeth. "Tch… Stop acting all high and mighty, you moron."
Kaito turned to her, annoyed. "DO YOU THINK I'M DOING THIS ON PURPOSE?!"
The Demon King chuckled. "Oh, this is getting good."
---
[SYSTEM MESSAGE]
Skill Activated: Heroic Bullsht*
---
A new wave of pressure filled the room.
Kaito had no idea what the skill actually did, but he decided to wing it.
He straightened his back, squared his shoulders, and let out a slow breath.
Then, he looked the Demon King dead in the eyes.
"I am not just some ordinary human."
The room fell silent.
Zareth's grip tightened on his sword. Lyria rolled her eyes.
The Demon King… smirked.
"Oh?" she murmured. "Then what are you?"
Kaito turned his back dramatically.
"That…" He lowered his voice. "…is a story for another time."
Lyria immediately kicked his leg.
"OW—HEY, WHAT WAS THAT FOR?!"
"You're an idiot."
The Demon King laughed.
"Hah! I like you, human."
She leaned forward, her crimson eyes gleaming.
"Kaito, was it?" she purred. "Forget being Lyria's property."
She smirked.
"You're mine now."
Kaito froze.
"…Wait. WHAT?!"
