Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 1097: Tagging Along

"Melissa?!"

Melissa's appearance bewildered all of them. How could that person be here when there wasn't a single word reaching her?

Evelyn glanced at Vivian, while Nathan looked at Flora. Both of them were the closest to Melissa, so they were the biggest culprits. But they shook their heads, claiming their innocence.

Evelyn cancelled the teleportation circle. In the first place, it looked like she wasn't shocked about their appearance, even though Evelyn and Bella were supposed to be dead.

Then again, they had revealed themselves, so information was bound to leak. Melissa might have heard about them through that leak. Nevertheless, the most important matter was what Melissa planned to do.

"What are you doing here?" Evelyn narrowed her eyes.

"I had been noticing the weird movements of everyone in the city. You looked like you were doing something big, so I did some digging.

"Although I couldn't find everything, I found out that you were trying to go to the sea, based on everything you brought.

"In the past few years, I had been researching those bastards' whereabouts. A place where no one could find them would be either across the sea or in the sky.

"So, I guessed it must be related to it. After seeing the two seniors, I realized my calculation was correct. You were indeed going to the sea, and there was only one reason for it."

"Sneaking around?" Vivian glared at her. "You definitely have a nasty habit."

"I don't care if you want to insult me as long as I can join." Melissa clenched her hands tightly. She, too, was someone who wished to move on.

Bella crossed her arms before glancing at Evelyn. Nathan might be their adviser, but Evelyn was their leader. It would be up to her whether Melissa joined or not.

Still, Evelyn might look strict to others, but she certainly took care of others. A helpless smile appeared on Bella's face as though she already knew her choice.

Evelyn paused for a moment. Ultimately, she asked, "Nathan. Do you think it's possible?"

Melissa's trauma was the worst. She witnessed the man she loved from the bottom of her heart getting sliced into pieces right before her eyes when he tried to save her.

The guilt, anguish, and anger were definitely beyond what they could imagine. Evelyn personally wanted Melissa to overcome her trauma.

Nathan let out a long sigh. Then again, Melissa was a smart one, with extensive knowledge. In addition, her status as an arcane level summoner could make the trip much safer.

Nathan scratched the back of his head before asking, "Do we have enough food?"

"There shouldn't be a problem for one more person."

"Bed?"

"We have one bed and a hammock for each of us, so taking turns shouldn't be a problem."

Nathan raised three fingers. "On three conditions. First, she is going to be interviewed. I want to see whether we can trust her on this expedition or not. After all, we will be facing a lot of powerful people. Recklessly charging at them will be problematic.

"Second, I'm not listening to her complaint. Third, no question about my judgments."

Melissa furiously nodded. "Yes, yes. I will definitely answer everything. I won't be complaining either. Besides, you have proven yourself as a capable leader with your group, so I have no objection to your judgment either. It looks like the rest trust you that much as well."

Nathan shrugged. "Your decision then."

"Thanks." Evelyn nodded before waving her hand as she restarted the teleportation circle. "Come in."

A huge smile appeared on her face as she excitedly rushed to the teleportation circle. In the end, they brought one more person than they had intended. Then again, it might be good for the team.

Melissa's specialty was trap magic. To kill so many powerful people, Evelyn alone wouldn't be enough. If they could bait the enemy into their traps, they might be able to wipe them out.

Still, because they never heard about Melissa, Revon and the others who had been waiting for the group on the ship couldn't help but look at her suspiciously. They wanted to know why Evelyn had decided to bring another person.

Before they could start, Evelyn asked first, "How are our preparations?"

"We can set sail at any moment," answered Revon. "We are waiting for your order."

They brought the ship all the way to the east, the closest point to Erendtall, their destination.

Evelyn nodded and climbed the stairs before announcing, "Everyone. Listen to me!

"The trip this time will be harder than you can imagine. We know next to nothing about the continent over there. Even to reach our destination, we will have to overcome a lot of challenges.

"However, our goal is clear. We have to reach that place, and I will make sure to use all my power so that we can reach our destination.

"That's why, trust me." Evelyn waved her hand. "Nathan."

"Got it." Nathan nodded casually. He summoned Kun and Mae.

"!!!" Melissa couldn't help but widen her eyes, seeing such a massive whale appearing in the air. Fortunately, the whale looked like it was capable of flying. It gradually came down and dove into the water without producing a wave.

The whale itself was multiple times bigger than the ship. A single flap of its fin was enough to destroy it, so Melissa worried that the whale might end up damaging the ship without realizing it.

What she didn't know was that the front part of the ship had been strengthened. In addition, this ship was made of extremely sturdy wood, so breaking it wouldn't be easy.

Vivian then formed long ropes made of roots, attaching them to their designated spots.

"Everything's good." Vivian nodded. "Do you feel any discomfort?"

"It's fine, he said," Nathan relayed Kun's message since his voice could only be transmitted to those with his summoning link.

"In that case, we will move this way, Lord Kun." Mae pointed in a certain direction. She had consulted Lilith regarding the location, so she should have no problem in navigating the ship.

"Got it." Kun then started slow and gradually increased his pace until a certain point before killing his acceleration and maintaining his speed.

"We're leaving the continent." Nathan grinned. "Our destination, Mermaid Island… I mean, Erendtall!"
