Summoning Pokémon in Naruto

Chapter 29: Chapter 29:

"Is that the Uchiha Hayato?"

The jonin whispered among themselves, their gazes converging on the boy seated beside Sarutobi Hiruzen. Though they already knew the meeting's purpose, seeing this child in person left them in awe.

"Even Orochimaru and Jiraiya didn't get this close to the Hokage at such a young age," one murmured with a hint of astonishment.

"Perhaps only Tsunade has received such favor in Konoha's history," another sighed.

Nara Shikazō couldn't help but think of his own son, Shikaku. Though sharp-witted, the boy's laziness mirrored his own too well. He wondered when Shikaku might finally shape up and be more reliable.

Sarutobi Hiruzen, seated at the center, radiated authority. His Hokage robes draped majestically over the chair, and his calm, commanding gaze swept across the room. "Let the meeting begin," he announced.

"Shikazō, please report on the development of the instant communication device."

"Yes, Lord Hokage," Shikazō responded crisply. He raised a document and began, "The instant communication device is capable of facilitating video calls among four individuals simultaneously. It will first be supplied to the ANBU and jonin squads. As for its maximum transmission range…"

He glanced at the others. "Unknown. However, as long as there is no strong interference from chakra, I believe it can operate anywhere in the ninja world."

He passed the document around for everyone to review, prompting a hum of murmurs. The jonin, well aware of the value of intelligence, realized that this invention would revolutionize communication. The age of carrier pigeons would soon be a thing of the past.

"Is that… Uchiha Hayato?"

Orochimaru, leaning against the wall, observed Hayato with his piercing golden eyes. The brilliance in his gaze intensified as he studied the boy's composed demeanor.

Jiraiya, on the other hand, remained silent, his head slightly bowed as though deep in thought.

Sarutobi turned to Hayato with a warm and expectant tone. "Hayato, the floor is yours."

Hayato nodded, his youthful but steady voice resonating in the hall. "Ladies and gentlemen, the instant communication device is one of the creations I summoned from another world."

The room fell silent.

"In that world," he continued, "there are creatures called 'Pokémon.' They live alongside humans, aiding in battles, work, and daily life. For instance, this bottle of milk, which can restore chakra, is produced by a Pokémon called 'Miltank.'"

Hayato retrieved a shiny bundle of silk from his bag. "This is silk spun by a Caterpie. Its tensile strength is remarkable, making it ideal for crafting durable armor."

Sarutobi seamlessly took over, his tone steady. "From this day forward, Pokémon will be recognized as a strategic resource for Konoha. No one is permitted to harm them. Hayato and I will establish a 'Pokémon Trading Company,' allowing every villager an opportunity to participate."

As the discussion shifted to the allocation of benefits and negotiations among clans, Hayato quietly excused himself, thinking, Let the Hokage handle the bureaucracy. My job was to showcase my worth; the rest is not my concern.

Once outside the hall, a cool, alluring voice interrupted his thoughts. "Hayato-kun, my teacher speaks very highly of you."

Hayato turned to face a pair of piercing golden snake-like eyes. Orochimaru stood still, his pale complexion and enigmatic smile adding to his otherworldly air. "Do you have time to talk? I'm quite intrigued by your Pokémon."

Hayato was momentarily taken aback. This isn't the unhinged scientist from the future but the current Orochimaru, the top contender for the title of Fourth Hokage. Even so, his demeanor has always been… unique.

Before he could respond, a hand suddenly pushed between them.

"Sorry, Orochimaru, but I need to borrow him for a moment," Jiraiya said with his trademark grin, casually stepping between them and ushering Hayato away.

"Hayato, you know who I am, right—"

"Make way! Move aside!"

Hayato barely had time to process what was happening before a warm hand grabbed his, pulling him forward amidst a waft of a faint fragrance.

He blinked and found himself face-to-face with none other than Tsunade.

Hayato was stunned. Sure, his ability to summon Pokémon was impressive, but was it worth this much attention?

He reflexively glanced upward, only to inadvertently meet a striking view that made him quickly shift his gaze elsewhere. He feigned nonchalance as he asked, "Tsunade-sama, what can I do for you?"

Tsunade narrowed her eyes. This little brat had the audacity to stare at her chest for several seconds! She decided to let it slide—after all, she had a favor to ask.

She put on a bright smile, her tone softening. "Hayato, you're about the same age as Nawaki. You can just call me Tsunade-nee. I actually need a little favor."

Hayato's expression turned peculiar. First Mikoto, now Tsunade? Was this a trend among Konoha women?

"Uh… Tsunade-nee, don't tell me… you're here to borrow money?"

Tsunade's mouth opened slightly in surprise.

She had indeed gambled away all her earnings again. Could word about my losses have spread so fast?

Having already inquired about Hayato's financial situation—knowing he had received a million ryo from Sarutobi and was about to launch a profitable business—she decided to embrace her cause boldly.

"Yes! I need to borrow a bit. I'll pay you back as soon as I win it all back," she declared confidently.

Hayato sighed. Even as a kid, she was this "exceptional."

Still, how could she shamelessly borrow money from a child?

"Fine," Hayato relented. "How much? And when will you pay it back?"

Tsunade faltered for a moment, then quickly recovered, plastering on a proud expression. "Don't worry about it. Once I recover my losses, I'll repay you."

"Wait a moment, Tsunade."

Both Orochimaru and Jiraiya stepped forward, unusually united.

"We have business with Hayato, too."
