The roof of the wooden house was covered in thick snow, and many icicles hung from the eaves. He pushed the wooden door, and it opened readily.

Inside the wooden house was a world apart from the outside; while it was a world of ice and snow outside, it was warm enough inside to make one drowsy.

An old-fashioned oil lamp burned a small flame on the table, providing the light in the wooden house. It seemed as if the warmth also emanated from it.

Besides the oil lamp, there were no devices like a stove inside the house to provide heat.

The interior of the wooden house was clean and tidy, with a small bed and a rocking chair covered with a blanket. Next to the desk and chair stood a wooden bookshelf with a few books on it, not many, looking somewhat scattered.

But in the face of the Cosmos, a hundred years and a thousand years are not much different; in comparison to billions of years, they are just a momentary flicker.
