Superman's Saiyan little brother

Chapter 567: Chapter 567: Deception and Tug-of-War

After initially being overwhelmed, Robert quickly regained his composure. Though he didn't understand the sudden surge in Grant's power, it didn't prevent him from continuing the fight, especially since a stronger Grant made the battle even more satisfying for Robert.

Grant's earlier distraction had already shifted the battle in Robert's favor. Despite Robert's combat power not yet surpassing Grant's, he had managed to suppress him. However, this outcome didn't please Robert because Grant's combat awareness and strength had started to decline. Like Servis, Grant had begun to doubt his ability to defeat Robert and was on the verge of giving up, losing the will to fight.

But with the sudden infusion of Hercules's power, Grant saw a glimmer of hope. Even though Robert had evaded several lethal attacks, Grant's newfound strength allowed him to inflict numerous wounds on Robert, more severe than those at the beginning of their fight. Grant, unlike Servis, didn't lie down and give up. Seeing Robert injured reignited his fighting spirit, and the power he now wielded surpassed even his true form in the dark dimension.

This immense power began to cloud Grant's judgment. He not only saw the possibility of defeating Robert but even believed he could triumph even if Robert used his light-attribute power. Consequently, Grant's aggression grew, surpassing his initial confrontation with Robert. Under the influence of his newfound power, Grant became increasingly lost, singularly focused on defeating and killing Robert.

Grant had completely forgotten about Morbius and Blade. While Hercules's plan partially succeeded, it didn't fully accomplish its goal.

With his strength and mentality both elevated, Grant's combat power was formidable, making it difficult for Robert to find an opening. Grant, now entirely focused, left no room for Robert to exploit his mistakes. Although there were minor flaws in Grant's attacks, the significant power disparity rendered them ineffective for Robert to counterattack.

Battle technique is crucial, but it becomes less relevant when there's a substantial power gap, limiting Robert's ability to turn the tide.

Grant's superior speed and strength placed immense pressure on Robert, but this pressure only excited him more because it was precisely what he desired.

"Bang!"

"Bang!"

"Bang!"

As Robert and Grant clashed, the surrounding area trembled, threatening to shatter the mirror dimension. If Grant had been in his right mind, he might have thought about escaping the mirror dimension or taking Blade and Morbius with him. But now, deeply engrossed in the battle, Grant had forgotten these objectives. His sole aim was to kill Robert.

Meanwhile, the battle's destructive force had worsened Servis's plight. Initially, the distant fighting didn't affect him much, but now the intensity was causing the ground to shatter and reform repeatedly, burying and unburying Servis, making him look increasingly disheveled.

Servis lay in the dirt, covered in soil and debris. With his current power, he could have avoided this discomfort, but he couldn't be bothered. He was waiting for death, so why waste energy on such trivialities?

As the battle threatened the integrity of the mirror dimension, Clark intervened. Under his guidance, the dimension's scope was reduced, allowing Clark's biofield to envelop it. This helped stabilize the dimension, preventing it from being destroyed by the fight's aftermath.

"Hmm? This guy seems much stronger than before..." Clark murmured, unaware of the developments in the dark dimension. He noticed Grant's increased strength and pondered the change. "What about the other guy? Did the Saiyan deal with him?"

"No, I see him. He's still underground," Kara responded, spotting Servis through the ground.

"Oh?" Clark's eyes glinted with curiosity as he saw Servis lying on the ground, injured but still capable of fighting. He couldn't understand why Servis wasn't joining Grant against Robert.

With a swoosh, Clark vanished and reappeared, pulling the prone Servis from the earth.

"Fight," Clark said firmly, facing the seemingly stronger opponent. Even without using light-attribute power, Clark's presence was daunting.

"You still have the strength to fight. Why don't you?" Clark asked, puzzled.

"You possess the power to restrain us. The outcome is already decided. Why bother resisting?" Servis shrugged nonchalantly. "Fighting or not, I'll die. Why waste energy? I'm not one for noble resistance..."

"Wow, he says that so calmly!" Pietro remarked, surprised by Servis's frankness. "If our opponent had been this willing to surrender, we wouldn't have had to struggle so much."

"You complained about not having enough enemies, and now you're whining about the effort?" Lorna glared at Pietro, frustrated by his inconsistency. If not for the toll of the battle, she would have taught him a lesson.

"Hehe, I didn't expect the enemy to be so strong. If he hadn't suddenly lost his power and form, even Superman might have had to save us," Pietro admitted, glancing at the battered Avengers with a grin.

Pietro's words weren't entirely off. The dark dimension's strongest beings were formidable, and the Avengers were all injured. Even with Tony Stark's anti-dark dimension gear, they struggled. Without those preparations, their situation would have been worse.

Despite their gear, they couldn't confidently kill the dark dimension strongman. His power and resilience were overwhelming, and the Avengers couldn't bridge the gap.

With Martian Hunter and Kara each handling an enemy, the Avengers lacked a tank to withstand such a foe. Even Steve, with his resilience, couldn't stand toe-to-toe with such a powerful being, only managing to draw fire and exchange a few blows.

Realistically, if the Avengers had another powerhouse like Kara or Martian Hunter, they'd still face a one-on-one with a dark dimension strongman. Thus, the Avengers knew they had to keep improving.

Nonetheless, there were positives. Their specialized weapons proved effective against dark dimension foes, and their teamwork allowed them to hold their ground against a top-tier dimensional strongman.

Typically, the strongest invaders reaching Earth's dimension would be at this level. Only a few, like Grant and Servis, would push the limits by making deals to exceed their power constraints.

"The enemy didn't vanish suddenly. His consciousness was obliterated, causing his form to disappear," Martian Hunter explained to Pietro, understanding the situation.

"His consciousness was destroyed?" Servis's eyes widened in realization, then he chuckled bitterly. "Well, Hercules, you really are ruthless. No wonder you were so generous with the power transfer. You killed them all. It seems I'll meet the same fate when I return."

Clark and the others exchanged glances. Clark then spoke to Servis, "It looks like you have enemies in the dark dimension. How about you share information on them? Maybe we can avenge you one day."

"Haha, getting dark dimension intel from me isn't that complicated..." Servis laughed, looking at Clark and glancing at Blade and Morbius.

"I won't survive returning to the dark dimension, but neither will Hercules. So, your offer to avenge me is moot. However, the dark dimension won't stop invading Earth until we've achieved our goal."

"If you want to stop future invasions, it's simple: let me take these two vampires. I swear on the dark dimension's essence that if I take them, the dark dimension will never set foot on Earth again."

"You've got quite the plan!" Tony Stark said, glaring at Servis. "If the dark dimension wants to fight, we'll fight! Next time, send more strongmen. Don't fall before we even start fighting! And a heads-up, we'll have even more ways to counter you next time. Enjoy that!"

Tony dismissed Servis's offer outright. Morbius was an Avenger, and they wouldn't abandon him. Servis's promises couldn't be trusted. Letting them take Blade and Morbius would only strengthen the dark dimension, making them a greater threat.

Without the light attribute to restrain them, even Clark might struggle against the dark dimension's strongest. Robert, despite his growing combat power, had limits. If the enemy's strength was overwhelming from the start, Robert wouldn't stand a chance.

"So it seems the dark dimension and Earth will be locked in a long-term struggle. Hope you're ready to face every invading dark dimension being..." Servis sighed, seeing the Avengers reject his proposal. He lay back down, taunting Clark to finish him off quickly.
