superstar: sings for everybody

Chapter 158: trip.

July 19.

The gesture of the press being more frequently seen, and the fact that so many people knew him, led Billy to be surprised when his agent set him up on a blind date with a woman. But they ended up meeting Michelle Trachtenberg, a beautiful woman who had been famous during the early 2000s. He was taken aback by the girl they introduced him to.

-Hey, I thought it was a total lie from my agent. But you're Billy Carson, - Michelle commented, completely surprised.

-Well, my agent told me you were famous, but I don't know you... that's what makes it a blind date... Billy Carson, - the guy greeted.

-Well, it may not seem like much to you, but I'm a young actress. I don't think you watch Buffy the Vampire Slayer, - Michelle smiled, surprised. She had come here to make a movie, and now, it turned out, she was on a date like this.

-Let's eat something, it's not good to stay standing in the middle of the room. It's better to eat and tell me about that movie you're going to be in, - Billy commented, noticing the press already snapping photos from different angles. They were all focused on how they could make him uncomfortable, but he simply entered the restaurant, which had a private table reserved for him.

He was wearing a maroon shirt with matching pants and $6,000 leather shoes, his hair styled back, and his beautiful eyes on display. The girl was nervous, and Billy noticed the difference. In his previous life, he wouldn't have called himself unattractive. But it was clear that now, he was incredibly handsome—among the best, hands down.

He wore a fragrance that made the woman sigh.

-I'm in a movie called Eurotrip. We're finishing up filming, just a few more scenes left, - Michelle said.

Eurotrip is probably a comedy, with many funny and complex elements about American students. At that time, they still had some of that '90s spirit when it came to their graduation age. The protagonist, Scott Thomas, believes he has his life figured out after graduating high school. He plans to attend college with his friends and continue his relationship with his girlfriend, Fiona, who is completely cheating on him, but he's too naïve to notice. But his life takes a turn when, unexpectedly, she breaks up with him during the graduation celebration, saying she's tired of him being "too predictable." She decides to take a trip across Europe in the least opportune way. They spend a lot of time together but ultimately understand that, in the end, they experience a real adventure everywhere.

-Would you invite me to the premiere, darling? - Billy asked, moving closer. His powerful body made the girl accept after exchanging contacts.

-Yes, you can come, - the girl responded, her bright blue eyes lighting up. She was very pretty, with a delicate profile, skin as white as milk, and expressive eyes. You could see every detail, and each part of her was fresh and had a princess-like aura.

She was a true teenage idol, who seemed very confident, but was nervous—she just knew how to disguise it in her speech and actions. But many little gestures Billy could observe, like her trembling hands, how she covered her chin, the tic of twirling her hair and avoiding prolonged eye contact, all pointed to the subtle signs. Over time, with more trust, he could see her blush, her stammering... the star stopped being an unreachable star and became a girl who seemed confident.

-Let me invite you, darling, - Billy said, looking into her eyes more sweetly. It was his way of showing that the nervousness of abdicating to someone who seemed unsure of many things was a common trait. Even people who seemed powerful and spoke confidently to the cameras still had many insecurities about themselves and what they were doing. When life is defined in front of cameras, they tend to perceive everything differently. Or, on the other hand, they don't care what others think and just do whatever they want, whether it's right or wrong. Moral character matters little.

-You know, I think you could do a quick cameo, - the girl responded.

Billy's eyes lit up.

-I think I could participate, - he said.

-Oh my god, I don't know how to handle this, I've never recommended anyone, but we're having trouble finding a rock star, no one seems to fit, - Michelle commented, speaking with her marked accent, which still had a magical quality to it.

-Then maybe I could have some fun with that, - Billy responded, sounding a little silly, but hey, a role is a role. If it could improve his relationships and show himself to the world, that was fantastic for him.

Connor played his drums with a long journey ahead. A girl greeted him, and he tried to respond but could only shrug and remain silent, watching her murmur and chat with many people. There was something about her that didn't sit well with him. Women threw themselves at him, and he didn't like the way they clung to him. It was annoying.

-They played in a bar. Spencer bought a bar where, interestingly, they served a few drinks and focused on music. It was a beautiful bar on a busy street, in a great location. It was amazing to see how they created a space to spread their music. -

-Want a strawberry shake? - Spencer asked, finishing up the set with Connor. They were practicing jazz as a way to move their hands.

-It's been a while since we went on tour, we'll make good money. I was planning on having you learn to drive. Your driver's license is a must, - Spencer commented.

Connor nodded. He would love a '68 Camaro. One that would give him style, with the top down, wind in his face as he visited the beach and claimed his place on the road.

-I want a Camaro, - Connor said, taking the strawberry shake in his hands as some newbies got on stage to play.

-We should tell Billy to come play. We'd fill the place, - Connor suggested.

-I'll call Mom so she can call him, -Spencer said, stroking his beard and trying to take a step that would give Billy enough time to get there. He'd come, sing a bit, record, and that was it. Mom would gladly feed him—meat, cakes, salads, empanadas, sausages. She knew the dishes he liked most.

-Let's do another round, - Connor responded, finishing his shake. The girl wouldn't stop looking at him, but it was better not to pay attention to the woman. Something just didn't feel quite right.
