Suppressing the Protagonist at the Start to Seize the Heroine

Chapter 211

Chapter 211: Mysterious Disturbance

“This is a bar, huh? There are so many people,” Jiang Ruoxi observed curiously as she looked around the bar.

During their university days, both she and Li Ziyu were student leaders who often heard about people going to bars, but they never went themselves due to strict family teachings. After graduation, as they took over their family businesses, they had even less time to visit bars.

The heavy metal music was so loud that it pained their ears.

“First time for the two beauties here? Would you like to start with some drinks?” a server approached them.

Li Ziyu nodded, “Do you have a quieter private room?”

“I’m sorry, private rooms need to be booked in advance, we only have a small booth available, would that work for you?”

Li Ziyu and Jiang Ruoxi followed the server’s gaze and saw a small booth in a corner. It was compact but would be sufficient for them to drink. Li Ziyu looked at Jiang Ruoxi.

Jiang nodded, “Let’s take the booth. How do you charge here?”

“The booth is available with a minimum charge of 1888 after an initial fee of 888.”

Jiang nodded, finding the price reasonable, “We’ll take the booth then.”

“Very well.” Jiang quickly swiped her card, and then she and Li Ziyu headed to the booth where the server soon brought them their drinks and a fruit platter.

Once seated, both felt slightly uncomfortable; the clientele here was very different from the usual crowds they mingled with. Normally, people glanced at them discretely, but in the bar, stares were unabashed, filled with noise and sinister smiles.

Anyone who had frequented bars could tell that Li Ziyu and Jiang Ruoxi were newcomers, easy targets for deceit, and already some were plotting their approach.

Just then, several luxury cars pulled up outside the Four Seas Bar. Handsome men and beautiful women stepped out, their cars bearing license plates from Yangcheng, the Capital, and Modu.

One of them approached Jiang Ruoxi’s car and remarked, “So this is Jiang Ruoxi’s car. Didn’t expect to see her at a bar, interesting.”

“Are you sure this is Jiang Ruoxi’s car, Wang? We’ve all heard of her prominence in Modu, known as a leader among the younger generation. Wasn’t it said that she never frequents bars?”

Wang Tao replied, “How could I mistake her? It’s a shame, that beast Xiao Feiyu has his eyes on her, and there are rumors of an arranged marriage between the Xiao and Jiang families, though I don’t know if they’re true.”

“And you, Ma Junjie, I heard you’re engaged yet here you are flirting around, aren’t you afraid your fiancée will drag you back to Yangcheng?”

Ma Junjie scoffed, “Afraid? She’s not worthy. If it works, it works; if not, too bad.” The Ma family dominated in Yangcheng, and Ma Junjie was used to being defiant.

“I wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for the news that Jiang Ruoxi was spotted. I wouldn’t bother coming to such a place otherwise.”

“Poor Xiao Feiyu,” another laughed, “Modu’s most romantically devoted man.”

“Let’s go see for ourselves. Jiang Ruoxi, a star of Modu, has been in Donghai for a few days and is already hitting the bars. It seems those stories about her might just be fabrications, she’s not all that great,” Ma Junjie said cheerfully.

As they spoke, a Lamborghini rolled up, its bright lights and rumbling engine stopping everyone in their tracks.

“That car looks like Xiao Feiyu’s,” Wang Tao noted.

“With Jiang Ruoxi here, isn’t it normal for Xiao Feiyu to follow?”

Xiao Feiyu stepped out of the car, surprised to see Wang Tao there. Although they were not close, they had seen each other at gatherings in Modu often enough.

Seeing Wang Tao and the attractive group with him, Xiao Feiyu realized these young elites were here for fun.

“Damn, even here I bump into people I know. Can’t even get some peace,” Xiao Feiyu thought ruefully.

“Wang, it really is you, I can hardly believe it. Are you here for Ruoxi?”

Wang Tao, feigning familiarity, acted as though he had never mocked Xiao Feiyu. Xiao Feiyu paused, “Ruoxi? No…”

Wang Tao laughed, “Come off it, Xiao. Her car’s right here. Don’t tell me you’re just here to party.”

Seeing the Ferrari, Xiao Feiyu was stunned.

“Is Ruoxi inside?”

Seeing Xiao Feiyu pretending to be oblivious, Wang Tao chuckled, “Come on, man . Stop acting. We came looking for you, don’t tell us you’re not here to keep tabs on your girl.”

Xiao Feiyu took a hard look at Jiang Ruoxi’s car, then walked into the bar without a word.

Wang Tao and Ma Junjie exchanged a look and followed him inside, their female companions trailing behind. These women, favorites of the young masters, were privileged to be brought along to Donghai. As long as they didn’t overstep, they were free to enjoy the spectacle.

Inside the bar, Xiao Feiyu quickly scanned the crowd and noticed a few dyed-haired youths hitting on Jiang Ruoxi, who seemed on the edge of losing her patience.

“Just have one drink, beautiful. If not, maybe just add me on QQ?”

Jiang replied coldly, “Get lost.”

“Heh, feisty. I like that.” As one of the young men reached for Jiang’s fair wrist, his own was suddenly seized.

Turning around, he saw several distinguished-looking young men behind the booth, one of whom, astonishingly handsome, held his wrist tightly: “Little punk, let go.”

Xiao Feiyu said coolly, “Say another word, and I’ll make you disappear.”

Having been suppressed by Su Lin and unable to speak out, Xiao Feiyu was not about to take insolence from a thug.

“Yo, you think I’m scared? Ahh!”

With one hand, Xiao Feiyu lifted the young man and slammed him onto the floor. “Get out…”

The troublemakers, realizing they were outmatched, quickly scrambled away.

“Ruoxi, are you alr—” Before Xiao Feiyu could finish, he saw Jiang’s mocking gaze, her disdain nearly tangible.

Jiang Rouxi shouted, “Xiao Feiyu, how many more times will you perform this hero-saving-the-beauty act? Do I always need to play along?”

“Ruoxi, I—”

“Who’s causing trouble here?”

A loud voice bellowed, and Yu Chao, along with several security guards, approached, parting the crowd as they moved. The noise in the bar subdued, and many turned curiously towards the disturbance.

Yu Chao hadn’t expected things to escalate so quickly. Just the time it took to smoke a cigarette, and Jiang Ruoxi and Li Ziyu had already encountered trouble. Luo Sihai had explicitly instructed him to ensure their safety.

Now, he berated himself for his negligence.

Seeing the manager approach, Xiao Feiyu quickly said, “I’ve handled the troublemakers. It’s all good now.”

“Who says so?”

Jiang Rouxi pointed at Xiao Feiyu, “They started the trouble.”

“Damn…”

“Shit!”

“Ruoxi, you—”

Wang Tao and Ma Junjie were stunned, suddenly implicated as troublemakers. But they were no easy marks and didn’t take Jiang Rouxi’s accusation seriously.

Even if they really caused trouble, as long as they weren’t wielding machine guns, a little misbehavior wouldn’t matter much in Donghai.

“Manager, please get rid of these pests. They’re ruining our drink,” Jiang Rouxi said indifferently.

Hearing this, Xiao Feiyu’s expression turned fierce. He was no one’s fool, and helping out had apparently backfired.

Yu Chao, knowing these men were from prestigious families, suggested diplomatically, “Gentlemen, perhaps you’d like to relocate? We have many other booths available, just pick one, and I can arrange it for you.”

“Arrange? No, I don’t need that. I want an apology from this girl,” Ma Junjie demanded, his eyes lingering on the striking Li Ziyu.

Jiang was stunning enough, but the ethereal beauty of Li Ziyu was even more captivating. Ma Junjie, who loved the thrill of conquering haughty women, was instantly smitten. Asking him to leave now was like asking for his life.

Yu Chao’s face darkened. This was Donghai, not Yangcheng or the Capital. Luo Sihai’s orders were clear: protect Li Ziyu and Jiang Ruoxi at all costs. He’d already failed once; failing again could mean severe consequences from Luo Sihai.

“Unwilling? I’m sorry, but you’re not welcome at Four Seas Bar.”

“Not welcome, that’s interesting, really interesting…” Ma Junjie, quick-tempered, grabbed a bottle and swung at a nearby security guard.

Unfortunately, he lacked any real martial arts training, and the guard easily dodged.

Seeing this, Yu Chao waved his hand, and several guards rushed forward.

Xiao Feiyu felt this fight was utterly absurd, but that was the reality—fights could start over nothing.

His only regret was not wearing a suit. Even so, his Wing Chun skills were formidable, though outnumbered, he quickly took some hits.

Seeing the situation, Yu Chao urgently addressed Li Ziyu, “Miss Li, the boss will be here soon. Could you and your friend please wait in my office?”

“Why hide? They wouldn’t dare do anything to us,” Li Ziyu responded coolly.

“This…”
