Chapter 270
Chapter 270: Stirring Trouble, Ruining Xiao Feiyu’s Good Deeds!
[Ding! Congratulations, host, the female supporting character Liu Shiwen’s favorability towards the host has turned friendly, earning you 2000 villain points!].
Hearing the system’s long-absent voice, Xiao Feiyu finally relaxed. He had racked his brains for villain points, but so far, had not managed to gather many. Mainly because all of Su Lin’s women were utterly devoted to him, making them immovable.
Moreover, Su Lin himself had grown significantly stronger, making it difficult for Xiao Feiyu to earn villain points through him.
Observing Liu Shiwen, who was devotedly caring for the ragdoll cat, a glint flashed in Xiao Feiyu’s eyes. He was determined to completely win her over; fully conquering her would net him well over ten thousand villain points, which he could exchange for cultivation techniques or other life-saving items.
Only then would he have a chance of self-preservation against Su Lin.
“Doctor, how long will it take for Xiao Bai to recover?” Liu Shiwen’s voice pulled the veterinarian back to reality, his cheeks flushed with embarrassment.
He was nearly thirty and still got distracted by a woman. Fortunately, neither Liu Shiwen nor Xiao Feiyu noticed, which would have been extremely awkward.
“Miss, ragdoll cats are inherently delicate. Given the severity of its injuries, it will take at least a month before it can walk again,” the veterinarian explained.
Liu Shiwen’s eyes darkened upon hearing this. She turned to Xiao Feiyu and muttered, “I don’t know how you’ve been raising it, its legs are broken.”
Xiao Feiyu coughed lightly, “Shiwen, as you know, cats naturally court disaster. I can’t always be watching it.”
Liu Shiwen pursed her lips. She knew what Xiao Feiyu said was true. However, many people raise cats without issue, which suggested Xiao Feiyu wasn’t taking good enough care. Yet, she couldn’t really blame him since he seemed to be taking good care of Xiao Bai now. She felt genuinely sorry for Xiao Bai.
“Shiwen, thanks for accompanying me to the vet for Xiao Bai. It’s getting late, how about I treat you to dinner?” Xiao Feiyu suggested.
Liu Shiwen glanced at the sky outside and initially wanted to refuse, but seeing Xiao Feiyu’s cautious demeanor, she thought it might be good to clarify things over a meal and nodded, “Let’s just find a casual place.”
She felt no romantic spark with Xiao Feiyu. Despite today’s improved opinion of him due to his treatment of Xiao Bai, she wasn’t naive. Ever since the Liu and Xiao families had started discussing a union, she had begun investigating Xiao Feiyu. His past actions in Modu were too reprehensible, whether true or feigned, for Liu Shiwen to accept.
If true, she felt she couldn’t compare to Jiang Ruoxi; if feigned, then he was too scheming. Her family was already complex enough without introducing such a person. Moreover, his overly purposeful demeanor was off-putting. So, she decided to clear the air over dinner.
Xiao Feiyu smiled radiantly, “How can I take Shiwen to just any place on our first dinner together? How about Purple Bamboo Garden? The environment is nice, and it has style.”
Liu Shiwen felt his words carried an ulterior motive. She opened her mouth to speak, but eventually decided it would be better to talk during dinner. It wasn’t the right time here.
Xiao Feiyu, seeing no dissatisfaction from Liu Shiwen, grinned internally. Just an NPC girl, after all; with deep enough schemes, none could resist. But his smile quickly froze as another notification sounded.
[Ding! Female supporting character Liu Shiwen’s favorability towards the host has turned cold!].
Hearing the system’s voice, Xiao Feiyu wanted to grab Liu Shiwen and ask why her attitude had changed so quickly. He carefully reviewed his own behavior, then summarized his experience.
Ultimately, he concluded that he had been too eager, making his intentions too obvious, which made Liu Shiwen suspicious. At this realization, Xiao Feiyu wished he could slap himself for being foolishly verbose.
As they just exited the pet store, they saw a familiar figure approaching, and Xiao Feiyu watched Su Lin with wariness. He wasn’t naive enough to believe in coincidences, especially since the place where he and Liu Shiwen were now was quite secluded in Donghai.
Seeing Su Lin at this moment, walking on the street, Xiao Feiyu felt certain Su Lin was here to cause trouble, specifically for him. Liu Shiwen recognized Su Lin as well, although their interactions had been minimal. But it was hard not to remember someone as handsome as Su Lin.
More importantly, Su Lin had quietly claimed Lin Xiaowan, a highly prideful woman, willing to share him with others. If she hadn’t seen it with her own eyes, she would have never believed it. Unlike Xiao Feiyu, at this moment, Liu Shiwen looked at Su Lin with curiosity.
Su Lin greeted them with a smile, “Miss Liu, Young Master Xiao, I didn’t expect to see you here.”
Xiao Feiyu sneered, “Young Master Su, did you really not expect this?”
Hearing Xiao Feiyu’s emotionally charged words, Liu Shiwen quickly realized. They weren’t far from the villa area, now in the suburbs of Donghai, and Su Lin’s own villa area wasn’t nearby; thus, Su Lin must have come here specifically to run into them.
Realizing this, Liu Shiwen’s intelligence snapped back into place. She remained silent, watching to see what Su Lin and Xiao Feiyu would do. Su Lin chuckled, “My Xiaowan wanted to see some cats, so I came here. Didn’t expect to bump into you.”
“Cats? Does Xiaowan like animals?” Liu Shiwen was puzzled. She had interacted quite a bit with Lin Xiaowan and had never heard that she liked animals.
Su Lin laughed, “She does!”
“Well, then…” Before Liu Shiwen could speak Xiao Feiyu intervened.
“If you want to buy a cat, you should go to a pet market. This is a veterinary hospital, Young Master Su. You might have gone to the wrong place,” Xiao Feiyu said blandly.
Su Lin laughed softly and then added, “Unfortunately, the pet Xiaowan was interested in was sold yesterday. It’s funny, she was looking at a ragdoll cat too.” After saying this, Su Lin looked at the ragdoll cat Liu Shiwen was holding.
Liu Shiwen looked at Su Lin strangely, not sure what he meant.
Then Su Lin made an exaggerated expression, “I heard it was sold for a high price. Young Master Xiao, it wasn’t you, was it?”
“I…” Before Xiao Feiyu could speak,
Su Lin shook his head, “Impossible, impossible. Your cat is like this; it can’t be the one that was sold yesterday.”
After Su Lin spoke he scrutinized the ragdoll cat in Liu Shiwen’s arms, “Ah, this appearance, it does look similar! Miss Liu, you don’t mind if I take a closer look, do you?”
At this point, Liu Shiwen already had her suspicions. After Su Lin spoke, how could she not understand his insinuations? She didn’t confront him immediately because the pet market sold pets every day; Su Lin couldn’t claim this one was definitely his target.
Nor could he say this was Xiao Feiyu’s scheme. But internally, she began to guard herself, resolving to thoroughly investigate once she get’s back. Otherwise, she might be fooled by Xiao Feiyu without even realizing it.
“Go ahead and look,” she said.
Su Lin moved closer, the distance between them less than fifty centimeters. He could even smell the fragrance emanating from Liu Shiwen. However, he was indifferent; having encountered many beautiful women, he had developed a certain immunity to them.
Just as he was about to reach out and touch the cat in Liu Shiwen’s hands, Xiao Feiyu interrupted, “Young Master Su, we have things to do. If you want to buy a cat, I suggest you go to a pet store. This is a veterinary hospital.”
Su Lin uttered an “oh” and then looked at Xiao Feiyu and whispered, “You don’t need to be so petty, Young Master Xiao.”
“Hmph…” Xiao Feiyu snorted coldly.
He and Su Lin were sworn enemies. At this moment, how could he not understand Su Lin’s malicious intentions?
“If there’s nothing else, we’ll be going.”
Su Lin shook his head and turned to Liu Shiwen, “Miss Liu, you should be careful when you go out. Some people will use any scheme to get close to you.”
“Su Lin… you…”
“What? Young Master Xiao, are you losing your temper?” Su Lin chuckled.
He wouldn’t mind if Xiao Feiyu started a fight. If it came to blows, he would strike to kill, and maybe even succeed in one hit. Xiao Feiyu saw the murderous intent in Su Lin’s eyes and quickly calmed down. He was not yet a match for Su Lin and needed to keep a low profile.
Turning to Liu Shiwen, he began, “Shiwen, we…” Liu Shiwen cut off Xiao Feiyu, saying calmly, “Mr. Xiao, you can call me by my full name, Liu Shiwen, or Miss Liu! My brother is waiting for me to have dinner at home, sorry.”
With that, she placed the ragdoll cat on Xiao Feiyu and turned to leave without any hesitation. If she couldn’t see the situation clearly by now, she would be a fool. Clearly, Su Lin had come to stir trouble, but she wasn’t upset because Su Lin had indirectly helped her.
As for Xiao Feiyu, she hadn’t jumped to conclusions and would need to discuss it with her brother. She believed that if Xiao Feiyu really was scheming against her, her brother would have obtained all the necessary information by now.

If it was a misunderstanding, she could apologize in person. If it was true, then she would no longer deal with Xiao Feiyu.
[Ding! Female supporting character Liu Shiwen’s favorability towards the host has turned indifferent! Note: The difficulty of re-attracting her in an indifferent state will double.].
