Supreme Hunter of Beautiful Souls

Chapter 119: Spiritual Invocation II

But Kael, watching from afar, remained silent. He just waited for everyone to draw spiritual energy from their surroundings... he was cautious... he realized that the surrounding energy could be used more efficiently if only he used it... so he waited patiently...

"You're too sagas." Umbra said smiling, she didn't even have to explain it to him, he learned it automatically the moment they started... 'His Spiritual Perception is otherworldly...' She thought...

"Kael, aren't you going to summon it? You're the only one left." Mizuki said a little worriedly, "Of course, you don't have to, many haven't succeeded, don't put too much pressure on yourself." She commented, as a tease...

Kael's golden eyes sparkled before he looked deep into hers and sighed... "Right." Kael just smiled reassuringly at Mizuki's teasing. He already knew that she was trying to toy with him, testing his limits in a subtle way, but he wasn't there to be intimidated. The challenge was there, right in front of him, and he knew exactly what he needed to do.

"I'm not one to push myself, Mizuki," he replied in a calm voice, but with a hint of defiance, his golden eyes twinkling in a way that made the whole room seem to stop for a second. He knew that all eyes were on him now. They expected something, but what exactly? He wasn't worried about living up to their expectations.

Kael closed his eyes for a moment, feeling the energy around him. The flow of magic he had already begun to understand was stronger, more palpable than anything he had ever experienced before. But unlike the other students, who were trying to summon spirits that aligned with their own limits of power, Kael wasn't interested in something simple.

'I'll do it my way...' He thought, as Umbra's words resounded in his mind. Too many sagas.

"So... let's see what I'm capable of," he muttered, his eyes closing as he began to channel his spiritual energy, now stronger and more controlled, with a confidence that seemed unusual for someone who was only just beginning to learn about summoning.

Mizuki watched intently, with a slight smile on her lips, but her eyes couldn't hide her concern. She knew Kael was different, but she wasn't sure how far he could go. She had no idea what he was about to do, but something told her it wouldn't be anything normal.

Kael, feeling the pressure of the spiritual energy growing around him, brought his hand up to his chest, where the necklace with Umbra's pendant lay. He knew that his connection with the forest fox was deep and true, but for something more... he would need more than just trust. He would need to trust his own inner strength.

With a sigh, he stretched out his hand in front of him, as if he were holding the void, and muttered a silent incantation. Spiritual energy condensed around him, swirling with increasing intensity. The room fell absolutely silent, all the students watching with wide eyes, trying to understand what was happening.

A blinding light began to emanate from Kael's hand, and he felt the pressure in his chest increase. The connection he was looking for had been found, but the spirit he was trying to summon wasn't just any spirit. It was a High Level spirit, and its form began to manifest in the shape of a fox... a fox with seven tails.

The tails appeared first, one after another, as if they were flames igniting one by one, each tail emanating a distinct aura of pure spiritual energy. The tails were long and graceful, each representing an unmistakable and growing power. The fox, with its brilliant golden fur that reflected the light of the room, appeared before Kael, floating gently in the air as if it were a creation of pure magic. Its red eyes glowed with immense intelligence, observing everyone around with a deep gaze, as though it were evaluating each of them.

It was a nine-tailed fox, a legendary spirit, a being of incomprehensible power. The high-level spirit Kael had summoned was not something any other student would dare attempt, and when the nine-tailed fox appeared, the entire room fell silent, all eyes fixed on it.

Mizuki, who had been watching with a certain amount of suspicion, was now paralyzed by the scene before her. The nine-tailed fox was no ordinary summoning. It was one of the most powerful and rare entities in the spiritual world. There was no doubt that Kael had, somehow, tapped into a power far beyond what she had imagined.

The spirit materialized fully, its imposing body and tails swirling around Kael. The fox looked at him with eyes full of respect, as if it knew exactly who he was, or more precisely, who he could become.

Kael stood still, unfazed, observing his summon with an almost supernatural calm. The presence of the nine-tailed fox was oppressive, but he did not feel intimidated. He had Umbra, and now, he had this fox.

"You... you managed to summon her..." Mizuki murmured, her eyes locked on the fox, unable to hide her surprise.

Kael did not respond immediately. Instead, he focused on the fox before him. His golden eyes glowed once again, reflecting the light emanating from the spirit. He felt the energy of the fox within him, a massive and untamable force now connected to him.

"This is a high-level spirit," Mizuki finally spoke, breaking the silence. "A nine-tailed fox. This kind of summoning... it's not something anyone would be able to do. You have a very strong connection with spiritual energy, Kael. That's... impressive."

The nine-tailed fox, hearing Mizuki's words, took a step forward, its body flowing like a living flame. Its red eyes glowed intensely, as if it were evaluating everyone present in the room. The aura it radiated seemed to dominate the entire environment, the spiritual energy around Kael pulsating with an uncontrollable force.

[You have made a special contract with a High-Level Spirit]

[Give a name to your Spirit]

[By naming it, the existence of this spirit will be bound to your own]

Kael stared deeply into the red eyes of the seven-tailed fox, feeling the connection between them grow even stronger. The name he chose now wasn't just a word, but a mark that would bind them forever. He knew the weight of this decision, knew that by naming her, he was creating an irreversible bond. But in the intensity of the moment, the answer seemed obvious.

"Ahri," Kael said firmly, the name flowing naturally from his lips. The fox, who had been watching with a tranquil dignity, glowed with a blinding brilliance as soon as the name was spoken.

The energy around them seemed to stir, and before Kael could fully process what was happening, Ahri leaped gracefully, landing softly on his shoulder. She settled there with enchanting grace, her seven tails swaying gently behind her, as if adjusting to the new position. Her presence now felt intimate, as if she had always been a part of him.

Ahri emitted a small sound of satisfaction, something between a purr and a contented sigh. She seemed truly happy, and her joy was almost palpable. Her red eyes gleamed with renewed intensity, as if Kael's name had unlocked something inside her.

"Ahri..." Kael murmured again, more to himself than to her, amazed at how the spirit adapted to his side. He could feel Ahri's energy flowing in tune with his own, as though she was already a part of him, and it wasn't just a sense of power, but one of understanding, as if the spirit knew exactly what he needed.

Ahri looked at him with a nearly mischievous smile, her tails swishing in a contented way.
