Chapter 612 17
Sitting inside the office, Sia looked at the reports on the table and recalled the information Old Madam had passed on to her.
"Her name is Sherry. She used to work as my granddaughter's secratary in the past but was fired after my granddaughter caught her red-handed. She was caught accepting bribes in my granddaughter's name. Thankfully, she was caught before she could ruin my granddaughter's reputation."
Hearing that, Sia reached for the document and looked at it but did not comment immediately. She knew the old lady had a reason for suspecting this assistant.
Seeing Sia making no haste, the old lady felt herself liking the young man even more. Placing a pen drive on the table, she said, "This pen drive contains the CCTV footage of my granddaughter's office. My granddaughter usually doesn't permit others to enter her office during her absence, except for her trusted assistant. But this secretary sneaked in with a file during my granddaughter and her assistant's absence. Her movements also looked very suspicious."
Passing another folder, she continued, "This is the secretary's bank statement. A large sum of money was transferred to her account soon after the day she sneaked in, and another sum before the bribery incident. The funds were transferred from an overseas bank account and it's quite hard to trace. I believe this proof is sufficient to show that someone has been trying to frame my granddaughter."
Taking the folder, Sia looked into the statement and nodded her head.
Clasping both hands on her walking stick, the old lady spoke coldly, "Young man, I have fulfilled my promise, and now... I hope you will fulfill yours"
Collecting all the evidence, Sia responded, "Don't worry, Old Madam. I'll definitely fulfill my part. Just wait for my news patiently."
Present...
Back in the office, Sia leaned against her chair, turning to and fro deep in thought. After some contemplation, she picked up her phone and called Stephen.
"Hello?"
"Did you get permission to interrogate that person?"
"Yeah, I just met with him. He is quite tight-lipped. No matter how badly he was pressed, he did not let out a single word. I don't think we can investigate through him," Stephen answered.
"Hmm, did you do a background check on him? Maybe you could use his family members as leverage?" Sia suggested.
"Well, that's of no use. He is an orphan and doesn't have any family," Stephen sighed.
"Oh, alright. By the way, which orphanage does he belong to?"
"Hmm...he is from an orphanage called Hope."

"Alright!"
Ending the call, Sia sighed. Noticing the stack of reports that Liam had dropped not long ago, Sia decided to go through them rather than do nothing. Who knows, maybe she could find something?
Maybe luck was really on her side, as Sia finally found a clue—a clue that helped her solve this case. Holding a report in her hand, she immediately called for HK. "Come to my office, now!"
Looking at the paper, Sia thought for a moment and finally decided to meet Reema.
Reaching the interrogation room, she looked at the lawyer, who was making calls busily, and said, "Please excuse us; I have something to speak with Ms. Reema."
Hearing that, the lawyer turned to look at Reema, who nodded her head expressionlessly. Glancing at Shien one last time, the lawyer finally left the office.
Pulling a chair, Sia leisurely took a seat. Leaning forward, she turned off the mic and said, "I have a few questions to ask you. Please answer me honestly."
A few minutes later, Sia walked out of the interrogation room coldly and issued an order. "Ms. Reema will be under our custody from now on, and no one is allowed to meet her without my permission, including her lawyer. Keep an eye on her 24/7."
"Yes, Sir."
After Sia left, the two officers exchanged glances.
"Is Ms. Reema the real culprit?"
On a high-rise building, inside a spacious office, two men with different vibes were in the middle of a conversation.
One stood in front of the table with his head bowed, looking very humble and meek, while the other stood in front of the glass window, emitting a cold and bloodthirsty aura as he looked down at the city arrogantly.
After delivering the news, the middle-aged man was excused and left the office humbly. Not long after he left, there was a knock on the door.
"May I come in, Sir?"
"Enter."
Entering the office, the secretary bowed his head respectfully and informed, "Sir, you have a meeting with XX Hospital in half an hour."
"Prepare the car."
"Yes, Sir."
Straightening his coat, he walked out of the office coldly, followed by his assistants and secretary. Just as he stepped out of the company, a sports bike suddenly zoomed in and stopped right in front of him. Startled, he took a few steps back, and his bodyguards hurriedly stepped forward to protect him.
Removing his helmet, the young man shook his hair indifferently and turned to look at the middle-aged man with a smile. Though half of his face was covered with a face mask, the curve of his eyes revealed that he was smiling.
As he watched the young man, Mr. Pie couldn't help but frown, unsure of what he was here for.
Putting down his helmet, the young man stepped down from his bike and walked toward Mr. Pie. Seeing the young man approaching their boss, the bodyguards hurriedly stepped forward to stop him.
Seeing this, the young man raised his eyebrows and said, "Mr. Pie, I am here to reveal very important news."
Hearing that, though Mr. Pie was extremely annoyed, he could not take action under the public's eyes. Raising his hand, he stopped his bodyguards from taking action and ordered, "Let him."
Hearing the order, the bodyguards quickly stepped aside, allowing the young man to walk forward.
Stopping in front of the middle-aged man, the young man suddenly raised his hand forward and greeted politely, "Hello, Mr. Pie."
Unwillingly, Mr. Pie accepted the young man's hand, but his following words shook him.
"I am Officer Shien, captain of the special police force, and... (Click) you are under arrest."
