The Absolute Godspeed of Infinite Worlds

Chapter 34: [34] He Has a Bad Mouth

On a weekend morning.

At the entrance of Hagun Academy, Eiji watched as Stella returned to the main gate, breathing lightly. He was so shocked that he forgot to close his mouth.

"...What kind of monster are you, Stella?"

His expression could almost be described as dumbfounded, even jealous.

The reason was simple.

After several days of training, Stella had completely caught up with Ikki's training routine. Running 20 kilometers every morning now only left her slightly out of breath. The exhaustion that had rivaled Eiji's just a few days ago was now gone.

In other words, in just a few short days, Stella's physical stamina had improved dramatically.

Although Eiji's stamina was also steadily improving, the rate of his progress was nowhere near Stella's. If measured by levels, his stamina was still not at D-rank.

Is this normal?

If anyone said this was normal, Eiji would chop their head off!

It's just ridiculous!

What kind of monster is Stella Vermillion? How could she improve her physical stamina so much faster than him, a guy? And she was already at B-Rank stamina to begin with!

Shouldn't stamina become harder to improve the higher you go? Why does it seem as easy as eating and drinking for her? Is the gap between people really this big?

"It's quite rude to call a girl a monster, Eiji."

Stella rolled her eyes at Eiji, took the drink Ikki handed her, hesitated for a moment, and then reluctantly unscrewed the cap and drank from the bottle.

Damn it, because of that one comment he made the other day, she still hasn't managed to have an indirect kiss with Ikki!

"Well, don't take it too hard. Stella is a genius, after all."

Seeing how shaken Eiji was, Ikki tried to comfort him.

Stella's stamina was indeed strange.

Just a few days ago, she was much weaker than him, but now she had closed the gap.

Moreover, she ate seven to eight times more food than an average person at every meal, and her wrist strength was terrifyingly strong, to the point where Ikki didn't dare to arm-wrestle her casually.

It just goes to show that she truly is a once-in-a-decade genius, the holder of the world's strongest magical power. Normal common sense simply doesn't apply to her.

Come to think of it, Eiji vaguely remembered that Stella had some hidden setting that made her incredibly powerful later on. Maybe her rapid stamina improvement was related to that... but he couldn't recall the details.

Brain, how could you fail me like this!

Eiji scolded his brain in his mind, leaving it too ashamed to respond.

Body, you too, how could you be so lazy!

His body also remained silent, seemingly too embarrassed to speak.

Ding ling—!

Just as they were talking, Ikki's student handbook, which was placed nearby, suddenly lit up with a notification sound.

"It's a message from Shizuku. She's asking me to hang out today."

Ikki checked the message, a happy smile appearing on his face, and then he started typing a reply.

"Shizuku? Who's that?"

Eiji tilted his head, looking confused.

"Ikki's little sister, the second-ranked freshman this year."

Stella's expression suddenly turned sour, as if she had a deep dislike for the girl named Shizuku.

Now that he thought about it, on the first day of school, Ikki had mentioned that his sister would also be enrolling at Hagun Academy.

By the way, Stella was the top-ranked freshman this year, while Eiji's rank was somewhere beyond 100th place—this ranking was entirely based on level, without considering any actual combat achievements.

"On the first day of school, she rushed into our classroom and hugged Ikki in front of everyone. Damn it, I haven't even... ahem!"

"Isn't that weird?!"

Princess Stella was clearly furious about this.

From Eiji's perspective, her anger was likely due to not being able to claim Ikki's first kiss.

"Ahaha... that was just an accident. Shizuku already apologized yesterday. She was just a bit excited after not seeing me for so many years."

Ikki put down his student handbook and awkwardly tried to soothe Stella.

He was also feeling a bit embarrassed. On the first day of school, he had to admit, he had been momentarily captivated and had unconsciously responded... which led to Stella calling him a pervert for several days straight.

"I don't believe her apology at all. It was just a compromise to make you let your guard down. Ikki, you need to be careful. Shizuku is definitely going to launch a full-on attack!"

Stella was extremely wary of Shizuku and kept trying to drill her thoughts into Ikki, who could only smile wryly.

"Such an interesting thing happened, and I didn't know about it?"

Eiji spoke up in surprise, his face filled with regret for not being there at the time.

"You left with Kusakabe, remember? Shizuku came to our classroom after that."

Ikki explained honestly, "Later, Stella even fought with Shizuku and destroyed half the classroom. The Director suspended her for a week... Also, I don't think it was interesting at all."

No wonder Stella had been absent for the past week. It turned out she had been suspended by Kurono Shinguuji for summoning her device without permission and causing a scene.

Eiji nodded in understanding, his expression growing even more regretful.

Such an exciting event as a girl fight, and I wasn't there to see it?

"By the way, Stella, Eiji, do you two want to come along?"

Ikki suddenly remembered something and invited his two friends, "Shizuku said she might bring some people too, so I thought it'd be more fun with more people. What do you think? Want to come?"

"Is Stella coming?"

Eiji's eyes lit up, and he subtly glanced at Stella.

"Of course I... no, I just remembered I have something urgent to do, so I won't be going."

Out of her competitive spirit toward Shizuku, Stella instinctively wanted to agree.

But then she noticed the overly kind smile on Eiji's face and immediately shut her mouth. Her eyes rolled as she put on a regretful expression.

What? She's not going?

Then there won't be any girl fight?

How boring.

"Then I won't go either."

Eiji lost interest and casually waved his hand.

"Alright."

Ikki was puzzled but didn't push the matter.

The three of them packed up their things and soon left the school gate, heading toward their respective dormitories.

The seventh dormitory, where Eiji and his senior sister lived, was on the west side of the academy, while the first dormitory, where Ikki and Stella lived, was on the east side. After entering the school, Eiji quickly parted ways with the two.

"Ikki, I just remembered that my urgent matter is already taken care of. I'll go with you after all!"

Seeing that Eiji was already far away, Stella quickly changed her mind and shot Ikki a determined look, as if she was ready to face some kind of challenge.

In just a few short days, she had already seen through Eiji's true nature.

He was indeed a handsome young man, probably the most good-looking person in the world.

Too bad he has a bad mouth.
