Chapter 67: Defeating Kenpachi (67)
Kenpachi rushed toward Sora, swinging his blade wildly, aiming to cut Sora down where he stood.
Sora, on the other hand, felt weirdly calm.
He raised his hand and pointed it toward Kenpachi.
In mere seconds, the Reishi around him condensed around his hand.
He then began blasting it out at Kenpachi.
The madman proceeded to slice all the bullets coming his way with one swing of his jagged blade.
Before pouncing on Sora, he felt like he was just prey that Kenpachi wanted to devour.
As Kenpachi reached Sora, Sora used Blut Arterie alongside Hirenkyaku in order to utterly speed blitz Kenpachi.
Forming his gun, he gazed at Kenpachi before releasing a powerful blast of dense Reishi.
"Spektralsturm."
As those words left his mouth, the Reishi bullet from his gun shot out toward Kenpachi at an inhuman level of speed.
Kenpachi instinctively aimed to slash the bullet like he always did; however, something he didn't expect happened.
His sword went through the bullet as if it were just a ghost—as if it never really existed.
Before his shock could leave his body, a bullet hole appeared on Kenpachi's chest...
.....
When people are hit by something they cannot understand, they are usually shocked and stunned for a bit.
So why in the fuck was this walking embodiment of Black Air Force energy just excited?
Oh... yeah, this was Kenpachi.
He watched as the man staggered backward from the attack, blood trickling down the bullet hole in his chest.
The hole only went about four inches deep, not enough for the great Kenpachi to falter.
"That's new," the man said, his voice laced with excitement.
"I like it."
"Show me more of your pesky tricks."
"Usually, people call it unfair. You seem excited," Sora added calmly.
Kenpachi just grinned like the demon he was.
Of course, of course, the fade demon liked this.
The man's Reiatsu flared again. Sora's brow furrowed.
Was it just him, or did it feel like Kenpachi was getting stronger—way stronger than he should be?
"Fair? Who the hell said I wanted fair? Just don't make it boring!"
Huh... so he just cared about running a fade... Yeah, that's fair.
Sora composed himself. His Spektralsturm was no ordinary bullet—it represented advanced Quincy mastery and precision.
He had learned to make this move after observing how Hollows, Plus Souls, and Shinigami could phase through things in the human world.
He spent quite some time studying it.
The bullet was made purely of ambient Reishi—none, and I mean none, of Sora's Reiryoku was imbued into it.
Not even a sliver of it.
The bullet wasn't solid; instead, it was an ethereal construct made of condensed Reishi. This design allowed it to phase through physical obstacles—or any obstacles in general.
By tuning its frequency to match the spiritual composition of the target's surroundings, Sora ensured that the bullet would bypass anything tangible, including Kenpachi's Zanpakuto.
Before firing, Sora subtly tapped into Kenpachi's Reiatsu, as particles of it lingered in the air after their clash. These traces provided Sora with the blueprint he needed to synchronize the bullet with Kenpachi's spiritual wavelength, enabling it to home in on him with deadly precision.
TL;DR: This bullet ignores defense and is considered a ghost or non-existent until it makes contact with Kenpachi. It's basically a sure-hit attack—it never misses and only truly 'spawns' when it makes contact with Kenpachi.
And because the bullet is imbued with Kenpachi's Reiatsu, it will always follow that Reiatsu trace—because, technically, it's Kenpachi's own Reiatsu trying to return to its owner. And since that's the case, a lot of math and science bullshit makes the attack unblockable once Sora fires it.
The bad thing about it, though, is that Sora has to get a hold of the target's Reiatsu. Should be easy since, in a fight, that shit just comes pouring out of their body.
And since Sora made sure to contain his own Reiatsu in his body, he wouldn't accidentally take his own Reiatsu and shoot himself in the foot.
Shit would have been tragic.
Anyway, as he began shooting at Kenpachi, the man didn't even bother blocking anymore—he just rushed toward Sora.
Swinging his blade like a madman.
Sora countered with Blut Vene, and then instantly switched to Blut Arterie, punching Kenpachi with so much force that the man puked blood.
Sora was fighting Kenny using only his innate Quincy abilities—no Shrift, no adaptation, just the basic shit a Quincy could do.
And even without his Shrift, he was not weak by any means of the imagination. He was, in fact, quite capable. Using nothing but the basics like Blut Vene and Blut Arterie, Sora managed to beat Kenpachi.
Looking at the body of the defeated Kenpachi beneath him, Sora wondered if this was over.
As he turned his back on Kenpachi, ready to walk away—
He felt it.
Spiritual pressure like never before.
Kenpachi stood up, his body filled with wounds. The man looked at Sora, fire burning in his eyes.
"The fight hasn't ended yet."
As those words left his mouth, an insane amount of Reiatsu leaked out of his body.
Sora looked a bit amazed. Kenpachi was strong... however, he was no threat to Sora. Even in his base state, he could take him.
"You are strong... not strong enough," Sora muttered.
Without using Hirenkyaku, nor Blut Arterie, Sora speed-blitzed Kenpachi, chopping the man at the back of his nape in order to knock him out.
Sora glanced at his hand... then at Kenpachi...
The light cut on Sora's hand told him all he needed to know about Kenpachi...
This man was dangerous and could grow to be a real monster.
To that, Sora grinned.
The more, the merrier.
Getting close to Kenny, he planned to heal him... however, he remembered he was still in Soul Society, and showing all of his cards like this wouldn't be fun.
And thus, he scrapped that idea.
Using his dominion over Reishi, he simply stopped the man's bleeding—and that was about it. By creating a bandage... yeah, that fit what Soul Society knew he could do.
Shunsui should be aware that he was creating a system, but from what he had shown Shunsui, the system was like in version 0.0.1—so it was no threat.
If he judged Shunsui's character right, he'd guess something like 10 or 20 years for Sora to perfect it.
Little did the man know...
Sora had a cheat code.
His Shrift.
A/N....Just today realised it was actually Blut Vene, instead of Blut Vein, well from now on, I shall call it the correct name, I will not be going back to rewrite it.
For anyone wondering, Sora Reiatsu is silver in color, it was originally yellow, so I don't think I need to explain what happened to make it now silver.
