Chapter 88: Rukia, let's have fun(88)
Sora was disappointed in his dad and brother.
"What part of me screams that I would be tempted by worldly things?" Sora said, acting like he had been wronged.
Uryu gazed at his brother... then his eyes went toward Sora winning at the casino... then back at Sora.
He did know that he went out gambling... didn't he?
"Anyway, Dad, I made 100 million yen," Sora added, handing the check over to Ryuken, who just raised an eyebrow.
"You went gambling," the man's voice sounded cold... oh, shit.
"I mean, yeah, me and Uryu wen—" before he could finish his sentence, Uryu's voice could be heard saying:
"Do not drag me into this, and if we're being clear, I told you it was a bad idea."
"Gambling is reckless and irresponsible," Ryuken added, looking at Sora.
"Is it really gambling if you know the outcome?" Sora asked with a smile.
"Yes, because luck is still a factor, no matter how much you delude yourself," Ryuken stated calmly.
"Technically, it wasn't gambling. I was just using my skills strategically." He was acting all-important right now.
"And what skills would those be?" Ryuken inquired.
"Future sight and probability manipulation..."
"....."
"Well, you see, in my defense, ever since this black thing fused with my arms, those powers just awakened. Seems like my body adapted in order to better control it, and such a change in my body caused this..."
"And you chose to gamble."
"Yes..."
"Why..."
"I needed the extra cash. Trying to get Rukia that extra-large plushie, and the nine-to-five ain't doing enough."
"..."
Anyway, Sora had to clean the bathroom using a toothbrush... he used Uryu's toothbrush... such a shame Uryu was ready for his shenanigans and had brought an extra toothbrush alongside extra toothpaste just for this occasion.
About a day passed after the incident. He did go back to Kisuke and gave him his cut. The man offered him a simple, "Pleasure doing business with you," and a work card—to ask for his service anytime.
...That was his boss, by the way.
Sora had a sneaking suspicion that Urahara was going to pay him using the money he won.
Even after giving Urahara like 25 million yen, he still had around 75 million yen to himself... Surprisingly, his father let him keep the vast majority of the cash.
Anyway, he was able to buy the limited-edition, ultra-large plushie.
The plushie was huge—it reached up to his chest... about Rukia's height, give or take.
Once Rukia visited again, he surprised her with the plushie.
"Do you like it?" Sora asked... and she was already snuggling it.
"So cute..."
Oh yeah, he forgot—she was a plushie fanatic. Well, not like he could stop her.
"Thanks," she said happily.
"You look happier," he said calmly.
"The Gotei 13 is getting ready for a possible war," she said calmly.
He raised an eyebrow, to which she just said,
"I don't know."
Okay... so they weren't telling her as much information as other Shinigami should get... that was his hunch. He wondered what kind of sore asshole did something like that.
Well, he didn't care.
Pulling her close to himself, he asked,
"You're tired, aren't you?"
"Hollows have been appearing a lot more in Soul Society... especially in the Rukongai," she said, relaxing into his touch.
"How did you manage to come to the human world if Soul Society is so busy?"
"Captain Ukitake permitted my leave..." Her eyes seemed to glow for a second before she realized something.
"He wanted me to tell you that he was grateful for your help in healing his lungs."
Sora's eyebrow rose... he only started the healing... what?
"Is he fully healed?"
"About a week or two after your treatment, he began feeling better," Rukia explained.
Sora couldn't help but remember that this was around the time that he started to adapt to that black thing.
He only had one way to check—next time he visited Soul Society... he had to make sure the old man would be busy during that time, not trying to get beat.
He would check on Ukitake to see if he was okay.
Giving her neck a hickey, which got a moan from her... Ransot-... don't question it.
"Well, at least now you're here, so no more stressing about Soul Society's current state," he said calmly.
"Though I am all ears if you want to talk about how your day was."
He had an innocent smile on his face the whole time.
A gentle, warm smile.
Eventually, she had to change clothing as, you know, she was still in her Shinigami outfit.
Sora's eyes lazily drifted over to Rukia, and for a moment, he swore time slowed to a crawl.
The first thing that hit him was the contrast—the oversized black t-shirt clinging just enough to her petite frame before stopping short, leaving the rest of her toned, glistening figure on full display. His gaze trailed downward, drinking in the sharp dip of her waist, the smooth curve of her hips, and the way the minimal fabric of her bikini-style underwear barely covered what it was supposed to.
He would never admit it out loud, but damn... she looked good.
The slight pout on her lips, the subtle furrow of her brows—it was the kind of expression that made her look annoyed but also painfully cute. But then there was the stance, the way she stood with that quiet, unwavering confidence, like she knew exactly the effect she had but refused to acknowledge it.
Sora swallowed, forcing himself to lean back as if that would put some much-needed distance between him and his thoughts.
"...My eyes are up here," she said upon noticing his gaze.
"You and I both know I wasn't looking for your eyes."
A/N...Notice how Sora hides nothing from Ryuken or people he really trusts...for anyone saying why... that is his dad.
Now that I mention that Sora, Ryuken, and Aizen do look alike, it is a fun coincidence.
As for how he gained these power simply he #### ######### ####### #### ### #### ######
I'm not going to lie, it's been a solid month since I wrote this chapter...yes, I was that far ahead, at some point I was even 80 chapters ahead...anyway, I forgot what was in the tags, all I remember is the fact that the tags in fact represent a letter, so if it has 4 tags it's a 4-letter word, and so on.
It roughly related to either the soul king or the Hogyoku.
