The Apocalyptic Command: A Military Isekai LitRPG

Chapter 52: Cloning Facility

With a breath of fresh air, Quagmire looked over his shoulder and saw that the sun had long reached its highest peak and was now on a downward movement. Which means the day is closing soon. He stopped tapping and clicking the buttons in front of him and glanced over the finished holographic models, and with a satisfied smile, he stood up from a chair. He does not remember where he got it from.

He was working at the facility for more than half a day, so he must have had it made from the automated bots. This would probably take a while as he already had a stockpile of various resources, such as stones. Critical manufacturing resources like tungsten, chromium, and manganese and common resources such as iron and nickel to be stockpiled in massive numbers are still being done before mass production.

Right now concurrently, more droids are being manufactured and expedited so that the gathering of resources could be hastened and to allow production and expansion to start sooner. After all, right now, this entire base is being defended only by one person. If ghouls do or did not really have intelligence and wisdom like humans do, then that would be really problematic for him.

He might have the mightiest weapon in the world, but he can't shoot in every direction, and he does not have infinite stamina or ammunition; he might have the adjutant system, but he could also not infinitely rely on it. Rather, the system is more transactional, and there's a possibility of running out of ammunition, before getting sufficient gold to replenish the stockpiles.

Such a big problem, thus Quagmire decided to push it at the back of his mind, to be taken care of later. Unfortunately, despite his wishes, as he was pushing back the thoughts, something popped up. It was a piece of information delivered straight from his subconscious, as to how it was done. He does not know.

With those thoughts swirling around his mind, he glanced from left to right, trying to see if he was forgetting something as he was about to leave. Upon confirmation, he closed the control panel in front of him and walked out of the street outside. By this time, the stone path was now hard concrete; as to how it dried so fast, it did not, as it only is allowed to be walked over by people of not so significant weight. Furthermore, large vehicles are outright banned until the time it is completely dried so that they can better support it.

Right now, it is like a hard mush; it might be hard, but it is still a mush. No matter what happens, it is still a mush; it might feel different from the rest, but then again, it is still a mush.

Quagmire walked over the concrete, which now had a shade of light gray compared to earlier dark grey. He strode with quick and precise steps, and when needed, he turned a corner and arrived at the cloning facility.

The cloning facility and the manufacturing facility concurrently look the same as the way it was made as of this time, the required materials were replaced with other materials. So that he could begin using it as soon as possible. Unfortunately, when it is time to upgrade to its proper form, its operation will have to be paused.

With admiration and delight, Quagmire entered the facility. Immediately upon entering, he saw the room glow in bright blue, and in front of him lay tens, if not dozens upon dozens of pods with some kind of bluish liquid inside them. Confused about the source of this, he brought the panel from his system.

[The bluish liquid source is the power itself that is flowing from the Central Power Beacon, it is a source of energy and at the same time with the right materials and source, it can also be used as a basis for the creation of life itself.] The adjutant replied monotonously.

Upon hearing the explanation, Quagmire, with shock evident from his body and movements, stepped back nervously. The thought of playing god made his heart waver. Fortunately, it did not go further, he must have been given permission or such a thing is common or even allowed. He must not let past prejudice affect his views of this world that currently wants to kill him.

What he knew of the past must be thrown out, except for humanity, after all, it is humanity that made him this way, to throw it away, is like throwing away his entire existence in this world where he is the only one that is human.

Not only that, the fact that he met that goddess or what he thought it was, and gave him another chance, would she give him this power if it is to be condemned? No, it was given for him to use it, and so he will use it its fullest.

Moreover, despite the humans that would come out of the pods would have the same DNA as him, that does not mean they would think and react the same as him. These people would be themselves, new individuals with a fresh perspective. He is nothing more but a father to them, which is why he would need to guide them on the correct path. The correct path for humanity and its future endeavors.

This time, with a firm confidence and will, he reversed his back step, and moved it forward this time. With belief and hope, he opened the panel of the entire facility and started browsing. He browsed from left to right, sometimes taking longer and slower to read things out, as he did not want to leave out information that could possibly be useful to him in the long term and for his future endeavors in this cloning facility.

With the clicking and clacking continuing in the background, time passed by, and when he was done reviewing the materials in front of him, he stood up from the seat he fell onto while studying the text religiously earlier.

"All right, let us do this!" Quagmire, with a confident smile, said.
