Chapter 380: The Holiday Arrives
At first, Colin thought that the knight Erwin had summoned was just an ordinary one, but when the Palace guard respectfully greeted him with, "Prince Serass," he suddenly realized—
The ordinary White Tower Guard Knight in front of him was actually a member of the Roon Royal Family!
"Mr. Colin, we have arrived at the library."
Serass led him smoothly to the Black Tower Library deep within the Palace.
However, even Serass needed to produce Erwin's written order to gain entry.
From the outside, the Black Tower Library was just an ordinary three-story black spire, but once inside, Colin discovered its hidden secrets.
Perhaps as a means of defense, after crossing the gray-black tower gate, Colin's vision blurred, and the wall in front of him turned into a brown bookshelf. Looking around, everything was shrouded in darkness.
Unbeknownst to him, they had arrived in a separate small room.
The Black Tower Library entrance concealed a transportive secret.
Colin felt somewhat startled; as a Second Rank Wizard, he was caught off guard by such transportation... The depth of the Roon Royal Family seemed greater than he had imagined!
At least, this seemingly ordinary Black Tower Library was far more prestigious than its exterior suggested.
"Mr. Colin, this bookshelf contains all the collected Knight Breathing Methods of the Royal Family."
Serass, seemingly accustomed to such changes, naturally pointed to the bookshelf in front of him and continued,
"Also, we cannot stay long in the Black Tower Library. The token given by Uncle Grandfather Erwin allows us to stay here for about two hours.
Thus, I suggest that it is best for you to first choose the appropriate Knight Breathing Method and then take copies with you for detailed study when leaving."
'Uncle Grandfather?' Colin sharply caught the key term in Serass's words.
'Erwin is Serass's uncle grandfather? Does that not mean Erwin is also a member of the Roon Royal Family?'
After some thought, Colin wasn't too surprised; Erwin could lead them, the School Wizards, and if he wasn't a School Wizard himself, then he would have to be a Royal Wizard.
After all, a Second Rank Advanced Wizard, if lacking strong backing, would absolutely not be able to hold such a position.
"Mr. Colin?" Seeing that he wasn't responding, Serass hesitantly spoke up again, "We only have two hours."
"Two hours will be enough." Recovering his thoughts, Colin smiled at Serass and said, "Could you please make copies of all these Knight Breathing Methods for me?"
Serass was momentarily taken aback.
…
Ten minutes later, Colin left the Roon Palace.
It was late outside, and the last glimmer of the setting sun cast an orange glow over the city's buildings.
Feeling the full harvest in his Storage Ring, Colin was in high spirits.
The small benefit mentioned by Wizard Erwin was a vast surprise for him!
Over a hundred Knight Breathing Methods... Colin's smile had not faded since he came out of the Black Tower Library!
He quickly flew back home, hastily had dinner, and then plunged into the preserved research area of the Silver Chamber's basement.
Now that his Wizard rank had reached Second Rank, and his Knight cultivation was merely at First Rank Intermediate, the disparity between them was stark.
Moreover, his Wizard training had reached a plateau, and it was all about the slow grind. As for advancing in witchcraft, he needed to continue increasing his Elemental Net, but staying in Golden Barley, he couldn't find a way to acquire the Flame Talent anytime soon.
Thus, Colin had been planning his next steps, starting with catching up on his somewhat neglected Knight cultivation.
He had intended to ask Welber in the next few days for good methods, or perhaps wait for a holiday period when he might go to buy some Knight Breathing Methods.
But unexpectedly, without any effort on his part, he had so easily completed the first step—collecting Knight Breathing Methods.
And the number he collected was far greater than he had initially hoped!
It was truly an unexpected blessing!
In the Silver Chamber, Colin, with a smile on his face, took out the over one hundred Knight Breathing Methods, piled them on a wooden table beside him, and began to read them one by one.
As night fell and the moon climbed the branches, Colin gradually realized a bothersome yet blissful problem—
The sheer number of Knight Breathing Methods was overwhelming!
Just taking the time to carefully go through each one could easily consume at least half a month.
But no matter, Colin gently exhaled, as he lacked neither time nor patience.
…
The following day, in the evening.
A luxurious hall was hosting a small banquet.
"Roon Kingdom's stationed Wizards, aside from those dozen or so born into or affiliated with the Royal Family as Official Wizards, the rest are all from the School Wizards of Neustadt City."
At the entrance, Welber, walking in with Colin, scanned the area and, pausing, continued speaking to Colin:
"Those over there are Carmen and Wooli; I have a good relationship with them, and like us, they are from affiliate schools of the Yista School, only they are from Silver Ring."
"Good evening, Welber!"
As Welber was speaking, the two Wizards from Silver Ring also spotted them, their eyes lighting up as they came smilingly forward.
Carmen, a middle-aged Male Wizard with a square face and an uncommon golden buzz cut, emphasized his angular nature.
Wooli, by comparison, was unremarkable, his brown medium-length hair and facial features of the sort that would blend into a crowd and disappear, the only possibly distinctive trait being a subtly emanating gloomy aura.
