Chapter 4: shopping
"I'm in so much pain..."
"Endure it!" Mu Tianyang pushed her and walked towards the dining room.
Wan Qing staggered for a moment, then, upon seeing his movement clearly, shouted, "I don't want to eat anymore!"
"What did you say?" Mu Tianyang raised his eyebrow dangerously.
She grabbed him, pleading, "Please, let's go! I don't want to go in! I don't want to go in..." If Xue Lina sees them together, wouldn't her reputation be sealed as someone who sold herself? Even if she really did sell herself, she didn't want Xue Lina to know; she couldn't bear her mockery and ridicule!
Mu Tianyang glanced into the dining room, but couldn't see the Ding family. Because Xue Lina was afraid her husband might care about Wan Qing, she had purposely chosen a corner spot where they couldn't see the street, and the street couldn't see them.
"Alright… I'll let it go since you're hurt," Mu Tianyang said.
He first took her to the hospital. After an examination, they discovered that her bones had nearly been crushed. When Mu Tianyang heard this, a cold smile appeared on his lips. Ding Caiyan, I didn't even step on you, and you dared to do this!
After treating her wound, the two left the emergency room. Wan Qing gazed at the inpatient department, reluctant to leave. This was the hospital where her mother was staying, and her mother was just upstairs. She really wanted to go see her...
Mu Tianyang saw through her thoughts and, in a tone of mock kindness, said, "You can go up and take a look. I'll give you five minutes."
Wan Qing froze for a moment, then shook her head. "It's better not to. If my mom wakes up and sees me like this, she'll worry."
Mu Tianyang frowned and turned to leave. "If you don't want to, then don't ever let me see that expression on your face again!"
Wan Qing was startled and hurried to catch up, holding her bandaged hand.
Mu Tianyang didn't stop by the restaurant again; instead, they went straight home.
The lights were on in the villa, which made Wan Qing curious. She remembered that no one else had been there when she left earlier. Could it be that his family was there?
As they walked into the villa, a plain-dressed middle-aged woman came toward them. She said to Mu Tianyang, "Sir, you're back? I'm Zhang Meifeng…"
"I know," Mu Tianyang waved his hand. "Go make two portions of dinner."
"Yes," Zhang Meifeng immediately turned and walked towards the kitchen.
Mu Tianyang sat on the couch and said to Wan Qing, "She's the new housekeeper. From now on, your meals will be taken care of by her. Starting tomorrow, bodyguards Ah Cheng and Ah Hua will take turns following you. If you need to go out, call them to drive you. If you want anything, just ask them to buy it for you."
He paused and thought for a moment, then looked at her thoughtfully. "I don't think you need to go out, do you? It seems like you don't have anywhere to go. So, it's better to stay at home!"
"But my mom—"
"Go to the bathroom and run a bath for me," he interrupted her.
Wan Qing froze, slightly unable to react.
He raised an eyebrow. "Didn't you hear me?"
"Heard it..." Wan Qing muttered, turning to go upstairs. She returned to the room filled with nightmares according to her memory and entered the bathroom...
She could only use one hand to turn on the faucet, tested the water temperature, and then froze, watching the water fill the bathtub.
A sound came from behind her, and she jumped in surprise. Turning around, she saw Mu Tianyang walking in.
Mu Tianyang lazily rubbed his neck and unbuttoned his shirt.
Wan Qing said, "I... I'll go out first."
Mu Tianyang hooked her waist with one arm and pulled her into his embrace. "Let's wash together! You have one hand injured, I'll help you."
"No need," Wan Qing screamed, "I'll go help with the cooking."
"Cooking is the housekeeper's job!" He pushed her against the wall, his knee between her legs. "Here, you're the mistress, no need to do those things! As my woman, I can support you!"
His woman...
Wan Qing felt that term sounded harsh, almost as if... she had lost all personal freedom. She nervously looked at him. "I... I'll go out first... I don't want to trouble you."
"I'm not afraid of trouble." He said, raising his hand to unbutton the clasp on her chest.
Wan Qing grabbed his arm with her uninjured hand, trying to stop him. But it was useless. Her little strength was no match for him. He didn't even need to push her aside, easily undoing her clothes.
Looking at the bruises still visible on her body, he recalled the passionate night before, and his lower body began to stir.
He moved closer, letting her feel his sudden arousal, kissing her while asking, "Does it still hurt?"
Such a question embarrassed Wan Qing, and she buried her head deeply into her shoulder.
Mu Tianyang lifted her skirt and removed her panties. She trembled in fear, not knowing what he was going to do. Suddenly, with no foreplay, he entered her.
"Ah!" Wan Qing screamed, her uninjured hand gripping his shoulder tightly, while her injured hand hung limply by her side.
"Next time I tell you to do something, be obedient." Mu Tianyang began moving. "If you obey... it won't hurt..."
"Wu wu wu..." Wan Qing cried from the pain, helplessly enduring as he did as he pleased.
The next morning, Mu Tianyang took Wan Qing to the mall, with bodyguards Ah Cheng and Ah Hua following behind them.
"This one, this one... and this one!" Mu Tianyang pointed to a pile of clothes, saying to Wan Qing, "Go try them on!"
Wan Qing froze for a moment, then followed the store assistant into the fitting room. After changing into one outfit, she came out and saw him sitting to the side reading a newspaper. She cautiously walked over and asked, "Is it okay?"
Mu Tianyang didn't look up, "Change!"
Wan Qing returned to the fitting room and changed into another outfit.
"Next!"
The third one...
"Change!"
The fourth one...
"Change again!"
He didn't even look at her, and Wan Qing felt uneasy, unsure of what he wanted. The store assistant was also anxious, not knowing what kind of clothes would meet his approval...
In the end, Mu Tianyang grew tired of speaking. Wan Qing didn't dare ask again and just kept changing, trying on clothes until she became exhausted...
"Mr. Mu..." The sales assistant came over to him, trembling, and asked, "Are we done trying them on?"
Mu Tianyang looked up from his newspaper. "Have you tried on everything?"
"Yes!"
"Wrap up all the ones that fit!" He put down his newspaper. "Don't pack them wrong. If I find even one that doesn't fit, watch out for your job!"
"Yes!" The sales assistant replied loudly, quickly going to pack the clothes.
Mu Tianyang stood up, waved Wan Qing over to his side, and brushed her hair. "Tired?"
Wan Qing opened her mouth, intending to say yes, but then realized that wouldn't be right and immediately shook her head.
"Good." He clearly liked her answer, pulling her into an embrace as they walked out. He told the sales assistant, "Pack the clothes along with the bill and have them sent to my home!"
Then, he took Wan Qing to the shoe department and made her try on dozens of pairs of shoes all at once.
Wan Qing didn't want this kind of favor, but she didn't dare refuse. If she resisted him again, she didn't know what the consequences would be. If she could make him happy spending money, maybe she'd suffer less...
After leaving the shoe store, Mu Tianyang held her close, whispering in her ear, "Now, we're going to buy you some jewelry. Cosmetics, underwear, and anything else you need, you can buy in the afternoon..."
When she heard the word "underwear," Wan Qing's face turned red.
"Buy the pretty ones," he said. "When you take off your clothes, I want a surprise. Buy more. If you don't get at least twenty sets, you can figure it out yourself!"
"...I understand."
He was satisfied and gave her a quick kiss on the cheek before taking her to the jewelry store.
It was the first time she had seen so much jewelry. Her mother had originally owned two valuable pieces, which she took from the Ding family during the divorce, but they were sold to pay for medical treatment. Ding Caiyan would buy jewelry every holiday or on a whim. If she hadn't left the Ding family, she would have been living a life of luxury, surrounded by jewels, as a young lady in fine clothes.
"What are you thinking?" Mu Tianyang asked, his voice near her ear.
"I think these earrings are really sparkly..."
"Of course, jewelry is supposed to sparkle."
"Mm... I'll take these." Wan Qing picked up a pair of earrings, but then suddenly felt confused. When would she wear them? Didn't he forbid her from going out? Was she supposed to just dress up at home every day and wait for him to come back and look at her?
Suddenly, Mu Tianyang's phone rang. He took it out, frowned, and answered, "Hello?"
"Mr. Mu," a voice on the other end said, "The patient in bed 24 has woken up. Please ask her daughter again."
"She's usually not here. What did you say to her?"
"Uh... She woke up last night, and we've asked her several times already, so..."
"Got it." Mu Tianyang hung up the phone.
Wan Qing hadn't heard what was said on the other end and was staring at the necklace in the mirror.
"Is it okay?" she asked Mu Tianyang.
"It's fine." Mu Tianyang told the sales assistant, "Just these, and the bill."
