The Delicate Female Lead Only Wants to be Loved by the Villainous Young Ladies

chapter 250 - Following the Pure Land

The magic circle, activated by the combined power of the True Ancestors, shimmered, a scarlet gateway to the Blood Secret Realm opening before them. Stepping through meant officially entering the Blood Trial. Many young vampires buzzed with anticipation, eager to prove themselves, to earn points, to claim the True Ancestors’ rewards and the coveted Blood Essence that promised to enhance their power and bloodline.
“Don’t be nervous, Adele,” Hermione whispered, her hand finding Adele’s. “Just follow the plan.”
“I-I’m not nervous,” Adele retorted, taking a deep breath, not wanting to appear weak or in need of protection, even though their plan revolved around precisely that. They had agreed to prioritize finding each other and forming a team, putting aside their competition for points and resources until they were united. Adele’s safety was paramount. If all went well, if Adele was lucky enough to be randomly placed near Dorothy, Hermione, or any of her allies, then this Blood Trial might have a surprising outcome: Adele, shielded by her powerful protectors, effortlessly accumulating points while they eliminated the competition, paving her way to victory. The worst-case scenario, however, was Adele being eliminated early on, alone and vulnerable. That… can’t happen!

Hermione’s reminder was a reassurance, a gentle nudge to stick to their strategy: survive until you find your allies.
Adele, touched by their concern, muttered, “I’ll make you all proud, meow…” She felt stronger than ever, fueled by the magic she had absorbed from First Snow and… other activities, and nourished by Dorothy’s potent blood, a sacrifice the princess had willingly made before the trial. Unless she encountered a particularly strong Sequence One, or a group of them, Adele was confident in her ability to hold her own, at least against those below her rank. I’m invincible below Sequence One, she thought. And against Sequence Ones… well, I’ll at least try to take one down with me!
“I’ll go first, Adele,” Hermione said, giving Adele a quick hug, her nose brushing against Adele’s hair, inhaling her scent. “Good luck.”

“You too… wait for me,” Adele replied, a hint of longing in her voice. If it weren’t for the True Ancestors watching, Hermione would have kissed her.
The participants entered the Secret Realm in order of Sequence, from highest to lowest, Adele among the last. She watched as the other young vampires stepped through the glowing gateway, one by one. The Blood Secret Realm was vast, its depths unexplored, so there was little risk of encountering enemies immediately upon entry, though the possibility wasn’t zero.
Adele wasn’t a fan of battle royale games, preferring the more structured environment of lane-based combat. But this trial was essentially a large-scale free-for-all. The goal was simple: survive. She wasn’t good at open combat, preferring to avoid direct confrontation, but she was a master of hiding and observing.

Dorothy, as expected, was the first to enter, the hopes of the entire vampire race resting on her shoulders. Though many doubted she could ever replicate the glory of her ancestor, the Black Emperor, Adele, as a transmigrator, knew better. In the later part of the story, humans and vampires would clash, and Dorothy, along with Adele, would rise as powerful leaders on opposing sides, their conflict a tragic tale of love and loss. But Adele’s current reality was far removed from the original story’s tragic trajectory. She had single-handedly transformed it into a sweet love story, a tale of a vampire princess falling for her.
As for whether the conflict between humans and vampires would still unfold as in the original story…
That wasn’t Adele’s concern right now.

Her priority was survival in this Blood Trial.
The Secret Realm was a paradise, but it also held dangers – harsh weather, treacherous terrain, and powerful monsters. Those with wilderness survival experience had a clear advantage. But vampires, with their enhanced resilience, could endure even days of hardship without much difficulty.
Following Dorothy, Kaiser, Hermione, and the other familiar Sequence Ones entered, along with Edith and the black and white twins. Wen Xi, the girl who had humiliated Wofoo, was also among them, her seductive attire a stark contrast to her youthful face.

Then came Sharon, her demeanor more reserved, almost blending in with the Sequence Twos.
And surprisingly, Wofoo was also among the Sequence Twos, just behind Celeste in the order of entry. This suggested that her strength might be comparable to Celeste’s. But considering her werewolf heritage, her true potential might be even greater. This ranking, however, angered the vampires behind her, who challenged her right to be placed so high. Wofoo, ever the submissive one, simply apologized and let them pass. The sight made Adele’s heart ache. Wofoo, without a powerful family or exceptional abilities, had no choice but to endure their casual cruelty. Obedience was her only defense.
Wofoo, her senses heightened by her werewolf blood, noticed Adele’s gaze and turned, offering a shy smile. But Adele noticed a small band-aid on Wofoo’s face, covering a fresh wound. “…” If I meet Wofoo in the Secret Realm, Adele thought, I’ll definitely help her, even invite her to join my team.

One by one, the vampire girls disappeared through the gateway.
Adele finally stood before the three True Ancestors.
She felt their intense gazes, a pressure that made her blood race.
“Snyder, Ron!” Lady Chen Xi called out, stopping the two True Ancestors who flanked her.

To be honest, a vampire of Adele’s low rank wasn’t usually privy to the True Ancestors’ true names.
So Lady Chen Xi’s kindness actually put Adele under immense pressure.
Perhaps at this moment, she would rather ★ 𝐍𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 ★ forget the names she had just heard.

Snyder… must be Sharon’s ancestor’s name.
As for Ron, he was the other male True Ancestor, his entire body cloaked in black robes, his face hidden, his age indeterminate, only a few strands of long silver hair visible, reaching his waist.
He should be one of the three True Ancestors who supported Dorothy.

After stopping the two True Ancestors, Lady Chen Xi came to Adele and personally imprinted a magic rune on her palm, teaching her how to use it.
If she encountered danger in the Secret Realm, or wanted to end the trial…
Adele could release this magic power, alerting the True Ancestors outside, who would then bring her out of the Secret Realm.

This wasn’t a privilege exclusive to Adele, but a life-saving measure available to every participant in the trial.
But receiving the mark and the whispered instructions directly from Lady Chen Xi was unique to Adele.
Even Edith had only received a nod from her grandmother.

“Be careful, Adele,” Lady Chen Xi said gently, her voice a warm contrast to the tension of the trial. “And… don’t cause too much trouble for this old woman.”
Lady Chen Xi smiled and shook her head.
Then, she watched Adele’s retreating figure.

Until Adele carefully stepped through the gateway and disappeared from the teleportation circle.
“It seems that nothing special happened,” Snyder said, breaking the silence.
“My astrology also couldn’t see any useful information.”

Even Ron, who was completely hidden under his black robes, said calmly in his deep voice,
“Either we were overthinking it, and she has no connection to that great being, just a similar flower.”
“Or even the stars of destiny aren’t qualified to anchor her trajectory.”

The star that only he could see was as bright as ever.
………………
Adele didn’t like the feeling of completely surrendering herself to the unknown.

But under the gaze of the three True Ancestors, she still bravely stepped into the gateway.
An intense light instantly enveloped Adele’s entire body, making her involuntarily close her eyes.
When her eyes sensed that the intense light had disappeared and was replaced by a soft glow, Adele slowly opened her eyes and saw the surrounding scenery.

Just this one glance made her heart leap.
Before this, someone had told Adele that the environment in the Secret Realm was ever-changing, completely dependent on one’s luck.
And Adele’s luck was clearly much better than most.

Because the gentle breeze, the warm sunlight filtering through the trees, the lush green grass beneath her feet, and the clear river flowing in the distance all showed this to Adele.
The sky was so blue, the sunlight so warm, Adele felt like she belonged to the daylight and the clear sky.
Even if she had to live in such a place for a month, Adele thought she could handle it.

So there really were “utopias” in this world.
And in comparison, the environments other people encountered were clearly much worse.
Hermione was standing on scorched earth, the hot air around her forcing her to use water magic to cool down. In the distance, a rugged black mountain range welcomed the intruders with its breath.

It was volcanic ash, covering the sky and blocking out the sun.
The volcano… had erupted!
Just this one volcanic eruption was enough to eliminate all the vampires in this area except for Hermione and a few others.

Everyone was scrambling to escape from this area, to get away before the volcano erupted completely.
And in the process, it was natural for them to fight over the Blood Essence growing on the volcano.
Hermione wouldn’t waste time on this, she would at most check if Adele was among the vampires nearby.

More or less, everyone else also encountered rare extreme weather conditions.
Thunder, torrential rain, mudslides, and even earthquakes!
The environment in this Blood Trial was far harsher than anyone had expected.

As for whether the True Ancestors knew about this… that was unknown.
Compared to exploring and searching for the possible treasures in the Blood Secret Realm…
The first thing most young vampires did after entering was to run for their lives, trying to find a safe haven.

Adele was completely different from them.
According to the original plan, Adele should have stayed in this pure land, waiting for the other girls to arrive.
She could drink the clear stream when thirsty, pick wild fruits or catch fish and grill them when hungry. Celeste had taught Adele some fire magic.

Although it might not be very practical in combat, in the wilderness, fire element was much more useful than other elements.
But how could Adele be the kind of girl who could endure loneliness?
Moreover, she was currently brimming with confidence.

Except for a few powerful monsters…
If she encountered other girls participating in the Blood Trial, Adele was confident that she could easily take their points.
Even if she couldn’t, with her flying ability, she could always escape from them.

At this time, she didn’t need to worry about her witch identity being exposed.
The vampires in the vampire capital were much more tolerant of witches than those who were close to humans outside.
Adele rested for a while in this paradise of blue skies, clear water, and lush green grass, like a beautiful landscape painting.

She used the sky as her blanket, the earth as her bed, letting the gentle breeze caress her skin.
The girl’s heart gradually calmed down, no longer filled with competitiveness or greed.
Gradually, she seemed to feel her breath merging with the Secret Realm.

With every breath, all things flourished, the wind and clouds surged.
It made her wonder whether she was a part of this nature…
Or whether this nature was a part of her.

While others were still fleeing from natural disasters, Adele, having rested well, opened her eyes in this pure land.
“It’s time to find my wings~”
The girl made up her mind and walked in the direction the wind was blowing.

Behind her, flowers bloomed in her footsteps.
As if wherever she went, this pure land would follow.
