Chapter 452: Chapter 451: Did You See It? (8)

"How is that possible?"

Nino's wide, beautiful eyes reflected disbelief. Could this guy's cooking really be so much better than hers?

She had always prided herself on her culinary skills!

"Why don't you taste it for yourself?" Sui suggested with a slight smile.

"Hmph, fine," Nino muttered under her breath, picking up a spoon and taking a bite.

The sweetness of the pumpkin blended seamlessly into the rice, creating a sticky, comforting texture. The chicken was perfectly tender with a satisfying chew. It was unlike anything she had tasted before.

Instinctively, her eyes fluttered shut, her flushed cheeks warmed by the delightful taste, and a quiet hum of satisfaction escaped her.

When she opened her eyes again, she found Sui watching her, smiling. Annoyed, she puffed up her cheeks and turned her head away in a huff.

Though she didn't want to admit it, there was no denying it—his cooking skills far exceeded hers.

"Sui, your cooking is amazing!" Yotsuba said, her face glowing with admiration as she came over.

"Yeah, if you were my boyfriend, I'd get to eat like this every day!" Ichika added, her words slightly muffled as she kept eating.

"Itadakimasu," Itsuki announced, clasping her hands together in thanks before scooping a large spoonful of rice into her mouth. A broad, satisfied smile stretched across her face, clearly enjoying the food.

Her appetite for delicious meals left her with no resistance.

"Hey, Itsuki! You're eating too much. Leave some for the rest of us!" Yotsuba turned to see the dish half-eaten already, quickly protesting.

"I didn't take that much," Itsuki responded defensively, her cheeks stuffed with food, making her resemble a chipmunk as she spoke indistinctly.

'I can't believe this annoying guy made something so tasty,' she thought while savoring every bite.

As she ate, Sui couldn't help but stare at her a bit longer. His gaze drifted toward her belly, wondering if he could really pinch out a little 'meat bun.'

At that moment, Itsuki lifted her head, catching him staring. Annoyed, she slammed her spoon down, glaring. "I'm done eating!"

"Oh? In that case, we won't hold back," Ichika giggled, happily planning to eat more now that one competitor was out.

Itsuki hesitated, eyeing the remaining pumpkin chicken rice reluctantly. The mouth-watering aroma was too tempting to resist. Yet, remembering Sui's earlier look, she blushed with embarrassment and annoyance. She huffed, "I said I'm done!"

Despite her words, she continued stealing glances at the dish, swallowing quietly.

Sui couldn't help but chuckle at her transparent attitude. "If you still want some, feel free to eat more."

Misinterpreting his words, Itsuki puffed out her cheeks again, feeling mocked. "I said I'm done!" she huffed, glaring at him.

Sui shrugged helplessly.

It was then that he noticed a girl standing quietly behind him, headphones hanging loosely around her neck. It was Miku.

"Don't you want to try some?" Sui asked, curious about her withdrawn demeanor. She seemed different from her sisters.

"I don't want to eat anything made by someone as 'evil-minded' as you," Miku replied in a calm, measured voice.

It was the first time Sui had heard her speak.

Her voice was soft and plain—completely different from Yotsuba's lively tone or Nino's brash tsundere attitude. There was something about her shy, almost aloof, innocence that made her strangely endearing.

Still, her words left Sui puzzled. Evil-minded? Where did that come from?

"Miku, if you don't eat, we'll finish it all," Ichika said, glancing at her sister.

Miku hesitated for a moment. Not wanting to seem unsociable, she reluctantly said, "Fine, I'll try some."

She walked over, picked up a spoon, and took a bite. After chewing twice, her eyes widened, and a soft blush spread across her cheeks, visibly deepening with each passing second. The phone in her hand slipped to the floor unnoticed.

She stroked her cheek absentmindedly and, with her usual calm voice, said, "It's... delicious."

Yet, even as she said this, her tone remained emotionless, leaving Sui unsure if she truly enjoyed it.

He watched her, confused, before kneeling down to help pick up the phone she had dropped.

Miku, still standing, panicked slightly. Her eyes flashed with a hint of fear as she quickly bent down to retrieve the phone before he could.

Sui raised an eyebrow, wondering what had her so flustered. Was her phone hiding some kind of secret?

Just before she snatched it away, he caught a glimpse of the screen, seeing names like 'Takeda Shingen' and 'Fūrin Kazan'.

"Did you see it?" Miku suddenly turned to him, her expression darkening in an instant. Her eyes bore into his, cold and terrifying.

"Uh, yeah," Sui nodded instinctively, startled by her sudden shift. "Your tastes are... unique."

Most girls their age had cute animals or celebrity photos on their screens—not historical warlords.

Miku stared at him for a long moment before slipping her phone back into her pocket. Then, to Sui's surprise, she covered her face with her hands, her cheeks burning red even through her fingers.

"Don't tell anyone," she murmured, her voice low and silly.

"Uh... sure," Sui agreed, completely unsure of what was going on.

"Good." Miku let out a quiet sigh of relief. She glanced at Sui, her gaze softening in a way that made him wonder if her view of him had changed.

But Sui was utterly bewildered, completely at a loss for words. This girl's temperament was truly strange.

"I think it's safe to say the cooking contest is decided, right?" Utaha interrupted, strolling over and linking her arm with Sui's. Her wine-red eyes sparkled with triumphant satisfaction. "My boyfriend won, didn't he?"

Sui glanced at the senpai beside him and sighed inwardly. He realized with certainty—it was better not to provoke her in the future.
