Chapter 1037: Can't Prove Anything.
A while before Arad returned.
"So…let me think this through…" Eris growled, staring at Gamond, "You heard Arad is strong, wanted to fuck him? But won't do it until you see if he's really strong or not? So you went and interrupted his training, fought him, and ended up getting your ass handed back to you?"
"Pretty much it, I didn't expect him to be that strong." Gamond replied with a large smile, "You six seem to have gotten a real good one."
"You went and butted into his training? And you come here to ask us to let you in? Before everyone else who is waiting?" Aella glared at her, "I won't call that a peaceful approach."
"I'm a dragon." Gamond had her smile still on her face.
"Aella, she is right. To dragons, a punch to the face is nothing more than a bold pickup line." Eris sighed, annoyed but not entirely against it. She is too a half-dragon and somewhat understands how dragons feel.
"It doesn't matter." Aella stood with her eyes burning green, "You don't act and apologize later, expecting us to forgive and even agree with you joining in. If you had come to us first, I wouldn't have had a problem with you. But since you attacked him first, I've got no way of knowing how you'll act in the future."
"She sounds like me, kill first and think later," Merida said as she was sitting on her chair in reverse, leaning on its back support.
"I know the difference between someone seeking shelter and acting rashly and who is unhinged." Aella looked back at Merida, "If she only sees Arad's strength then she'll jump in the arms of the first enemy we face that could beat Arad."
"Oh…" Merida looked at Aella… "So that's how it is? Ah…" She growled, "Got it…so we kill those two?" She pulled her sword, demonic magic crackling from her back.
"I mean…" Eris looked at Aella and then at Gamond, only now understanding why Hati asked them to discuss the matter inside a room in her training world and why she sent Arad away. "If Arad is facing someone weaker than him and he doesn't need help, Gamond is standing happy behind him… but the moment he faces someone stronger and needs help she'll jump into the enemy's arms and turn on him."
"Mother won't turn on him!" Kory growled and Merida swung her sword, stopping it an inch away from her neck… "Oh…excluded yourself. So you'll turn on him?"
"I didn't mean…." Kory growled but Merida hushed her, "We're both stupid, close it up. we should shut up and let the smart ones talk."
Gamond smiled, "So? How do you want me to prove anything to you?"
Aella glared at her, "That is the point, you can't."
"Mother!" Kory growled, "Do you need to prove anything to them? It's clear she isn't willing to even listen to you." She stood and her magic started rushing out, "We can just settle this in the traditional way."
Eris looked at Kory with a smile, "I don't know if you're an idiot or a fool. Which one are you?"
"She is both." Gamond replied, "An idiot making things harder for me, and a fool thinking that just beating you three would solve the problem." She glared at Kory, "Take that back. Otherwise, Arad might end up shoving his foot up your throat."
Kory glared at Aella with a raging red face, gulped down, and growled, "Sorry… pretend I didn't say anything."
The situation didn't look good for Gamond and her daughter, the longer this conversation lasted the more aggressive it got. Aella seems to be refusing to listen to her just like how Kory stated, but that is why Kory didn't understand a thing about what they were talking about. Even with how angry Aella is now, she still doesn't reject them.
For this conversation so far Gamond had understood the standing of those three women. Aella seems to hold the most power among the wives and all of them seem to listen to her, the fact she is worried about Gamond potentially betraying Arad is proof that the other wives are right to put their trust in her.
Eris on the other hand seemed to be here to assist Aella, for some reason, Gamond got the feeling that Eris already made up her mind about an answer but would change her mind in a heartbeat to follow Aella's words.
Merida on the other hand didn't seem to care if Gamond and her daughter joined as long as her time with Arad wasn't reduced. In fact, she seemed to not want to participate in the conversation at all. Gamond could smell it, Merida couldn't wait to join Arad in bed and that is all she's thinking about now.
"You said I can't prove anything to you, but I might be too." Gamond looked at her with a smile.
"Go on, I'm listening. If you have a way to prove to me that you won't just betray Arad then show me." Aella was certain that Gamond had no way to prove it for that was simply impossible. All she could hope for was either to give her insurance or abandon something great to show her sincerity. Both of which wouldn't be enough.
"How about this." Gamond looked at Aella, "I'll kiss your feet, suck your toes…both me and Kory would do it, to all three of you until you accept us. And if you accept us, feel free to enslave us for as long as you need to feel comfortable that we won't betray Arad."
"Mother!" Kory yelled at her and Gamond gave her a sharp glare.
"A dragon's pride and freedom are worth more than their lives and I'm giving you both." Gamond looked at Aella with a smile, "What do you say? We'll do anything you want, just say the word."
Aella stared at her for a few seconds, Gamond actually gave up both. She probably knew one wouldn't be enough, but she seems to have miscalculated something, both her pride and freedom prove nothing.
"A dragon's pride is worth just as much as they want it and there is no telling what you'll do when not enslaved and most importantly, Arad won't want you to be a slave." Aella sighed, "Think of something else."
"You bitch!" Kory yelled at her, "Mother lowers her head to you and you dare spit on her face like this!" She immediately swung her fist at Aella.
CRACK! Merida caught Kory's fist, "Calm a bit, brat." She flipped her to the ground and stomped her in the guts.
Eris glared at Gamond, "You won't say anything?"
"You're like her mothers, if you want to educate her a bit then I won't mind, I'm even grateful." Gamond looked at Merida with a smile. If Gamond is to marry Arad then that means the other wives would be Kory's stepmothers. If any of them thought that Kory acted out of line and wanted to give her a bit of painful education, Gamond didn't intend to get in their way.
Merida immediately kicked Kory away and sat down, "Don't count yourself as one of us so quickly."
At that moment a Hati's gate opened beside them and Merlin walked in with a worried face, "I've got some bad news." She looked at them.
"And you are?" Gamond smiled at her, "If there is any trouble then I'll help solve it." From Merlin's face, she could deduce that a powerful foe had appeared, perfect for her to prove herself.
Merlin looked at her, "Merlin, Alina's archmage. I guess you're Gamond. In a day or two I'll be Arad's seventh wife."
"Then I'll have to ask for your permission as well." Gamond knew that there was another woman called Merlin but when she looked for her earlier she was told that she was studying magic so she didn't disturb her.
Merlin looked at the other wives, "What do you three say? Did you decide?"
"I don't care if she stays or not." Merida sighed.
"Let Aella decide." Eris didn't seem to mind Gamond joining in, but she still wanted to leave the decision to Aella.
Aella sighed, "Fine…she stays…but I'll kick her out the moment I feel any sign of betrayal."
Gamond smiled, those were good news. "What about you?" She turned toward Merlin, "Your voice is the last."
"It doesn't matter," Merlin looked a bit sad, "I did want you to help me with magic, but it's a shame you won't stay here for long."
"What are you talking about?" Gamond started to get worried.
"A powerful dragon came looking for you. He's almost twice as powerful as Arad and Hati is barely able to stop him from breaking into here." Merlin looked at Gamond and with those two words, a portal appeared behind her, crackling with teleportation magic. Something massive and heavy was now breaking into Hati's training ground.
He walked inside standing tall and wearing a pale white monk robe, his glittering blue eyes stared at Gamond as a smile covered his face. "Aren't you a good one?" His flowing white hair sparked with magic as time and space themselves ripped apart around his body.
