Chapter 665: Chapter 665: Oh!
Infuriated by Muria's mockery, the dragon hunter burst into a frenzied rage. His body ignited, and he loudly called upon the Dragon Hunter God, Malcador, using the most primal sacrificial rites to summon the deity's power. Offering himself as a sacrifice, he sought divine intervention to deal with Muria. The gold dragon Muria, however, remained unfazed, sitting calmly and watching the spectacle.
As the dragon hunter burned himself in the summoning ritual, the other legends halted their attacks, watching the scene with anticipation. Muria's calm demeanor only deepened the anxiety of the armor-shattered dragon hunter, who grew more desperate and loud in his calls to the deity.
A sacrifice from a legend soon received a response. A majestic and vast aura enveloped the hunter, manifesting in a golden pair of eyes above him, indifferent and imposing. These eyes, formed by the sacrificial power, gazed at Muria, who grinned, revealing sharp white teeth, and met the gaze without a hint of fear, as if the oppressive divine presence did not exist.
"Oh! You must be Malcador," Muria greeted warmly, showing none of the humility typically expected of a weaker being facing a divine manifestation.
The Dragon Hunter God, Malcador, who had sent down his will, did not respond to Muria's flippant attitude. The golden eyes, created by the blood sacrifice, slowly vanished without further reaction, as if they had never existed.
...
In the ethereal realm of the Pantheon, accessible only to gods, various deities were present as avatars. Most sat silently, occasionally exchanging words. A deity's avatar, seated in the higher tiers, suddenly opened its eyes, then closed them again, syncing briefly with the true god's consciousness.
"Titan!" The Dragon Hunter God Malcador's avatar sat on his divine throne, eyes closed, feeling a slight irritation but helplessness as well. If Muria were merely a dragon progeny, he could send down a more tangible presence to reprimand him. However, with Titan blood in the mix, the situation was different.
Malcador, a prestigious deity, decided to ignore the situation and the blood-sacrificed follower, wishing to pretend nothing had happened. However, another god wasn't going to let him off so easily.
"Oh, Malcador, your follower has made a blood sacrifice, and you're not going to respond?" A taunting voice echoed through the quiet Pantheon, drawing the attention of several deities. They turned to see who spoke, finding it was a notorious god seated below the more powerful divine entities.
This god was a robust dragon deity with five dragon heads and a wyvern-like tail. Seeing the normally reserved Dragon Queen suddenly provoke the Dragon Hunter, more gods focused their attention. Even some of the stronger gods slightly raised their awareness to observe the unfolding scene. The animosity between the Dragon Hunter and the Dragon Queen was well-known, given their opposing natures and followers.
Malcador's godly avatar showed no change in expression, only opening his eyes briefly to glance at the Dragon Queen with a flash of red divine light, filled with unmistakable killing intent, before closing them again. This was a normal reaction, nothing surprising to the other gods.
Seeing no response from the Dragon Hunter, the Dragon Queen wasn't bothered. Her five dragon heads all displayed mocking and sneering expressions, clearly visible to the other gods.
"Malcador, are you going to be a coward? Your follower sacrificed himself, and you didn't even respond. You're a disgrace. We should call you the Cowardly God from now on."
"Do you want to die, Tiamat?" Malcador opened his eyes fully, glaring at the Dragon Queen.
"What are you boasting about? If you have the guts, come kill me in the Abyssal Plains! If you can do it, it's your skill." The Dragon Queen Tiamat showed no fear, openly challenging the powerful deity.
Not far from the Dragon Queen's throne, a platinum dragon also stirred, opening its eyes and raising its head slightly to look at the Dragon Hunter. Despite being adversaries with the Dragon Queen, when facing such a deity, they were on the same side.
"Tiamat, what happened?" the Platinum Dragon God asked, puzzled by the sudden provocation. Although there was a longstanding enmity, such conflicts typically required a specific cause.
"Nothing much. This Dragon Hunter experienced something quite special," Tiamat said, her eyes filled with malice.
"What happened?" asked a goddess shrouded in a soft moonlit glow, her voice filled with curiosity. Being an ancient deity, she had no reason to hold back her questions.
"One of Malcador's legendary followers was about to be killed by a dragon and sacrificed himself to summon divine aid. But this coward ignored it and pretended not to hear." Tiamat unabashedly shared what she knew, her five heads full of malicious glee as she watched Malcador.
