The Extra’s POV : I can only use Dash

Just as the tip of the goblin's dagger was about to pierce me, I acted without thinking. 

[Dash] 

Once again, I felt as if I had broken through an invisible wall, soaring forward. But this time, panic clouded my focus—I lost my balance and tumbled across the ground. 

"Urkh!" 

When I scrambled to my feet, I realized that the distance between me and the goblin had drastically increased. What was once mere centimeters had stretched into 11 meters. 

[Cooldown before Dash can be used again: 11 seconds] 

"11 seconds?! That's way too long!" 

The goblin, now a fair distance away, glared at me with its bloodthirsty red eyes, its lips curling into a sinister grin. It gripped its dagger tightly, preparing to lunge at me once more. 

'If this keeps up, I'm going to die! I need to do something!' 

I gripped my wooden sword with trembling hands, holding it up awkwardly as the goblin confidently closed the gap between us. 

"Shit, shit—THINK, Sugil, THINK!" 

Then, a plan formed in my head. 

Dash had created an 11-meter gap between me and my opponent. If I could use it correctly, at just the right distance… even with my terrible sword skills, I might be able to catch the goblin off guard and disarm it. 

But for that to work, I needed to wait for the cooldown. 

[Cooldown before Dash can be used again: 7 seconds] 

'7 seconds?' 

Just 7 seconds before I could use Dash again. And in those 7 seconds, everything would be decided. 

I took a deep breath, trying to steady myself. 

'I can do this!' 

With determination burning in my eyes and just a tiny bit of fighting spirit, I charged toward the monster, raising my sword. 

"YAAAH!!!" 

…Yeah, it was totally embarrassing.

But it was the only thing I could do in my absolute lack of combat experience. 

"Krah ahaha!" 

The goblin effortlessly dodged my desperate attack, laughing mockingly instead of countering. 

'Wait, this is a simulation, right? Why does it feel so real when it mocks me?!' 

I didn't have time to dwell on it. Four seconds remained on Dash's cooldown. I needed to stall for just three more seconds. 

"YAH!" 

Swing!

Whoosh!

I kept swinging, but the goblin dodged each strike with ease. 

"Damn it… I still haven't landed a single hit!" 

'But that doesn't matter, because…' 

[Dash cooldown complete!] 

It was time to turn the fight around. 

I took a few steps back, still looking at the goblin with fear—but not as much as before. This time, I was certain. 

Seeing me retreat, the goblin grinned. 

I could read it like an open book. It thought I was chickening out again, preparing to run. 

It let its guard down, ready to chase after me. 

"This is it!" 

The moment it dropped its guard, I activated— 

[Dash] 

In an instant, I closed the gap, slashing down— 

A shallow but deep enough wound appeared on its torso. 

The goblin, caught completely off guard, let out a startled shriek and dropped its dagger. 

"Now's my chance!" 

Without hesitation, I grabbed the fallen weapon and drove it straight into its skull. 

Green blood splattered all over my shirt. 

The goblin collapsed instantly, showing no signs of life. 

'I-It's over?' 

'I… I actually won?' 

Then, a robotic voice snapped me out of my thoughts. 

[Challenger has successfully completed the test within the allotted time. You will now be ejected from the simulation.] 

As soon as the voice finished speaking, the forest around me began to disintegrate, along with the goblin. 

In its place, a training dummy appeared—its metal skull split open. 

Even the green blood on my shirt faded away. 

And then— 

. 

. 

. 

. 

I was back in the simulation room. 

Eve and Sae-jin stood there, both smirking slightly. 

"Well, well… you really gave it your all, Sugil." 

Eve said, amused. 

'…Never again. I'm NEVER doing this again.' 

But deep down, I knew it wouldn't be the last time I'd face this simulation. 

A mechanical voice echoed through the white room. 

[Training Dummy: Rank F- Goblin - Stage 1, successfully defeated.] 

[Hits landed: 2 ] 

[New record: 5 minutes 30 seconds]

[Quest: Reach Level 5 during the entrance exam

Rewards: New card abilities of 1 or 2 stars, gain points in STR and END.

Failure to complete the quest within the time limit will result in penalties for the next 10 days. Quest difficulty: RANK F.]
