Chapter 181: [A formal Duel!]
His blonde hair accompanied with those crimson eyes enhanced the beauty of the guy standing in front of me. He currently wore a white long robe over his red coloured shirt and white pants. Among all those whom I have met in my journey, he was probably the most handsome guy, faring well even with the Gods and Goddesses in his beauty.
And as I challenged him to a fight, an amused smile appeared on his face as he tried analyzing me once again, this time, judging my words and the reason behind them. And when he understood my reasons of fighting by the look on my face, he chuckled before speaking,
"Very well. I agree. Though, how and where should we fight? I am afraid if we do it here, we might end up turning the entire city upside down. Not that I mind, but I heard that you are quite fond of the city."
Was I?
I don't think so.
"Well. Let me prepare a stage for us then," I smiled as I then clicked my fingers, and using the map in my [Creation Index] I chose an empty plain about a dozen kilometers away from the city, transforming it into a large sized stadium for us to fight.
We could honestly fight here, ruining the city into ashes but let's not do that for now. We still have a few days till the tutorial starts here, so it would be nice to have a place where we can relax after the fight.
'Even though it's going to be ruined later anyways,' I sighed as I knew the tutorial was not going to be forgiving at all.
The stadium that I created was about a kilometre in radius, made up of concrete that I reformed using the floor and then adding a bit of my energy to it. It won't be enough to stop it from getting destroyed, but still, it should define the boundaries around which we can fight.
Realising what I did, the Vampire King's eyes widened as he looked in the direction where the new stadium was. There was a look of disbelief on his face as he was having a hard time understanding how I did that.
But that also fueled his desire to fight me even more.
"Shall we go?" I gave a polite gesture before he vanished from there within a second. And in the next second, I appeared there as well.
"Are you really a God?!" He asked.
"??" And I looked at him surprised a bit.
It's not what he asked but the way he did it. Previously he was talking with a cold demeanor, something akin to a high and mighty one. Like the one you find in royalties and stuff. But now, the way he looked at me, the way he was a tad bit excited…
It was as if a child had found his favorite toy to play with.
"I am not," I answered honestly not really bothered by it but then he continued to speak in the same excited informal tone,
"Is that so? Still. This isn't something a normal person can do. Either you must be really special among the ones there or perhaps you come from a higher dimension where everyone is like that?"
The way his demeanor changed, he now seemed to be younger than before. Previously he behaved like an aged wise old man, but now he was… like an adult teen?
I got a bit curious, and perhaps he saw through my expression, he laughed as he spoke,
"That cold tone is mostly for the people who bark a lot and have nothing to show for. I know it might seem like an eternally living immortal might be a cold hearted stone guy, but trust me, for an immortal, it is much better to keep his childish emotions intact if he wants to enjoy little of what the world has to offer. Else it's just misery and loneliness."
I heard his words, and pondered about it. And in the end, I reached the conclusion that I don't know anything about being an immortal.
'I should just be quiet about it,' I made a mental note before speaking,
"Is that so? Well. It's not something I may know much about."
And then taking out my dual guns, I observed the guy looking at me with slight interest.
"So. Is it going to be a fight to the death?" The immortal asked politely, to which I pondered before speaking,
"Well. I don't want you to die so easily so let's not. How about until one of us loses consciousness?"
He chuckled, making an amused expression before nodding as he spoke,"all right. Fight till unconsciousness it is then."
As we were discussing the criteria for winning, the others also woke up and started collecting at the edge of the city walls. There was Navia, Elliot, Velma, Kite, Sebastian, and many more people watching us from a distance.
They had mixed emotions regarding our fight, each of them focused on us, not missing even a blink right now.
And not too far away from us, there were also ghouls and vampires looking at us. I could see them through the map, standing in a cave a few dozen kilometers within the forest. Perhaps they had heard what was going on, and were having plans of their own.
But it seemed to be the start as more people started coming through portals and such. They were probably the other half-vampires and vampire generals who had heard of us through Kite.
"Words sure do travel fast. It's not even been an hour," the Vampire spoke as he then looked at me with a kind expression before he spoke,
"I, Julius Val Harbert, the Immortal Vampire King, am prepared for the duel."
Was it a formal greeting? I don't know. Seemed like it. It was kind of cool as well. Hence…
"I, Crowley, the Messenger from another world, am prepared for the duel."
