The Feared One

Chapter 14: Wanted

Silas Kane had won. Elias Morrow was finished; his political career was destroyed, his reputation in ruins and his power gone. Kane had taken back his gold empire, secured his cryptocurrency network and crushed every threat standing in his way.

To the world, he was a ghost. A legend whispered in dark circles of power, moving money, governments and entire economies without ever showing his face. The war was over. Now, it was time to build something greater. An empire that no one could ever take away again.

Inside a private underground banking facility, ten of the world's most powerful financiers sat around a polished glass table. These men didn't just run banks. They ran nations. Silas Kane sat at the head of the table, his black suit impeccable and his gold watch gleaming under the soft lights.

Across from him sat Victor Langston, a senior director of one of Switzerland's largest private banks. Langston leaned forward, tapping his fingers against the table. "We've heard the rumors, Mr. Kane. You're no longer just trading gold. You're talking about reshaping the global economy. That's… ambitious."

Kane's smirk was unshaken. "Ambition is what built this room, isn't it?" Langston raised an eyebrow. "And what exactly do you want from us?" Kane placed a gold coin on the table. "Gold never dies. It never fades. It doesn't bend to governments or markets. I don't just want to trade it. I want to make it the only currency that matters." A murmur spread across the table.

One of the bankers, an older man with silver hair, scoffed. "You're proposing something impossible. The world is built on paper money." Kane leaned back, his gaze sharp and calculating. "Paper burns. Governments fall. But gold? Gold stays." Langston exhaled, considering. "And what do we get out of this?"

Kane smirked. "More wealth than you've ever imagined. And freedom from any government that thinks it can control you." A long silence. Then, finally Langston nodded. And just like that, Kane had the banks.

His new empire wasn't just about power. It was about rewriting the rules of the world itself.

The world's most powerful intelligence agencies had been watching. They had seen Kane's return. They had watched as he bought the banks, crushed Morrow and built a financial empire that no government could regulate. And now, they were terrified.

Inside a classified intelligence briefing, a panel of senior agents sat in a dimly lit war room. The director of the CIA, Mark Devlin, tapped a folder labeled: "KANE: GLOBAL THREAT ASSESSMENT" "He's not just a criminal anymore," Devlin said, his voice grim. "He's a sovereign power and if we don't act now, we may never be able to stop him."

One of the NSA analysts spoke up. "We've tried freezing his assets, shutting down his networks. Nothing sticks. It's like he's always ten steps ahead." Another agent exhaled. "So what do we do?" Devlin's jaw tightened. "We don't go after the money. We go after him." A pause. Then, a single order was issued.

"Silas Kane is now the most wanted man in the world. Find him. Kill him."

Silas Kane had been expecting retaliation. But even he was surprised at how fast the world moved against him. The moment he arrived in Tokyo for a meeting with Asian investors, he knew something was wrong. Jonas Wren, walking beside him, kept his voice low and urgent. "Surveillance is tight. They know you're here."

Kane didn't break stride as they moved through the luxury hotel's lobby. "Good. Let's see how far they're willing to go." The private penthouse suite was massive, overlooking the neon-lit skyline of Tokyo. But Kane had barely poured himself a drink when the attack began.

A flashbang grenade smashed through the window. BOOM! Glass exploded and before Kane could react, black-clad special forces rappelled from the rooftop. Jonas dove for cover. "They're here!" Kane grabbed his pistol, dodging as a hail of bullets ripped through the suite. "Move!" Kane barked, rolling across the floor as gunfire shattered furniture and walls.

The mercenaries moved fast but Kane and Jonas were faster. Jonas took out two with precise headshots while Kane grabbed a silenced SMG from a hidden compartment, cutting down the rest.

One of the mercenaries, badly wounded gasped on the floor. Kane crouched beside him, pressing a gun to his forehead. "Who sent you?" The man coughed. "CIA… global task force… they're coming for you…" Kane didn't hesitate. One shot. The mercenary went limp.

Jonas exhaled. "They're escalating. This was government-backed." Kane wiped the blood off his sleeve, unfazed. "Then we escalate too."

Instead of running, Kane did the opposite. He went on the offensive. Within hours, his network of hackers had infiltrated intelligence servers, accessing high-level government communications.

And then, he sent a message. A video feed appeared on the screens of every intelligence agency monitoring him. Silas Kane, sitting in a dimly lit room smirked into the camera. "You tried to kill me. You failed."

His voice was calm, smooth and in complete control. "You call me the world's most wanted man. But let me remind you… I don't exist." He leaned forward, his eyes dark with amusement. "You can't kill what you can't find." The video cut out. And the war officially began.

Back in Dubai, Kane gathered his inner circle. Jonas Wren. Lin Zhao. Victor Langston. They sat in the highest floor of his private skyscraper, overlooking the city. Kane poured himself a drink, his voice calm. "The world has declared war on me. Let's give them a reason to be afraid."

Jonas grinned. "What's the plan?" Kane smirked. "We take everything." And with that, the final phase of Kane's empire began. A kingdom without borders.

A financial system no government could touch. A power beyond politics, beyond laws and beyond nations. Because Silas Kane wasn't just a ghost anymore. He was the future. And the world was about to bow.
